Why is Josh Jacobs so high? (1 Viewer)

Drafting today with 8 spot, I think Jacobs will fall to me, just can't see taking him that high on such a mediocre team.  Why do the guys have him so high? above Cook and Kamara in some rankings.

This a redraft or dynasty? PPR or standard scoring? I haven’t seen anywhere where he’s ranked above Cook and Kamara.

standard non ppr, my cheat sheets have him above Kamara, is he worth a top 10 spot is my biggest question.  I doubt either of the other two get to me

Yes, I would say he’s right around number 10. I think Joe Mixon has shown you that a great offense isn’t always necessary for an individual to put up numbers. Jacobs had over 1000 yards rushing in his rookie season. No reason to think he won’t duplicate or perform better than that this season.

But do you have Jacobs ahead of Kamara in your rankings? That's what matters.

Is Jacobs a top 10 overall pick in non-PPR?  I think yes. Do I have him ahead of Kamara in non-PPR? I don't, but it's extremely close based on what they each did last year, and with some reports that Jacobs could see an increased utilization this year in the passing game, you can see why some may shift him up their rankings.

They both had about the same stats last year - 1300 yards and 6-7 TDs - the only difference is Kamara had 60 more receptions - that is irrelevant to non-PPR (but is why Kamara is usually several slots higher in PPR rankings). I don't know of any significant changes to either's situation (other than the aforementioned chance Jacobs sees some increased utilization), but I do not expect a seismic change in production for either of them.

Perfect statement.  You need to decide where he ranks for you and then draft accordingly.

I have Kamara ahead of Jacobs, but not by a wide margin.  With the lack of stud RBs out there, Jacobs is routinely going low end of first round.
