Worst waiver move I've ever made (1 Viewer)

So I'm in a non-ppr league in which I am loaded at RB but have a very poor receiving corp. Jordy Nelson was my number 1. I had recently picked up Victor Cruz, and although I was happy with his production, was scared to start him. So about 11:45AM, I see a blurb from one of the morning show guys that Terrell looks AWESOME and is running all his routes. Thinking that a healthy TO could solve my issues, I dump the over-achieving Cruz and get Terrell before the rest of my league wakes up to this hot news.

:bag:

In before some smart### says something like "keep us informed" or "I can sleep better tonight knowing this", like they are the first person to ever make such a joke.

Terrell Owens - WR - Bengals

TMZ.com reports free agent Terrell Owens was rushed to the hospital last Thursday after emergency personnel were called to his Los Angeles apartment.

Both an ambulance and police were dispatched, though Owens was whisked to the hospital before police arrived. TMZ reports officers "followed up" with T.O. at the hospital. He has since been released. No further details are available, but the implications are grim. Stay tuned.

That is bad, but nothing was worse than blowing all your WW money in week 1 for Frisman Jackson 5-6 years ago. I personally was not one who did, but if memory serves me right, a couple of guys did just that in my leagues.

I'll see your Frisman Jackson and raise you a Curtis Conway. :lmao:

I have to say, I can't recall ever making a great Sunday morning move. Ever.

Sunday morning moves typically involve some sort of huge over-reaction to news. This was just brutal.

I dropped Bowe last year (whom I drafted in the 4th, 5th, 6th something like that) for some flavor of the week - right before he went on the huge tear. I still won the league, but hated seeing him blow up on another team's (my brother-in-law actually) roster each week following that.

If he's in a league where Cruz was available on the WW, I don't know why anyone would even bother talking about it. But maybe I can get in on that league and rule it.

Could have been worse, you could have added McCluster. :excited:

In 2002 or 2003 I benched Marvin Harrison playing at TB on Monday night. TB defense was the shizz. Anyway, MH torches TB for something like 180 yds and 2 TDs.

First and last time I benched a stud.

Fantasy Rule #1 NEVER, EVER bench your studs.

Fantasy Rule #2 If their not on an NFL team, they don't belong on your fantasy team.

Fantasy Rule #3 We are our own worst enemy.

Fantasy Rule #4 Repeat at Rule #1

I've got that beat. I dropped Deangelo Williams the morning of his breakout and fantasy mvp season for.... Sage F'ing Rosenfels. This was when Schaub had a mystery illness and I had to find a QB. It was between Deangelo and Ryan Torain (I completely bought into the hype train). It cost me the championship.

Yea I dropped Deangelo that year as well and he ended up the number 1 fantasy player. The year Miles Austin brokeout I dropped him the week before. This year I dropped Pierre Garcon, so If you got him, he'll probably finish top ten with my history of dropping stars.

I've made way too many bone headed WW moves to mention in this thread. The best advise I can give you is learn from this lesson and don't beat yourself up about it.

Last year, I needed a last-minute injury replacement at WR in Week 3, I picked up Stevie Johnson, which turned out to be a great move. Other than that, not so much.

Last year a guy in my league and in my division dumped Foster just after the draft and picked up Ward. I had the #1 priority and scooped him up for the duration of the season. McCoy and Foster wasnt all that bad a back field last season. Just putting it in prospective.
