Worst part of ESPN's first day coverage? (1 Viewer)

Steve Young running his mouth after every team didn't draft an offensive player he was sure they should have drafted in the 1st round.

They did seem to cover all the picks thoroughly unlike past drafts. Hopefully they will do that with the rest of it unlike past drafts where they didn't talk about most of the late round picks.

Keyshawn wanting every team to take a WR
I thought that was funny/ignorant. Exactly something I would expect from Keyshawn. And great pick of an analyst with Keyshawn also. One of the biggest punks in the entire league. I hate that guy.

1) The CONSTANT coverage of Brady Quinn. Camera ALWAYS in his face. Interviewing him like 2 or 3 times before he was finally picked. Continuous reference to him by Boomer and the crew. Got REALLLLY old...

2) Not really ESPN or anything, but the friggin' Under Armor commercial we had to watch every....single.....time.... Ugh. Do I really have to see Steve Spurrier THAT much? "Click clack"

Was anyone else distracted by Steve Young ears? And eyebrows?
We were wondering if he is trying out for a part as an elf.....the ears were really distracting. His face looks like someone was pulling back the flesh.....tight/stretched.

The total lack of cohesion.

Half the time, this "panel" didn't know what to say or when to say it.

I have always been an ESPN Draft Day guy, but good lord, this was a joke. It was if it was their first year covering the draft.

I have never heard so much silence and the use of -

"ummmm"

"okay we ... wait ... I ...."

"do we have that tape or ... oh, we are going to ... wait..."

"you got to get help for your QB"

"I think they pick a WR here"

"Okay, the Sand Di ... well, no... we are going to g ...ummmmm"

It looked like Chris Mortenson and Steve Young wanted to kill each other. :goodposting:

They disagreed on several picks and would cut each other off....too funny.

And Mel Kiper looks like a cartoon character. Is he Quentin Tarantino's long lost cousin?

the one thing i am happy about is this year they didnt have Berman telling you who the pick was before the commissioner announced it. That annoyed the death out of me last year. 2 seconds before every pick was announced he would say something stupid like, " A cab driver on the way over told me this pick is Matt Leinart." Or whatever. God, he's such a tool.

You nailed it right there! :lmao:

Youngs Brady love.

Anyone who watched college football knew Brady is simply not that good

I still dont like how they show people on the phone right before they walk to the podium. Let the announcer make the selection, then show the phone on tape delay

I thought Keyshawn did well yesterday, and he certainly didn't come across as a punk. The worse part about yesterdays coverage was looking at Steve Young's hair. His hairdo made his ears look really big and stick out, and everytime i looked at him I thought of a leprechaun in a little green suit.

agreed. much better than boomer and mort

I was more than happy to watch the draft on the NFL Network. The ESPN guys are getting old, Kiper is smart but he is annoying.

Agree with an earlier post about Dieon being the only negative on NFL Network. He could be the long lost brother of the Wayan brothers, he looks like one of their characters.

Those opening skits are horrible. I'm not sure which NFL front office people were doing more...laughing or cringing.

'Call me back when you have a real offer!' (slams the phone)

(Stands up and declares) 'Allright people we're on the clock!' (No one reacts, sits back down)

I couldn't beleive how arrogant and rude Steve Young was. Especially towards Chris Mortensen. The draft coverage would be a lot better if they let Kiper, Mortensen etc. have more time talking. The talking heads don't even seem to follow the draft up to it.

NFLNetwork, IMO, was much better.

We're talking about this year, not every year since 1985. Keep up.
