Work out apps/programs (1 Viewer)

not gonna lie, gyms are not my favorite places. But eyeing down 45 and working too much is taking a toll on the waistline and health.

Looking to join a local planet fitness but don't really have an idea on what a good workout routine for my goals would be.

So I guess i'm looking for apps or plans I could DL on my phone, to walk me though a good work out routine, maybe even track my progress. I really can't afford a personal trainer right now, maybe if I get going to the gym routine to stick, I would consider it

My main goals are:

• loose the 25+ lbs extra, mainly around the waist—waist size growing out of 36, want to be back at a 32.

• Better muscle overall. Not get huge, just some better definition.

• Gain better cardio, would love to run but my knees are kinda shot

I know diet has a lot to do with it and i'm working on that, but now I need to kick it into a higher gear.

so any suggestions?

A few I have downloaded and don’t use because I haven’t decided which to really go with since they somewhat require a subscription.

Strava

DDP Yoga

Peloton

Daily Burn

Jefit app

Free if you use their basic workouts or create your own custom workouts.  I've been using it for the past year and love it.

if you don't join the gym https://darebee.com/   has some interesting challenges and programs, some requirement no equipment.

fit and skinny two different things.

diet and definition go hand in hand.
that site is pretty cool.

fit/skinny.....i guess I just want to shed the extra weight now. Then I guess work on the definition once I find my abs under the layers of blubber

And whatever app your watch/tracker is associated with. If you don't have one I'd recommend getting one but understand cost is a factor. I default most of my workouts to Strava. I have an Apple watch and multiple Garmin products. The Garmin Connect app is a good one if you have a Garmin watch.

Focus T25 (25 minute workouts -- cardio, core, abs, weights/resistance, some yoga/plyometrics)

I'd recommend Insanity, too, but it's probably a bit too much at 45 right away.  I had my best results with that program about 7 years ago.

I've dropped 45 lbs eating better, cut out all alcohol except on Fri/Sat and been doing T25 3-4 days a week since mid April.  The program is 6 days a week, but I skip the days where they have you work out with weights and just do my own lifting program.  Best shape I've been in since shortly after college.

I just downloaded the Beach Body app on my FireStick, signed up for their annual subscription (which my wife also uses) and off I went.  You can get the app on your phone too.  You also have access to ALL of their workout programs (there are a ton).
