Willie Parker (1 Viewer)

Ravens defense will be the toughest Steelers have faced in their excruciatingly easy schedule (CLE, BUF, SFO, ARI, SEA, DEN, CIN) (as an aside: someone in the scheduling office hated San Diego and loved Pittsburgh).

Sounds like a slow day for Willie -- 70 yards combined and no TDs looks about right to me.

I need 14.5 points in a 1PPR league. Am I asking too much?
He's averaging: 104 YPG, and about 2 catches for 12 and not very many TDs (2 in 7 games) against the defenses listed above. You need him to perform a little better than his average -- I don't see it being likely. I would temper your expectations. I would say it's 65:35 against you.I put it at: 65 yards rushing, 2 receptions for 8 yards. No TDs.

I just need him to not get outscored by McGahee by more than 12. If he can put up 70 yards and a TD I would be very happy.

It would take a Willie Parker injury and a good game for McGahee for Willie Parker + 12 < McGahee. You'll smoke a victory cigar tomorrow night.

Tough to call. Baltimore has done a very good job containing Willie Parker and while the Ravens aren't as good as they were last season their defense is still tough against the run.I think FWP is going to be held to 75 yards rushing but I could see him doing some damage catching the ball -- maybe another 30-40 yards and a TD.

Had nothing to do with their 14-2 and 8-8 records last year, did it?As for FWP -- tempter your expectatations....Baltimore has typically contained him well. My prediction is 80-90 combined yards and likely no TD tonight.

Both of Bmore's starting corners are hurt: local talk radio is saying McAlister is OUT and Rolle is OUT for tonite's game. The Steelers should be able to pass, pass, pass. The running game will become effective in the second half once Pitts takes a commanding lead. With that in mind I think Poop will have a shot to have a very good second half.

I sat him yesterday on purpose so when I go to the game tonight, I can expect a great game...

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO !!!!

I can virtually guarantee he will not find the end zone this week.
Dude, you are such a broken record on this topic that I knew what your reply was going to be before I even opened the thread. Your name is for ever associated with whining about FWP's TD production - congrats!

You're golden, Parker is going off tonight - guaranteed. Expect: 130 rushing5 catches70 yards 2 TD'sCongrats on the upcoming win, have fun watching FWP tonight.
You must be going against FWP tonight.
I hope he's right. I need 100 total yards and a TD (or 160 total yards) to beat the Peterson owner this week.

As an FWP owner this year and last year, I am not expecting much. He got virtually nothing in either Ravens game last year. With them coming off a bye, I don't think it'll get any easier.

I'll be very happy w/ 50 & a TD.

Great post. Scooby is pretty much the "captain dildo" of the FBG forums. :hophead:
Why? Because I think the trend that has established itself over 8 weeks will continue? ;)

McAlister and Rolle are out this week. I expect the Steelers to come out throwing to establish the lead and open things up for the run. I think FWP will have a much better game than he had last year agains the Ravens.

Last year has nothing to do with this year. Ravens got up early both times and the Steelers abandoned the run. The year before FWP did fine. I expect the Steelers to win, and win big. Willy will get his.

50 and a TD

or

125

(because that is what i need to win, not because that is what i think will happen LOL)

I need 12pts from FWP and Hines (combined) tonight to beat an 0-8 team in my league tonight.

1/20 yds; 6pt TDs; NO PPR.

Ya Think I'll make it?

That's great news!!!I only need Big Ben to put up 58 points tonight for me to beat Peterson's owner

Heap is a GTD decision as well. It wouldn't break my heart to see him on the sidelines tonight in street clothes.

I'm up 33 and have Big Ben vs his H. Ward, W. Parker and McGehee. Ben should canx Ward at the least and I don't see those two having great days. I am praying Willie and McGehee don't get squat.

A big day from Parker would be outstanding. I am 29 down and have Big Ben and Parker. Ultimate for me would be for them to start the scoring with an 80 yard screen pass. That would make up for me not being able to check my computer on Sunday morning-thus starting Frank Gore over Jamal Lewis.

If Big Ben doesn't play due to spastic####zola and Willie out scores McGehee by 7 I can win this thing. Willie 168 and 2 tds.

Ravens D...hmmm...

He averages 113 total yards a game.

The ravens give up an average of 72 total yards to starting RBs.

They usually give up around 85% of a starting RB's average output each week (yeah, it took a bit to compile this info). If RB A averages 90 total yards a game, they would get around 76 total yards. That means Parker is expected to get around 98 total yards and not quite a TD.

 This is excellent info.To be honest, I'd like to see more of this kind of info available from FBG.

But game conditions may mean they go to Willie even more. Wind/rain with precipitation in the forecast right?

My guess is 40 yards running 10 receiving, no touchdowns. I've owned him for years and the Ravens seem to have his number. Countless times I've seen him throw up 33 yds against these guys. I benched him in favor of E. Graham and am happy I did.

I was so wrong about this guy. So wrong.
Lordy, you sure do roll around Parker threads a lot. The guy is an undrafted FA who has 3464 yards rushing in 39 starts, or on average 1421 yards per 16 games. He is averaging 20 carries a game and some questioned his durability even though he has missed only 1 game in 3 years as a starter. He is averaging 4.5 ypc in the 39 games as a starter with 23 TDs.So, again, he has a bad game against a Ravens defense, which has been a top 3 run defense for the past 3 years and you are wrong about a guy who has averaged 1421 yards, 4.5 ypc and 9.4 TDs per 16 games? Don't forget, that 16 game average includes him facing the Ravens 1 out of every 8 games. Hmmm, you know what, I think you are wrong.Unfortunately, I had to start Parker as well (although I had already won, of course) with Lamont's official death and Chatman on a bye, so I knew not to expect much. As Majarrek posted, the Ravens run defense has something on the Steelers O-line. I don't know what it is, but the little I saw was no room to run at all. There was one play which was a loss of 2 where Bart Scott blew up some O-lineman and was so far in the backfield it was silly.

seriously, what is wrong with him? That was the hardest to watch game involving one of my players I think I've ever watched. How do you have that many carries with a long of 5 yards? He's about as explosive as a bowl of pudding. Terrible, just terrible. Najeh and whomever that scrub at the end was both had longer carries than Parker.
