Winners and Losers after first round (1 Viewer)

I don't get the Decastro one though.
Pissed he landed in Pittsburgh.

"Yes. I love DeCastro more than just about any other prospect in the draft and I really wanted the Titans to grab him.

Skipping him only to have the Steelers grab him is just terrible."

That pick is why the Steelers are the Steelers. There are going to be a lot of teams wishing they hadn't passed on him.

Martellus Bennett is a winner so far with NYG passing on Fleener.
It won't matter. Martellus Bennett is terrible. Having Fleener or Antonio Gates or a box of hair competing for catches with him is not going to materially change his performance.

Crabtree- I was holding out hope he would turn into a FF WR #2, but they have added a lot of WR's.

Has that ship sailed?

I think the winner is Jake Locker.

You really can't ask for a better situation if you are a QB:

1. Two bookend tackles for pass protection

2. A young, big, fast wideout who can go up and snag the ball.

3. A fast TE who can create mismatches

4. A veteran possession receiver with speed (Washington)

5. A quick playmaking receiver who can play in the slot and outside

6. The fastest, most explosive RB in the game.

There are really no excuses for this offense. It's all up to Locker.
Really?I happen to like Locker myself, but as a Johnson owner from last year, i'm here to tell you that bolded part is a tough pill to swallow. You may be right, but i'm gonna have to see it before i believe it my good man.

And I sure wish ESPN would stop showing that Oakland "relinquished" picks in round 1, 2, 3, 4 & 7 and haven't had a winning season since 2003. We know... :bag:

Don't see this as a positive for Floyd at all and confused by all the love. Guy is stuck behind a future hall of famer getting the scraps for the next 5-6 years. Sure, Fitz & Boldin managed to both put up numbers a few seasons, but that was with future HoFer Warner throwing to them.

Pretty disappointed in where all the 1st round WR's landed, the only 1 with a legit shot at being the #1 on their team is Blackmon so I bump him down less than the others.
I don't think Floyd will be behind Fitz; more like alongside, but across the field.
Cute. How often they gonna throw to that side of the field instead of Fitz' side? WR2's can still have productive fantasy seasons but ideally I like my fantasy WR's to be the #1 target on their team, call me crazy.
So you'll be avoiding Victor Cruz, Jordy Nelson, Antonio Brown, Eric Decker types?Biggest question is if Kolb can be good. If he can, I think both guys will be fine.
Why can't I cherry pick the many WR2's that did nothing last year if you can cherry pick the few that did?
I agree with Buckna. Victor Cruz has Eli. Jordy has Rodgers. A Brown has Big Ben. Decker just upgraded to Peyton. These are all top tier QBs. Arizona has Kolb and/or Skelton and has a bottom half of the league offense. This is cherry picking from teams that can support two viable fantasy starters. I do not want the second best WR on a bottom half offense, regardless of talent. I see a knucklehead factor on a losing team and will avoid Floyd in all drafts.
I understand your point, but Buckna made a blanket statement that all he wants are #1 WRs on their teams. Clearly there are WRs who aren't the #1 target who are worthy fantasy starters. If you think Floyd will fail, that's fine, but I absolutely disagree with that blanket statement.
I said "ideally" and even said WR2's can still have productive seasons. This thread said round 1 winners and losers, a guy drafted in the top half of the nfl draft as the 2nd Wr off the board going to a team where he has NO HOPE of ever being the #1 guy is a disappointing fantasy development. That doesn't mean he won't be a solid #2, that it's a doesn't make football sense or he will never contribute, but you can't tell me that most people weren't hoping/expecting he would go to a team where he would have had a shot to be the #1.

For sure, really. Titans had the dead last ranked rushing OFFENSIVE LINE according to PFF. And CJ still had 1400 all-purpose yards. It takes a special talent to do even that much. Give the guy a break. He's still a monster. If there has ever been a buy-low for him, with Hutchinson coming and whomever they draft, it's now.
