I voted within 3 years. What a great situation with Colston, Bush & Brees. This is high power offense for many years to come.

obviously not meant to be, and made it pretty clear my prejudice against him has nothing to do with him personally. But the reports have not been good. One guy calling in to Sirius who was at Saints camp said he looked really, really slow. And fat.

Only if Colston goes down for an extended period of time or turns out to be a one year wonder like Michael Clayton.

Bush is WR1a, Colston WR1b... there are only so many targets to go around for everybody else.

That guy is full of crap. Meachem has not been amazing by any means, but there is certainly nothing "slow" or "fat" about him right now.Meachem has really done nothing to warrant his "whipping boy" status at this point, but yet there he is. I feel bad for the kid. Gotta be tough to adjust in your first NFL camp when you're already being heckled by ignorant drunken #######.

Want to buy some snake oil to go with that kool-aid?Meachem reported to camp two pounds under his target weight. While he may look like a rookie in camp, he's anything but slow.

That's a good post. The comments from coaching staff hasn't been critical of Meachem either. Apparently, for some fans, Meachem has assumed the role that Aaron Brooks once had as resident punching bag....From today's T-P camp report...
--Rookie wide receiver Robert Meachem had possibly the best practice of his career on Tuesday morning. Meachem made a couple of nice catches in the regular team drill session, both in front of cornerback Anwar Phillips. "We keep talking about making steps of progress," Payton said of Meachem. "I was pleased to see him get his hands on some balls. With him, it's definition of route-runing and getting assignments down."

I can't say I have followed the Univerisity of Tenesee very close, whats their history at WR? I think Kelly Washington was pretty good their and hasnt done much in the NFL. Who else?

My thoughts exactly. I suppose it's not unheard of to have two top 20 WRs on the same team, but with Colston being semi-proven, and Meachem not, I'd bet against him cracking the top 20 if I had to. I do like him, though. He's got great short speed/quickness. He's the type that I think will play faster than he is timed on the track, so that's quite a statement with him, if true. We'll see. I look forward to watching him in the NFL.

This scenario seems likely.......as a matter of fact, between Colston, Meachem, Henderson, and the others, I would bet against ANY Saints receiver getting 1000 this year.....especially when you consider the likelihood that the running game will be markedly better this year.

It will take an injury from Colston or Moore to get Meachem into the rotation. That said, I think he would make the most of that chance this year...
