WIFI HDMI (WHDI) (1 Viewer)

avoiding injuries

Footballguy
I need some help from the A/V guys. I've searched a lot of places and have only found limited or older information.

I am in need of a wireless HDMI system to broadcast my cable(DirecTV) box from inside my house to a TV on my Patio. I have a hard wire HDMI line roughed in, but a wireless option would be ideal. I've seen a few things on Amazon and Best Buy, but I've always had good luck getting advice from FBGs in the past. The signal would need to go through a foundation wall and the distance is about 75-100'. Suggestions?

Maybe look at DIrecTV Now (Their streaming program) and use something like an AppleTV (wireless) to host that App. Don't have DirecTV, so I can't test it, but I use my AppleTVs in different areas in my house, both wired and wireless and have no problems streaming.

same exact situation I'm in.  putting TV(only 30 ft from TV in home) on wall of patio & currently have directv-HD receiver in house.  How did your quest work out?

Thanks.

If it HAS TO BE wireless, I don't know - but it looks expensive.  If you're able to run a cable (like I was) - I did both of these, for redundancy sake.  The second one is really cool as it allows me to use remotes outside to control equipment inside.

Could you mix the second one with one of these products that allows you to send Network over your electric?

You have two transmitter/receivers that you plug into outlet, then connect it to your network, and you have wired in by the other outlet, wonder if that would work as part of a two step process.

Would have no need to.  I ran 4 lines of cat6 cable from the inside closet to the outside projector location.  2 of them are being used by the hdmi extender, but the other two are available for whatever I might need (currently, nothing - but you never know what tomorrow brings).

I have this system.  It came with my house because the prior owner used it to project from the bedroom TV jack to the 1080 TV mounted in the bathroom, about 25 feet away.  (look at me! I have wifi hdmi and a TV in my bathroom!)

Works pretty well, I have to say.  Not sure how it would work through a wall or glass but it works when the bathroom door is closed too. YMMV
