Worst halftime show ever? (1 Viewer)

I like this new approach of just being as ridiculous as possible, I hope it continues, does anyone really care?

At least with Janet Jackson there was the "wardrobe malfunction" which provided something to talk about afterward. This? Not so much.

No way. It had Slash playing Sweet Child O Mine guitar solo. So no matter what else happened, it cannot be the worst ever.

This is the NFL's BEST argument for having the Superbowl in a warm weather neutral city

Give the team with the best regular season record you stop teams sitting their stars in week 16 and 17

And all you may lose is this atrocity

Who picks the halftime show for the Superbowl? Is it the NFL, the network, the host, or some Superbowl XLV committee? Whoever it is, let's hope that they never have a say again. Ever.

When I heard it was Black Eyed Peas scheduled, it was auto-channel change before anything happened. Can't tolerate hearing 'I Gotta Feeling' again the rest of my life.

FOOTBALL -- needs a rock and roll halftime show.

PLEASE next year get ACDC! a 5 song set of back in black, shook me , thunderstruck , hells bells , and for those about to rock would be the best HT show ever!

Ok, now to be the critic: Halftime show had good theatrics, BEP sux something awful, them with Slash=horrible, Slash on guitar anytime=AWESOME! Usher saved it from life support and turned it in to decent, he can dance. Then BEP came back, made it bad again...just my thoughts. GO PACK!

I'm very interested in your opinion. Would you try this post again when you're sober?

Maybe the only true great halftime show was Paul McCartney
I thought U2 in 2002 was awesome. Just thinking about when they were playing Where The Streets Have No Name while scrolling the names of the people that died on 9/11 on that huge screen still gives me the chills.

The last good one was U2. I hate how they hollywood-up a football game that is good enough without the help.

I was just glad that they finally had an act where the singers weren't pushing 70. How many years can we handle The Stones, The Who, Bruce, etc. I thought they did a good job, although I agree in that I would prefer to see a young rock band.

The bottom line is that the majority of the older generation is going to say that any younger band was terrible and any older band was amazing no matter how it actually goes.

The Black Eyed Peas sounded horrible (and those songs annoy me), but honestly so did all the older band that they had at the Super Bowl in recent years. I would imagine that being at midfield of a football stadium with a platform that was set up in 3 minutes isn't great for acoustics.

I'll give them this, I was at least entertained for about 2 minutes of their ~20 minute performance tonight. I thought that girl singing Axyl was actually decent. That's more than I can say for the The Who or some of the other older bands when they had to perform in less than ideal conditions during the SB.

I am an older guy (41) and my family liked it. It wasn't the best thing I have ever watched, but while putting away the food and getting the 2nd half beer/snacks ready, it wasn't bad.

I have never been to a Super Bowl, but for those that have, what do you do at half? I mean, when I go to a game, that is bathroom break, load up on beer/food time.

I think they should just hold an MMA title match at half and all would be well.

At least I could hear the music when the who played (Maybe they should have had it on mute though) Tonight was God awful! What groups pass off as having musical talent these days. Take them out of the studio away from auto tune and major editing and you get SUCK!

As a younger viewer, that sucked. I enjoyed Slash, and that was about it.

The performers on the field were pretty cool though.

I don't know, I just don't think it's too much to ask that if you are going to put on a half time show that is musically oriented, that you ask that the talent be able to sing. And boy, that was painful to listen to.

I thought it was pretty good, but I'm a sucker for all the catchy crap.

No matter what, I think it's better than most bands who were in their prime 30 yrs ago.

Thought it was pretty good. Much better than dragging out a bunch of old as dirt rock bands which they've been doing lately.

This was entertaining and at least The Black Eyed Peas are relevant in 2011.
