That doesn't mean he's clear. Part of the protocol is he is required to practice in full then they will evaluate him against his baselines. He could still be held out Sunday.

That's kind of interesting. It looks like MB & Ben were connecting, then suddenly just weren't.
Reading through the comments it seems like the Steelers have mostly changed their philosophy towards being run & defense oriented and the Jax game has led to them being more cautious. I don't get the sense that Bryant has been failing on the field. Not that it matters as it's Bryant's fault for losing his cool, and seriously Tomlin looks like the last NFL coach you'd want to piss off. And being a distraction is not something other head coaches want either. Bryant either needs to adjust to reality or else he is looking at a year of sitting.

The only reason for the Steelers to trade Bryant now would be if they wanted to remove the distraction element.
Otherwise whatever draft pick they could get for him now will be available again in the offseason. May as well keep him just in case they need him later in the year if the return isn't going to be different then than it is now.
They'd look pretty dumb taking a 5th rounder for him now, and then AB gets hurt when they're looking like a possible SB contender.

I can only assume you’re taking about the Michael thomas thread, in which there are several evangelist thomas truthers who dislike anyone coming in there and saying anything other than how amazing he is and how he is a top 5 godly wideout. BC that’s the only other thread I can think of where I had any issue at all with anyone.
Bryants situation does not upset me much at all I’m not losing any sleep over him whatsoever. I’m also perfectly good with fantasy football as a hobby. But ty for the concern! And btw the Bryant benching isn’t a Ff issue for me it’s a football issue and a sports issue to me. We’re talking sports in here and I simply gave my opinion on this sports matter.
You also presume to know whether I get upset or not about domestic abuse in sports. For the record I think that domestic abuse is disgusting as is rape culture and it permeates all facets of life not just sports.
I think you’re a really sensitive guy and that’s a good thing I guess? Maybe you don’t realize it but in trying to point out my negativity you have started a pretty negative vibe in here yourself.

I actually try to keep it positive and upbeat generally and try to be a productive member in the sp though so I’m taking his words to heart and maybe I have been slightly negative. Who knows. I can accept some constructive criticism.

I just picked him up in one league where I had been trying to trade for him all season. He's my 7th receiver and I can't help but think that he'll eventually become a bigger part of the offense. He needs to get his head on right and start doing the little things it takes to become successful.

He's either going to get the signal that PIT isn't putting up with this, he's signed through 2018 so suck it up buttercup; or he's going to completely self destruct and ruin whatever's left of his career.
WR7 I can see taking a chance on him. If my rosters went that deep I'd take a flier for sure.

Yeah, I have a feeling that his agent may be giving him some bad advice, too. I get it. He wants to get paid but he simply does not have any leverage in his current situation. Now if he starts playing like a man possessed, it's a win-win for him and the team.

Bell & Gordon are examples of guys coming off of suspensions that literally won leagues that year.
My point was proven.
Clearly not all drug related players come back and dominate-- but you know who else doesnt always come back and dominate-- injury returned players, players who signed with new teams, players with new coaches, players who "got in better shape"

He thought he'd come in this year and play well, maybe get a new contract next year or strike it big after 2018. If he falls behind JuJu the chances of that are completely out the window. .Tomlin is a blunt coach who doesn't really BS. The fact he said this tells me two things.
1) Bryant may not remotely get his role back/may be an healthy scratch.
2) Bryant is getting dealt.
I would be shocked if the 1st happened after all the hyping tthat was done of Bryant last AND this year. I'm betting on the 2nd. Of course, this could just be a hot take from Coach Mike,

I still don't see any trade scenario that is likely to occur - nobody will offer the Steelers enough to want to part with his potential. The Steelers are a title contender this year and having a physically talented WR as insurance is far better that a random 5th,6th, 7th round pick. By all accounts Bryant has been a great teammate when at the facility and he took his demotion to scout team well - he had great practices as a scout team WR. Bryant was reprimanded, demoted and made inactive due to his use of social media - seems like a pretty easy thing for him to fix in order to stay out of the dog house.
If a trade for a 5th, 6th, or 7th rounder is made I will think it's a mistake.

Before this last week's game I would have said Seattle would be in the market, but Richardson and Lockett really had nice games. I would put them out of the market for a WR at this point

As others have said, I'd be surprised if he's traded. While he may have considerable potential, I doubt any team would give more than a late round pick - particularly in light of his drug past suspension history where one more slip up would put him in Josh Gordon purgatory.
I also doubt he's much of a distraction - Tomlin clearly has control over the locker room and Bryant is only hurting himself.

If he's a healthy scratch and someone gets hurt, they suffer for that game. Sure, he gives them insurance long term, but he has significantly underwhelmed in his years in PIT, so what's to say that will change with an injury?
I see what you're saying and it makes sense, but a guy with such a piss poor attitude does more harm than good. What's to say he even tries when he gets an opportunity? He might double down on his feelings and have the idea of, well screw you guys I'm not even going to try now. Sure, loses him money when he latches on with another team, but I am not so sure he even cares by the way he's behaving. He's risking being suspended without pay with his current actions. Although, he's been quiet lately so maybe he's gotten the message.
FWIW, if the Steelers were my team, I'd be unhappy with a 5-7 round pick for someone of Bryant's perceived level of talent

If Bryant is truly going to put his nose to the grindstone and just work to improve and play the role he is given as he indicated, there isn't a pick/player they will realistically get back that would equate to his value.
Big if there,and obviously the driving force behind Tomlins lack of commitment to his role going forward.
With JuJu, AB, and Bryant that's about as perfectly complimentary group of receivers as you could ask for. 3 guys that can play outside and in the slot interchangeably and beat you over the top on any given route combination from any of those three spots is a rare grouping.
If they move him they have truly given up on him. For FF purposes, if that is the case, I wouldn't be investing anything significant to acquire him.
I think we see him active and play limited snaps next week. Eli Rogers didn't do anything to endear himself in his absence and Hunter lacks any semblance of ball skills. I'd bet on them holding and Martavis being a role player down the stretch.
They stuck with him through the suspension and rehab, I see no reason to sell low just because the guy wants the ball.

People say this a lot here. What is his value? I mean he hasn't done much in recent memory. He is 1 strike away from a 1 year suspension. All of that hurts his value. It's perhaps very possible that many in Steeler nation are over-valuing this guy just as much as Bryant is himself...
His value may be way lower than you think. He has risk being a head case and the 1 strike left severely hurts his value. Even on the Steelers, his play has been terrible.

Yup. This guy may be lacking a bit in maturity, and with an immature person, I could see a slip up given the frustration he is experiencing. One slip, and his value becomes Justin Blackmon's value.
Best move for both player and team may be to get something for him before this becomes an unmanageable situation. They still have Eli Rodgers, Justin Hunter, and DHB in case of emergency. I know none of those inspire fear in a defense, but MB hasn't inspired fear since 2015 either.

Chris Mortenson had some interesting comments on Mike & Mike this morning... basically making it sounds as though the interest from other teams in Bryant is either tremendously overblown, or the best kept secret around the league. He noted that Bryant being one slip-up away from indefinite suspension combined with on-going maturity issues is not something NFL GM's covet (unlike Shark Pool fantasy owners I suppose).
He did say they the potential for Bryant to be traded in the off-season has a higher likelihood than by tomorrow's deadline.
