Everyone has played 8 games, so who is bringing up the rear? Seems like a tight race between Oakland and Arizona....but I have to give the edge to Oakland for the sheer futility and embarrassing lack of discipline.

ETA: before everyone blows a gasket for including Pitt - they are 2-6....I included all 1 and 2 win teams, and SF because, well, they're SF ;)

Art Shell is the worst coach in football. He looks like he could fall asleep at any moment on the sideline. This team would not be this bad with a better coach. Not saying they'd be good but, 6-10 bad instead of 2-14 bad.

I say Oakland, just due to the fact of absolutely no offensive threat.

Teams gameplan to just attack the QB and get them off the field.

At least in Pitt and Arizona, they have offensive weapons and do keep the game moving.

The most valuable player for the Radiers has to be Lechler the punter. I just get sick trying to watch that team move the ball on offense.

I'd never thought I'd say it, but I can't wait to see Aaron Brooks come back...if he does. I bet that "injury" hasn't healed so fast after watching the O-line let the QB get pounded game after game.

Oakland hands downs......THE WORST!!!!

Record-wise, it's obviously Arizona. But just watching the teams over the last 9 weeks, I would definitely say Oakland. That team has absolutely no heart. The coach does indeed look completely disinterested, and shows absolutely no emotion at all. The players are massively underachieving. The O-line couldn't block my grandmother from sacking the QB. Walter looks worse than a statue, and when he's not acting like one, he looks confused and lost (you would too if you had that O-line "blocking" for you).

The biggest loser in Oakland, outside of Al Davis, are the fans. Not a Raiders fan at all, but even I will admit that they have some of the most rabid fans out there. There defense is playing hard, but that offense couldn't score on a high school team methinks... (ok, ok, maybe college)

Although it looks like from the post that NinersK voted for Tampa, the first thing I thought of when I saw the one vote for Tampa was Sabertooth must've been in here!

Tampa looks pretty bad as well
I don't know that they look like the worst team in the league... but if you look at some defensive stats.... you can tell Brooks and Co. are in line for a major overhaul after the season. Since they worked the cap to make room to sign Simms to a fat contract, and Simms will be re-signed now for peanuts again.... look for them to make a big push to land both Dwight Freeney and Cato June from the Colts, should neither be franchised (Freeney might if they can afford it).Actually, in thinking about it, I think Tampa might be the worst team in the league right now... they have something like the 31st offense and the 30th defense, and are really only a miracle play away from being 1-7.While I wouldn't dispute Oakland as having the worst offense in the league, I actually don't think many would contest that Oakland is playing better defense. And unlike in their previous 7-9 and 5-11 seasons, where they would lose by field goals and random bad calls, four of their losses have been by multiple scores.

This poll is ridiculous considering the fact that Oakland beat the crap out of Arizona 22-9 even with 5 Oakland turnovers. It was as if Oakland was trying to lose with those 5 turnovers yet still owned Arizona by a double digit beat down.

The results are just biased since it was done right after the Raider game.

No, its because the Raiders are HORRID.At least Arizona gave the Bears a run for their money. They also looked halfway decent to begin the season. The Raiders have looked abysmal pretty much all year, and the coaching staff just seals the deal.

They were better that day. That does not mean they are better overall. Just like no one honestly believes that the Dolphins are a better team in general than the Bears (except for maybe a few delusional Dolphin fans).

This is courteousy of WHEELHOUSE...........

10 reasons why the Raiders just might be the worst team in the NFL, without mentioning Art Shell

1. Only team with less than 1000 yards passing

2. Overall 47.4 QB rating (worst in the NFL)

3. Been sacked 44 times - 2nd worst has been sacked 29 times (CLE)

4. Only team with less than 2000 yards of total offense (1823) 2nd worst is TB (2004 yards)

5. Only team with less than 100 points scored

6. 112 total first downs - fewest of all teams

7. -9 turnover ratio. Only PIT is worse with -11

8. 136.4 yards rushing allowed per game - Only 5 teams allowing more (STL, CLE, NYJ, TEN, IND)

9. 19 FG made by their opponent - tied with WAS for most FG allowed in the NFL

10. 44 times punted - Only 5 teams have punted more (BUF, BAL, CAR, TEN, TB)

My thoughts: Oakland is definitely in the running for the worst team in the NFL, but their defense is better then a lot of defenses out there. It really has been their awful offensive play (thanks Art and Crew) for the dismil season.

Worst team - Oakland.

Biggest loser - Pittsburgh. All of those other teams up there were expected to have about the record they have now - except for maybe Arizona and Miami. To have the reigning superbowl champ with two wins half way through the season makes them the biggest loser by default.

Holy schnikies....I knew it was bad....but damn. That works out to:125 pass yards per game

5.5 sacks per game

228 Total yards per game

11.5 points per game

That is absolutely horrendous! :lmao:

As bad as Arizona has been over the years, its losing streak is its longest since dropping the final eight under Joe Bugel in 1991. The Cardinals, in their third season under coach Dennis Green, haven't started a season 1-8 since 1978, when they were in St. Louis and coached by Bud Wilkinson.
LinkWill the Cardinals win another game this season if they don't beat the Lions next week?

Detroit

at Minnesota

at St. Louis

Seattle

Denver

at San Francisco

at San Diego
