Carson Palmer

Derrick Mason

Attention Palmer dynasty owners - I am the kiss of death in preseason survivor league quarterback selections, and have been for several years. You have been warned.

Was trying to wait it out to no avail, going to bed. Shipped picks to OM and Jeff P. PM one of them when I'm up.

I am getting ready to go to work (where I have limited access) so, with just one more pick to go before me just give me:

a) Donnie Avery, WR Rams

b) Justin Gage, WR Ten

06.08 - RB Knowshon Moreno, Rookie

PMing Reaper.

I'll be out of the pocket until tomorrow afternoon, so I'll PM a list to Reaper as well.

Just got back in town after a long weekend in Williamsburg, VA.

OK - So I'm up.

I think I'll take a TE because I don't think he comes back to me.

6.10 Dustin Keller, TE, New York Jets

I've screwed myself at WR this draft. I'm usually not a fan of rookie WRs but let's try to catch a little lightning in a bottle.

6.12 WR Michael Crabtree, rookie ?

6.15 DERRICK WARD, RB, ??????????????????

He'll leave NY for the chance to start someplace else, and I think he'll be productive. Think "next year's poor man's Michael Turner."

7.05 WR Mark ClaytonHopefully, he starts living up to potential next year.
haven't we been saying that for the last 3 years?
Yes, and that's why he's never on my redraft teams (he's always drafted too high based on that potential) but now they might have a QB that can get him the ball. Hoping that Flacco continues to improve and starts looking at someone other than Mason. If he can approach his 2006 stats, I'd be happy. Who is left at WR now? Potential is all I have left going for me at WR. I was actually mad Branch, Curtis and Gage were gone. That's how bad things are. This is easily the most horrendous group of WRs I've ever had in these leagues. ;) Got to try and pull some rabbits out of the hat the rest of the draft.

All right.... I'll go with a player I think can come back and outperform a WR40+ selection:

7.07 Nate Burleson, WR, Seattle Seahawks

Will someone be around to take a PM for tomorrow. They are forecasting an ice storm for this area in the morning, and I just want to play it safe in case I lose power at the house.

7.06 Plaxico Burress WR
Dammit. That was my pick. :moneybag:
I had Burress typed in but changed it, as I just don't have the luxury to gamble on him. I held slim, slim hopes that he'd fall further.

BTW...F you on Burleson. Doesn't seem like any WRs are falling to me. Very frustrating.
:moneybag: on Burleson. He's no :blackdot: either. I think he's going to be a guy I target often next year as I think he'll be very underrated.

Burleson...lol. I know. Times are tough here in this draft. I know he's far from a certainty (I think Branch is the only guaranteed WR roster right now) but Burleson was on my list that I thought I could get later. There's a lot of guys I'm apparently underrating, as many have gone before I thought they would. Good thing this is 20 rounds...I'm going to have to stockpile 8-9 WRs to have a remote chance at 3 decent scores. :wall:

Have I missed something on Burress? I thought he was a  for prison?

So was OJ....the first time. And this is a lesser crime.Seriously, he has a decent chance to get away with a suspension and a fine and maybe some commuted sentence for being stupid. 3.5 years in NYC probably was a gross overreaction. If he can get out of that (with his lawyers) then the Giants absolutely want him back as their #1.

You might be right, but I have a funny feeling he's doing time. Let's not forget that the commish would almost certainly add a significant suspension even if he were to work around the jail thing. Meaning, IF HE PLAYS, he's still likely to miss 4 or more games. All in all...not a gamble I'd take this early, if at all.
