will Joe Webb get any time at QB this year? (1 Viewer)

I remember reading that the team was really high on his QB potential in the offseason. now that Favre might be out i would think they need to know what they have in Webb before the draft comes.

And it was apparently more of Chilly's idea to move Webb to QB, while Frazier is interested in getting him looks elsewhere, so he may not end up developing as a QB anyway. Frazier may try to see what else they can do with him when he heals up.

He was active as a wide receiver last game. As ScottyFargo mentioned, it was Childress' decision to have Webb play quarterback and apparently the organization was not too happy about it. They drafted him to play wide receiver. The Vikings are still trying to win games and if Webb has any future with the team, it may be at wide receiver and not quarterback. The chances of him getting any time under center are miniscule.

Probably just my wishfull thinking as a dynasty owner. For as long as these guys take to develop I might try to move him now.

I was hoping for a little more insight from our boardies who follow the Vikings closely.thanks guys
I think most speculation right now says that the QB spot is tied very tightly around Brett Favre for the rest of the season. Even when he's dead to rights, you know he's got Mummy power and will rub some dirt on his compound fracture and be starting week after week. What you'll see out of Joe Webb will depend on how quick he heals up from being dinged this last week, and however innovative Bevell gets in the last few weeks here, but I don't think you're going to see him throw many passes except for the odd trick play. I think he'll be returning kicks and getting limited work, unless Percy's migraines stay bad enough to keep limiting him. He's a deep sleeper, but I am holding him because of the uncertainty at Minny's QB spot going into next year, but more than that, because he's a freak. I have no idea if he'll be successful in any role, but I believe the Vikes are going to try to figure it out. If Frazier doesn't get the HC job then his future is probably even more uncertain.

Favre's hurt. No explanation needed.

Could Webb really, really start a game next week?

Hide your wide receivers and running backs folks.

s/ ADP & Rice owner.

Webb's still dealing with his hammy, so they are looking at Patrick Ramsey and 7 other free agent QBs, any of whom might start next Monday. It's a total crap shoot, but worth keeping an eye on. If you're planning on winning games, though...Viking players aren't going to help much the next two weeks, I don't think.

The t-joke experiment has run it's course. Joe Webb needs to be in there to see if he's a viable QB for next year. If not, this team is in big trouble.

That being said, look for Favre to be back next week.

Has it been said yet that it sure would have been eiither smart and/or interesting to see what Sage Rosenfels could have done with this team?
