Work situation (co-worker trashing me) (1 Viewer)

In my experience, people who have a scheduled WFH day tend to be VERY defensive when it gets brought up. To me, that means that they feel a little guilty about the effort that they're putting in but dont want to admit it.
Yeah they probably just start whole threads about being called out on it over at www.WFHWednesday.com.

You're kinda missing the point of this whole thing but that's ok. Can't be easy to post,  "work" and watch The Price is Right in your sweat pants at the same time.

I'm sure you'd be totally cool with a co worker throwing you under the bus to your boss' boss because you take an extra 30 minutes for lunch (which is all this boils down to, based on the email that I got)

Oddly enough, I'm spending my first Friday in forever in an office because I started a new job this week and my RSA token hasn't shown up yet so I can't log in by VPN. It's a pretty new team within a huge organization so minor things like that slipped through the cracks during onboarding. Of the 10 guys on the team, only two of us are in the office today, but somehow those eight others can be relied upon to get their #### done despite the temptation that is TPIR and the wealth of streaming options available to people these days.

As for the rest, if it was only the attempts at ratting you out that led to this story, I'd agree with you. But the fact that you got documentation placed on you for "only" taking an extra 30 mins at lunch says that either you're a huge **** to many of your co-workers, not just this woman, or you're not giving us the full story. No manager documents this kind of thing for an employee that they aren't trying to lay the groundwork for eventually letting go.

Congrats on the new gig.

Obviously I have no way of detailing the total state of the workplace. All I can tell you is that

A) In the ~1 year that I've been there, I haven't had a single issue with any other co-worker. Nothing.

B) Other than this issue, my bosses, the people on my team and everyone I work with (assistants, people in other offices, senior management, etc) have nothing but positive things to say. I had a glowing review and pretty much all the assistants (including people that have had open arguments with other members of my team) consistently tell me I'm the easiest on my team to work with. They come to me with questions on other people's accounts because they dont want to "bother" the other people when they're in the middle of things. Earlier this week, the manager that supervises all the assistants sent me a separate email thanking me for my availability and willingness to help the new people. (who they specifically assigned my territory because they know I'll be a good resource)

C) 3 different people immediately gave up Valerie for her behind my back comments. (My boss also told me that others have come to him with complaints about her attitude. I didn't mention her by name. He was able to guess it immediately when I said "a member of the team")  I didn't have to ask. One of them asked why I was eating at my desk, I said that it was suggested that I put a little extra time in and they immediately ratted her out for talking about me pretty much every time I walk out the door.

If anyone there other than Val dislikes me or if they're laying the groundwork to fire me, they're doing a Meryl Streep level acting job.
