Women's March on Washington (1 Viewer)

Those images do not prove that they were using the term "Tea bagger".  Your side was making the derogatory references to begin with.  You're trying to put two unrelated things together to make a point.  Like a michael moore documentary:  show a picture of a white guy, show a picture of a business and go "See?  Proof that the greedy white guys are ruining everything".

And guys like you lap it up and go "YEAH!  You're right!".

  It is pretty clear that all these people who wore tea bags on the head had no idea it might mean something else.

But you are wrong about who used the term first, it was the Tea Party crowd and it has been documented:

The evolution of the word 'tea bagger'

Was President Obama speaking derogatively when he referred to the Tea Party as "tea baggers"? That's the topic of some debate after a review of Jonathan Alter's book, The Promise: President Obama, Year One, revealed that Obama used the term in November 2009. The grassroots movement didn't always consider "tea bagger" a slur: Early Tea Partiers innocently embraced the term until they discovered its vulgar connotations (see also the 1998 John Waters movie Pecker). In a twist, some conservatives have recently advocated that the word be reclaimed. Here's a look at the evolution of the insult:

Feb. 27, 2009
At the first anti-stimulus "New American Tea Party" rally in Washington D.C., a protestor carries a sign reading "Tea Bag the Liberal Dems before they Tea Bag You!!" The Washington Independent's David Weigel calls it "the best sign I saw."

March 2
Americans for Prosperity, an anti-tax group, is one of the first Tea Party organizations to advocate sending tea bags to elected officials to protest the stimulus package. Several other lobby groups follow suit.

April 1
Several Tea Party protest sites encourage readers to "Tea bag the fools in DC." Jay Nordlinger at National Review Online later admits: "Conservatives started [using the term]... but others ran and ran with it."

April 9
Rachel Maddow is the first to mock the Tea Party's use of the phrase on her left-leaning MSNBC show. "Even Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina is getting in on the hot tea-bagging action," she says, stifling laughter. (Watch Rachel Maddow joke about the "tea baggers")

So, as I said earlier, it was the American Left who started to use it as a derogatory term (of course).

This is what you said Max:

Those images do not prove that they were using the term "Tea bagger".  Your side was making the derogatory references to begin with.

My point  is, which you can't disprove, is that the Tea Partiers used it first, oblivious to the other meaning, which led to the ridicule of their ignorance of the term. They weren't derogatorily called teabaggers until after they used the phrase to describe themselves.

First known use was 2/27/2009 by a member of the New American Tea Party.

(It's right there in the article you just quoted.)

He's right. It's an alternative fact.

My point was that your side was using it as a derogatory term to begin with.  Which is exactly what I said.  You even quoted it in a failed attempt at "gotcha!".

BeaverWrecker thinks only illegals voted in that polling.  Sad.
Oh man, I have so many good comebacks for that.  Probably not "excellent" so I'll hold back and you can escape one of the worst burns ever.

It would have been YUUGGEE!

Max you were :own3d:

The argument you were making was over who used it first.  You denied my claim that they first used the term. Once again, your exact words:

Those images do not prove that they were using the term "Tea bagger".  Your side was making the derogatory references to begin with.

It is documented that it was Tea Party people who first used the term, and you can't provide any proof to the contrary. It was only after they made fools of themselves by self-identifying as teabaggers, that their critics started using it against them. Hard to say, but the term may not have been ever used derogatorily unless the Tea Party crowd had  they not used it first, from which hilarity and derision resulted.

Huh?  Literally I posted "Your side was making the derogatory references to begin with".  I even bolded it in red for you.  The Tea Party did not use it as a derogatory term.

Wait, isn't "tea-bagging" what Peyton Manning allegedly did to a female trainer?

And the tea fools used that term proudly about themselves?

Probably because you guys use the report button a little too much and the mods are tired of it.  Just a guess.

Perhaps BOTH sides can throttle back on the insults of others and stop using the report button altogether.  And perhaps Heidi Klume will agree to make some sex with me this year too.

People really use the report button?

That's a real snowflake attitude.

After you said Those images do not prove that they were using the term "Tea bagger".

I proved by the images at the link that the Tea Party people were using the term first. That was the point,  they brought it on themselves, and of course they wouldn't use it as a derogatory term.

Using the term as a derogatory reference - WHICH THE 2ND SENTENCE CLARIFIED.

Then your first sentence was irrelevant and superfluous as it would to pointless to mention who used it first. Your first sentence was in response to what I said earlier and I never claimed the critics didn't use it first as a derogatory term (wouldn't expect the Tea Party crowd to do so, would you?)

It was first used by the Tea Party people, until it was explained to them that there was another meaning

Ughh...So you're going to tell me what I meant? :lmao:

Geebus - you need to get another hobby.  We can be done now because you're apparently to focused on finding an alt-meaning where there was none to prove some kind of iGotcha.

JFC.

No, I used my exact words to show again what I meant and what you specifically responded to, which was who used the term teabagger first.

He goes until he's right & you're wrong no matter what the reality is

Since this thread started off about women but has turned in to one more about Max, I figure this is a good place to get something off my chest about Max's avatar pic.

I'm creepy old for her and as a feminist, I try not to objectify women but I think all of us can agree that she's very attractive.   But if I ever saw her pout/vacant stare in real life, I think I'd have a tough time disassociating her from Max's views.

We'd hopefully find other common ground.

No more attacking Jesus than his use of Geebus, which you had no issue with.
I'm sure the FC part of JFC is the offensive part.  But it's okay to attack Jesus, right, but no one better not criticize a raging angry protester, minority, or other groups you libs need votes from.  Don't be a hypocrite.

False Equivalency Alert!

And Godfrey Daniel! I didn't attack Jesus, it is just an expression, so unless you are some sort of prude as far as profanity is concerned, get over it.

:lmao:

Taking Jesus' name in vain is quite offensive to many religious people.  There's plenty of "expressions" that denigrate women, gays, and minorities too.  Don't hide behind "just an expression".  Own your bigotry.

You guise!!!!    I think my wife might go back to work soon!!  All because she met some potential female employer at a bar when she was supposed to be marching.  They bonded over choice of footwear in the rain!  Guise!!!!!!!

Tell me again this march was worthless.  Nuts to you.

You're better than this.  I've seen you prove it.  Move along.  Let's bash some SEC schools.

Never once saw you call anyone else out for using this, not one time ever that I recall. If I am wrong, please provide a link to the contrary.
