WOW Ted Ginn! (1 Viewer)

Okay ....Let me first say I do not like the pick at 9, however I'm reading this thread and there is alot of false information being posted about Ginn.

1. Ginn is not injury prone 1 injury rolled by Roy Hall in celebration of National championship td does not make you injury prone.

2. Heart...hmmm...How about coming into college recruited as the number 1 db in the nation and your new coach says due to lack of wr's on the roster you are now going to be a wr???? Never 1 word of complaint and understood that the switch would better his new team. I'm thinking had he been a db at OSU would have been a incredible prospect and really alot of press in Columbus felt the move to wr would kill his NFL stock later.

3. Grew up in a home under a long time coach and is extremly football intelligent.

4. Gives Miami instant credibilty in punt returns and kickoff returns which also effects field position.

5. Improved a 100% from sophmore to junior year in route running and catching the football.

6. Oh yeah runs a sub 4.3 and decent hand(No Willie Gault here)

7. Could be flipped to db and would be sucessful. I know this could be debated, however is a option.

Ginn's negatives are never really had to go against alot of press coverage and really only a 2-3 route runner

the fly, WR screen and the turn and catch. I would say 85% of the time was doubled in a zone and given a ton of room. Let's face it Gonzo is a better receiver in my mind, BUT Ginn has a higher ceiling and can be a specialist. Ginn also sure took alot of heat away from Gonzo(which I love in Indy) for the same reason. Ginn's hands however you hear alot of bad press about them really has improved alot at OSU.

You can not teach speed and HEART and Ginn has both not to mention he's a coachable kid who is willing to play the team role and never really was a punk. I don't like his attitude late last season and his stare down of the Texas db after the bomb right before half, but Texas kid was also jawing Ginn early in the game. Ginn most times just flipped ball back to ref and showed class.

Miami took him early and I think they could have traded down a bit, but to say Ginn would have made it to the second round is laughable. I think Hester proved how valueable a specialist can be and Ginn should give a call to thank him for helping his stock. I was shocked as anyone and the fact they took Beck does help a little. I'm sure Miami fans are stunned right now, but when you see Ginn in the open field and blowing by people like they are standing still...Well just keep a open mind Phin fans he's pretty dag gone good...maybe not #9 good and then again maybe he'll prove his worth.
That's a major (bleeping) problem my friend. That's why we all hate this pick. he will not be an NFL star at WR...sorry. Even CC talked mostly if not all about his return skills. Miami could have gotten a return guy like so many other teams did in the 3rd round. We need impact...we suck right now and we need to get better. Ginn was a luxury pick and might actually set the franchise back a bit.

So what you're saying is you don'tr like the pick? Seriously, for thos that feel Ginn is not going to be a good WR you really have to consider where he's gooing to be based what he's done. I think this how Cam see's it. He's already a great return man. But if you consider where his upside is as WR it's gets even better. I know I've posted this before but it's worth mentioning again:Ginn has 3 years exp as a WR.

He began his WR career in college.

He's coming out a year early which mean he's still growing physically.

He's a coaches son that is great student of the game. His learning curve is better than most which why he's grown so much a limited amount of time.

Guys, he's going to get better. As pointed out already, his growth from his Freshman year to last year ir remarkable. If you look at well he's performed against top flight DB's such as Hall and you realize they had no chance against Ginn. He blows by guys with his speed and running ability and Hall is a 4.3 guy. Think about that for a minute. He Blew by Hall who is considered one of the best in the class. He faced the best corners and sometimes double teams and still had a great year.

Now consider he will likely be facing teams DB2/3 and imagine what could do to them. He will continue to improve route running and he's still growing. And he's not going to get any slower. Miami knows what they are doing here.

Is this meant to inspire confidence in his receiving abilities? :(

If he can return kicks/punts and catch 40 balls he is a steal
:headbang: ORLY?In that case what do you think of the Patriots getting Wes Welker for a 2nd rounder?
Last year, Welker ranked 28th in kick return average and 14th in punt return average. He had zero return TD's, only 2 kick returns over 40 yards, and only 1 punt return over 20 yards. As a receiver he scored one TD and averaged only 10.3 ypc. I like the guy and appreciated the effort he gave, but he was in no way, shape or form a gamebreaker. Miami needs one badly. They also desperately need a QB and if Quinn turns out to be great, this admittedly may turn out to be the worst pick in Dolphins' history. But who knows right now if Quinn's going to be any good or not?
 Jackie Shipp down?

Eric Kumerow down?

John Bosa down?

They had some monumental disasters in the 80s. I don't like the Ginn pick either btw.
Believe me, I'm all too familiar with Miami's past draft disasters (you forgot Yatil Green). Clearly Kumerow is the gold standard. Not only did the Dolphins reach for a guy who turned out to be a bust, but they passed on a player they desperately needed, (Thurman Thomas), and that player killed them repeatedly for the next decade. Note the use of the word "may" in my statement. If Ginn stinks and Quinn's the next Johnny Unitas then yeah, this pick will live in infamy as Miami's worst ever. Hopefully that won't happen. My question is, are Fin fans now forced to root against Quinn for the rest of his career?

Hey, I'm looking for pics of Brady Quinn from the green room, including pics of his chick. A pic of his face when Ginn was drafted would be a major plus. Anyone have any ideas? I need it for something I'm working on tonight. Much thanks in advance!
