This guy is a good player. Suspect they might move him at some point to go with the other 2 as a unit. It's not a slight on him but he is not paid as much as cooper and he isn't as young as lamb.

Technically he might be the best of the 3.

He seems to get the best coverage.  He’s a deep guy and dak hasn’t had much time but the line is healing.  Gallup will be 1000-7 in the end

In a game where Russell Wilson threw for five touchdowns, Dak Prescott was forced into a career-high 57 pass attempts. Nine of them went Gallup's way. The outside receiver turned a deep ball into a long touchdown while adding five other grabs to round out his day. With Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Ezekiel Elliott competing for targets, Gallup's production could be volatile in 2020 but that shouldn't scare us because there will be monster games like this sprinkled in. Gallup is a top-30 receiver at home against the Browns in Week 4.

Michael Gallup caught 2-of-5 targets for 29 yards in Dallas' Week 4 loss to Cleveland.

Gallup is consistently being asked to haul in volatile downfield targets, which has made him a weekly boom-or-bust option. In fact, 17 of his 29 yards Sunday occurred on a jump ball in tight coverage opposite Terrance Mitchell. Although Gallup has recorded fewer than 60 receiving yards in 3-of-4 games this year, his salivating upside will continue to be worth chasing in Week 5 against the Giants.

It was another sleepy game for Gallup before the final drive when he made two incredible downfield catches to put the Cowboys in range for the game-winning field goal. Gallup lit up the Seahawks in Week 3 but has otherwise been pretty quiet behind Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. Gallup is seeing lower-percentage targets and now gets a quarterback downgrade going from Dak Prescott (broken ankle) to Andy Dalton. He'll be a WR4 next week against Arizona.

I’m just waiting in hopes they go after Fitz. It seems to make so much sense but from what I’ve read they Cowboys aren’t interested.

I think he’s a good player and we’ve seen WRs command decent value mid-season. Sanu immediately comes to mind. I’d be surprised if they couldn’t get a 4th for him, at least.

And nobody should cut him in dynasty leagues.

Ravens got NOTHING at WR. They are not going to the Super Bowl with Jackson running 15 times/game and the occasional downfield (10-15 yd) shot(?) to the TE.

If not Gallup, maybe Cooper.

Let's be honest, drafting CeeDee Lamb made no sense. It was like the ghost of Al Davis making the war room calls for Dallas.

There isn’t a rebuild. Lol, you guys are worse than the media. HYPERBOLE!!!!!!! The Cowboys have been decimated by injuries with the most significant being Dak. 

Next year they’ll get a last place schedule and win 11+ games. The NFL is a complete joke of a product now.

I have in dynasty so won't drop because he has proven he can play.  But for redraft his value is zero. My hope is that they sign Fitz or they trade him. More and more I realize that fantasy is more about situation and less about talent. The exceptional super stars have both, but average players in great situations can be very good fantasy assets and great players in bad situations can be good. But a good but not great player like Gallup in a bad situation is just not going to do much. Look at how Robby Anderson is totally different now that he is in Carolina compared to Jets.

The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken reports the Cowboys are not willing to trade Michael Gallup before Tuesday's trade deadline.

Gallup is on pace to take a step backward across the board in 2020, but a lot of that can be contributed to the team's underwhelming play under center and the coaching staff's persistence in keeping the 24-year-old glued to the boundary for deep (and hard to catch) opportunities. As horrible as the organization has been at making long-term decisions, it's Cooper and his fully guaranteed $20 million salary in 2021 that would likely (and ideally) be shipped before Gallup. That's still a possibility if any suitors are willing to send back a conditional draft pick and convert most of Cooper's salary into a signing bonus to pay across the next four years. It's still undetermined if the Cowboys will be buyers or sellers on November 3.

Michael Gallup caught 7-of-12 targets for 61 yards in Week 8 against the Eagles.

Gallup led the Cowboys in receiving with Ben DiNucci starting. It didn’t translate into much production, but the 12 targets were easily a season high. Gallup is expected to remain in Dallas ahead of next week's trade deadline. He gets a matchup with the Steelers in Week 8.

Michael Gallup caught 7-of-11 targets for 86 yards and one touchdown in the Cowboys' Week 13 loss to the Ravens.

Gallup had the easiest cornerback matchup of the Dallas receivers, and he made the most of it. Gallup led the team in targets (11) and found the end zone for the first time since Dak Prescott's season-ending injury in Week 5. It's been a throw-away season for Gallup, mostly for no fault of his own. Gallup continues to show that he's a high-caliber NFL receiver when given chances. His box scores have simply just been hurt by poor quarterback and offensive line play. Gallup has some flex appeal in Week 14 against the Bengals following his best game in months. None of the Dallas receivers offer much of a floor right now, however.

Gallup saved his otherwise quiet day with a score in the first quarter. The Dallas receiving distribution has been incredibly volatile all season and now Gallup is dealing with a hip injury. The injury was simply described as a strain after the game so it doesn't appear to be overly serious. However, if it puts him at any disadvantage when trying to draw targets, he'll be an incredibly risky play in Week 15.

Michael Gallup suffered a hip pointer in the Cowboys' Week 15 win against the 49ers.

Gallup accrued five targets and a touchdown from Andy Dalton before exiting in the second half of Sunday's win. Noah Brown was Gallup's direct replacement off the bench but could only corral one of his six targets for 13 yards. Gallup's participation in practice throughout the week should be telling for his availability for Dallas' Week 16 divisional showdown against Philly.

Andy Dalton has targeted the Cowboys' top-three receivers almost evenly this season. 

Amari Cooper has the slight target edge with Dalton under center, drawing 56 targets. Michael Gallup, meanwhile, has 53 targets, and CeeDee Lamb has 54. Dalton's adjusted yards per attempt when targeting Cooper and Gallup has been almost identical. Dalton has provided a major fantasy boost for Gallup, who was the odd man out when Dak Prescott was lighting the league aflame in the season's first six weeks. Gallup leads the team in targets over the past four weeks. He should be considered a high-end WR3 with upside in Week 17 against the Giants.

Michael Gallup caught 4-of-8 targets for 49 yards in the Cowboys' Week 17 loss to the Giants.

Acting as the Cowboys' top downfield threat and air yards leader, Gallup was a shot-play specialist on low-percentage throws from mediocre quarterbacks much of the season. After going 66-1,107-6 in 2019, Gallup saw just eight fewer targets but dipped to 59-843-5 with most of his production coming across three games. Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb are the future in Dallas at wideout, and Gallup has one year left on his rookie deal. He could be a trade candidate in the offseason. If he's back and Dak Prescott returns under center, Gallup will be a boom-bust WR4 for fantasy drafts

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup has lined up across the team's formation during offseason practices. 

That reportedly includes the slot, where Gallup in 2020 was targeted just three times. He was used exclusively as a downfield boundary receiver, a role that led to volatile production and extended lulls in his production. Putting Gallup in position to catch more intermediate passes would make him a much safer weekly option in 12-team fantasy leagues this season. CeeDee Lamb has also lined up across the Dallas formation in practices after a rookie season in which he operated as the team's primary slot receiver. A little mixing and matching could be beneficial for both Gallup and Lamb. Gallup saw plenty of playing time in 2020, as JuJu Smith-Schuster was the only receiver in the NFL to run more pass routes. Locked in as a mainstay in the Cowboys' three-receiver sets, Gallup makes for an intriguing later-round pick in best ball formats.

Michael Gallup is a late-round gem you shouldn’t pass on in drafts

Michael Gallup is often viewed as an afterthought when evaluating the Cowboys’ receivers. He was inconsistent on a week-to-week basis in 2020. Nonetheless, Gallup recorded three WR1 outings last season, averaging 26 PPR fantasy points per game. He saw increased target volume after the Cowboys’ Week 10 bye week with Dalton under center.

Gallup finished the year with the most receiving air yards (1,243) among Dallas receivers. His RACR was only 0.68, though the return of quarterback Dallas Prescott will help increase that number in 2021.

There is a good chance that Gallup will finish with the third-most targets in 2021, behind Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. Still, it is worth noting that all three of the Cowboys’ receivers could exceed 100+ targets. Dallas should pick up offensively in 2021 where they left off with Prescott last season.

Michael Gallup caught 4-of-7 targets for 36 yards in the Cowboys' Week 1 loss to the Bucs before departing with a left ankle injury. 

One of Gallup's missed connections was caught just out of bounds in the end zone. He was playing as many snaps as Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb before injuring his ankle midway through the second half. Gallup could walk under his own power, but he never seemed close to re-entering the game. If there is good news, there was no cart involved and Gallup has 10 days to rest up for Week 2 against the Chargers. There is still a chance he is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, however. Friday imaging will reveal the extent of the damage. If Gallup has to miss any time, Cedrick Wilson will offer some WR4 juice behind Cooper and Lamb.

I loved his usage as a chain mover in that game. 

Kicking myself though, as prior to the game starting I dealt Hardman for a 2nd TE (Everett) because I had so much depth in Hardman, Gallup & Mooney. 

So much for that for the next 3-5. Hopefully Mooney stays healthy for week 6.

Cowboys placed WR Michael Gallup (calf) on injured reserve.

This means he will miss a minimum of three games but that was always the expectation after he suffered a calf strain during the Cowboys' Thursday opener against Tampa Bay. Initial reports indicated that he could miss as many as five weeks. Cedrick Wilson stepped in for Gallup and caught all three of his targets for 24 yards in Week 1. Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb will hog the targets with Gallup sidelined but Wilson is an interesting stash for deep leagues or dynasty rosters.
