WOW Ted Ginn! (1 Viewer)

I stated that Evilgrin left out one of the great Seinfeld quotes in his mock and it would apply at some point in the first round.

Well this was it......

George......."My little man's an idiot"

LMAO at the Dolphins. What a bunch of idiots. Ginn will bust bigtime. No way he is worth the #9 pick.

i'm guessing they drafted him over brady thinking they can still trade for green
Of course, Green's asking price just went back up again. Oh, and :D @ Jets fans' reaction . . . at least until their pick comes up (in which case :bag: again!).

There are a lot of people that are very high on Ginn - certainly more than me. But did anyone think he was a top 10 talent???

With so much talent at WR in this draft...and they let Welker walk to NE...then they spend their #9 pick to replace him? Just didn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Ted Ginn is one of the most overrated of all the top tier WR IMO...he doesn't run precise routes, his hands are questionable...yes he has speed but Anthony Gonzalez runs precise routes, has good hands, and he also runs a 4.35...no sense whatsoever.

I just don't get how you can get a whole staff (officials, coaches and scouts) to sign off on this pick. Way too many other valuable players on the board. The Dolphins are crazy.

Maybe they are thinking that he falls to late Round 1 and they still trade up to get him. How many picks do they have in Round 2 and 3?

I don't know what if funnier. The number of threads on this or the number of people who actually convinced themselves that Ginn was a 2nd round talent.

He's short, he's injury prone, and he now has monumental expectations. I'm betting against Ted Ginn being a stud WR...evah. He's a great return guy at least.

This franchise has been mismanaged for quite a few years now. This offseason doesn't look to be much different. I actually like Ginn but I don't really see what Miami is thinking here. They have far bigger and more important areas to be addressed.

With Taylor, Thomas, Traylor and a few other key players aging I don't think this is the last time that Miami will be picking in the top 10 in the next few years.

Then, why not take Quinn at 1.09 and trade up in the later stages of round 1 to get Ginn?...

In other words, the Dolphins just drafted Devin Hester at 1.09. Let that sink in for a second.

I don't know about #9, but I really like Ginn. He has Steve Smith quickness, and with some coaching I think he can be a great NFL WR.

Maybe because they don't want Quinn at all and have one of the 2nd tier QBs targeted.... Beck or Stanton? Or maybe because Ginn would not be there after pick 1.19 and Mia knows it. SF, GB, Jack and Tenn were all targeting him if yo ask me and it's very possible that Mia has info that leads them to believe this as well. Even if the idea is to trade back up into round one. Mia has a better hope that Quinn falls to the 20s than Ginn.

I'm not saying it is a master stroke of genius. But, my father-in-law is a Fins fan and I'm hoping for his sake that there is some plan at work here that still results in Quinn wearing a Miami uniform.

Oh yeah, he has average hands too. Dolphins really blew it.

Can't teach heart. Guys like Steve Smith are good because the make themselves good. Ginn's mentality isn't anything like Smith's

At least they have the QB position nailed down to deliver him the ball. :goodposting:

Is it really that bad of a pick? I'm assuming most people feel they could've traded down & still got him, but I'm not so sure. He easily could've gone before pick 20, IMO. If you really like a player, you draft him if you feel you might lose him trading down.

As far as Ginn the player, there's nobody more explosive. His field speed & burst are incredible. If he learns the nuances of the game & puts on a little muscle, he could be a Pro Bowler.
