WR Chris Henry perfect fit for Cowboys? (1 Viewer)

There is no factual basis for this speculation (other than that Chris Henry has reportedly been lobbying Michael Irvin) so take this with a pinch of salt.

TO is elderly and Terry Glenn is beat-up. Crayton is OK but probably not destined for greatness. Chris Henry has awesome skills and could really explode in Dallas as a starting WR - look what he did for the Bengals as a number 3. Romo to TO, Henry and Witten with Barber and Jones in the backfield would be the Greatest Show on Turf #2.

The only problem is, he's obviously a psycho mentalist, but hey, so is Pacman, and they just traded for him.

He would be suspended a year to begin with. Vick will be back before Henry. That is if Henry went a whole year without another violation and history says it won't happen.

Jerry actually does care about character. It may seem like splitting hairs though. Jerry tries to see the good qualities in a person. Tries to get to the bottom of why a guy has been in trouble. `And parcells did help teach him the benefit of good character guys.

TO? He's been a jerk to a lot of people. But never in legal trouble and seems like a warrior on the field.

Tank? ESPN wrote a really good article on him. Tank doesnt seem like a bad guy. He just loves guns and had a couple of poor choices for friends.

Charles Haley? See TO

Demitrius Underwood? Medical issues (Bi-polar)

Pacman: This one I'm still trying to get my hands around. The way his deal and the trade was structured, there is minimal cost to the team if Pac screws up again. Everyone involved knows this is Pac's last chance. Jerry hedged this risk in just about every conceivable way. From salary for Pac, to getting draft picks back from Tenn, to stocking up on CBs through other means. So this is more or less an upside-only deal.

Henry? I would not touch him. He seems even worse than Pacman. But I can't say that I've studied him enough to fully know. I believe Dallas has made a statement saying they're not interested in him.

As an aside -- I looked up Pacman Jones on wiki and look what I found:

He was just :lmao: :lmao: trying to cause yet another thread to bash the Pacman signing with Dallas. If he was not then he is way off.

I had to go look for myself. I thought Godsbrother was just being funny, but he isn't making this up.

From the 1st paragraph of the Pacman writeup at Wikipedia:

:lmao: I love how you defend TO by saying he's "never [been] in legal trouble", but then the next guy after him has been in serious legal trouble, twice, involving violent crimes and guns, but he's still a good guy. How much grease did you have to put on those standards to make them slide that far for each guy? :lmao:

I'm sure you are, but I have every confidence you'll rise to the occasion!

M=S, did you read the ESPN article on Tank? If you did, you'd see what I'm talking about.

If you just want to bust on people, then fine. If you don't want to try to understand what people are trying to say and add to the discussion, then fine.

If you say so...
:lmao: I don't believe character plays any role at all when Jerry is signing a guy like Adam Jones. You think Parcells would do that? Even TO came to Dallas over Parcells' obvious disdain. What I expect to see over the near term is the complete unraveling of the character Parcells tried to instill in this program. Sorry, the days of Quincy Carter and Antonio Bryant aren't that long ago. Scoffing at Chris Henry a day after doing the contract with Adam Jones is laughable.

Yeah, yeah, he's just misunderstood. He farts butterflies and belches silly string, and he's great at kids parties. I'm sure he'll fit right in with the rest of the clowns on the roster.

So, sounds like he would be a great fit in Indy using smart guy's logic

Like all the players on everyone's favorite team all are in Church every weekend. The truth is nobody knows everything all these guys do.

No, this thread was not an attempt on creating real football or a fantasy perspective on Chris Henry. It was an attempt to smear Dallas and most of the posts in this thread validate that.

Yes, people can pile on the smack talk about Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. Bring up the past, blah blah blah. What if these "troubled" players get a shot in Dallas and become better people and productive NFL players? Is that such a terrible thing?

Save your breath bud, it's not going to help. Redskin fans (starter of this post) have been jealous of the Cowboys since the league began.Since we're a better team, they need to attack something since it won't be on the field. I'd be more worried about what Jim Zorn is doing during the offseason than creating threads geared in a negative tone towards Dallas.

i hate saying this because it feeds into the idea that if you have talent there will always be a place to play but......

KC could really use this guy

he is talented and would fit in with a lot of teams. he is a piece of #### that does not deserve to play in the NFL
