Would you trade Ingram for Powell straight up? (1 Viewer)

It appears the Jets are trying to trade Forte and in the FBG email this morning it is suggested Powell will be a 3 down back.

I am worried about Powell due to the terrible team around him.  They have no outside weapons, there line is not great, and outside of Powell they have nothing.  That will be good for volume but he may not ever score.

Ingram should have a similar workload to last year.  The only way he gets a smaller work load is due to injury or if AP is his past self and dominates.  It could happen but I wouldn't bet on it.

Whether you accept the trade or not would hinge on what you needed out of this roster spot.  If you need a higher upside play then I would go with Powell.  He should dominate touches and if the Jets are better than expected he could be a steal.  If you want a safer play then I would go with Ingram because I am projecting a season similar to last year.  I think his ceiling is capped unless AP gets hurt but his floor should be solid.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Powell is going to be the main guy even if it's a bad offense with or without Forte but Ingram has a lot more competition this year with Peterson and Kamara. Plus Peterson is likely to be the goal line back.

I want Powell over Ingram.  The Saints do not use Ingram the way he should be used.  He was the downfall of my team last year and I can't recommend anyone else to have to watch him continue to not get handed the ball.  The Saints don't think Peterson is done.  They brought him in for a reason and it's going to be to use him.

I think this is the year of Bilal Powell.  And the Jets may suck overall, but he may get a lot of garbage time plays.

He had 10 TD"s and over 1300 combined yards with 46 receptions.   I don't see how that would be a downfall to any team.  Those are quality numbers.  Granted he could have had more but this is not the downfall of a team.

You can't just look at the total for the year and see if he was a good fantasy player.  3 of his 10 TDs came in weeks 16 and 17.  Too little too late.

Six of the first ten weeks last year he had 5 points or less in a 1 point PPR League.  This is not something that is good for a number one running back.

He had less than ten attempts rushing in five different games.  In a 25-20 win against Seattle they gave him the ball 3 times.  With no receptions.  That's zero points.

Again, I just can't see him as a number one running back for anybody's fantasy team.

Edited to add, I like Ingram.  I like his talent.  I don't like his situation.

I agree completely that he is maddening to own and his usage at times was bizarre.  I owned him in a couple leagues and while he had some off weeks he also had solid weeks.  Like you, I wouldn't want him as my RB1 but he is a great value for where he is going in most drafts.
