Why evolution and creationism should be taught side by side (1 Viewer)

Evolution is only a theory and hasn't been proven as fact.

Creationism is also a theory and deserves equal treatment.

It's not fair to only teach one side of an issue.

People should be able to choose for themselves what they want to believe and not have it dictated to them.

Therefore I'm proposing that states mandate the teaching of evolution alongside creationism in church.

All beliefs should be treated equally.
In church? Sure.

In public school, keep the deities out.

nothing to do with politics.

sorry, but his statement is asinine. all beliefs should be treated equally? that has to be a fishing trip. people who believe the sun revolves around the earth? maybe you don't believe in little things called germs make us sick? obama is a kenyon? bush brought down the wtc? i could go on and on...and no, all of these beliefs should be given the same respect and time.

personally my problem is the lack of respect for science and the scientific process- evidently people are good with it allowing us to waste or time online, help cure diseases, put people into space, and all sorts of cool ####. so the one thing the scientists cant get right is evolution? (ok, I guess climate change too?)

I get that it might but heads with what is in the bible, but it doesn't make the process any less scientific and factual. there is room for science and religion. science is bizarre, especially when dealing with quantum theory and string theory. absolutely there could be a god- maybe started our universe? lives in another dimension/plane that string theory predicts? who knows. but to think a book written almost 2000 years and translated and edited 100s of times needs equal treatment as a scientific "theory" is dangerous.

I agree!
Are you SURE you agree?
Oh, yeah, I didn't get that far either. I knew S.Bob was joking, but I didn't make it to the punchline.
I believe he is deadly serious

more persecution of Christians
:potkettle: Just sayin'...Christians over the centuries (even up to modern history) have "NEVER" persecuted non-Christians for not sharing their beliefs? :sarcasm: And I say that as someone who believes in God/Jesus, and would self-identify as a Christian.
