Arizona v Seattle

Carolina v Jacksonville

Cincinnati v San Fran

Cleveland v Miami

Washington v Dallas

Tennessee v Denver

Washington and Tennessee are intriguing, but the best bet is Arizona.

Thoughts?

Yea Arizona is the clear choice here. And I agree that I'd prefer Cinci over Wash or Ten. Dallas still has enough healthy players to score, and while Denver sucks as a team their offense isn't horrible.

I don't know how available San Diego is, but they are my pick for this week against the Chiefs. I have in a waiver claim for them, with Arizona as a backup.

Zona is clear no. 1 for me.

Then Cincy coming off two good games at home vs SF.

Btw not an issue here since there's no way they're available anywhere but that PIT/Indy game will be ug-lee.

SF offense sucks, but I'm wondering whether they're necessarily a good "play against" for DST. I mean, no matter how bad their o-line sucks, seems to me Harbaugh is fine w/ pounding Gore 20-25 times/game. Depending on your scoring rules, starting a DST against them may not net you much in fantasy production.

Boys vs skins smells like a trap. Skins always play them hard. Could be a tight game and WAS might get an upset with all the injuries to the boys

I am thinking that The Redskins will be good if Romo is out, Austin is out, Felix is hurt. Also considering TEN - I already have the redskins but was going to drop them for a WR off of the wire....but with the injuries to DAL I am keeping them for this week.

AZ @ Seattle is the obvious choice, however, the Seahawks play a lot better @ Quest. It might be a moot point this year as they look horrible in every facet.

Tenn would be my second choice, keeping teams in the teens, Denver dealing with a lot of injuries and McGahee looked slow.

ETA: If I miss out on Arizona AND Gabbert gets the start, probably rolling Carolina.

if vick is out, what about the Giants vs. a rookie QB. their front line looked fast against STL so i suspect they will play to stop the run

Cards and Titans seem like the best bets. Cards scare me though because in their last game against the Seahawks, they got negative fantasy points and the Seahawks scored 36. I think Titans are probably safer since they shut down Flacco and Rice last week and don't give up too many points. However, I think Cards have higher upside.

Is HOU a better long term prospect than NYG going forward? NYG is ranked top 10, but I'm hesitant due to their injuries.

The Seahawks do play better at home typically but I think all bets are off this season with Jackson at QB. Current odds in Vegas have the Chargers (14.5 points), Steelers (10.5 points) and Patriots (9) as the biggest favorites of the week. It's likely all of those defenses are rostered in most leagues. After that, here's the next-highest favorites as of today:Tennessee (7 points over Denver)Philadelphia (5.5 points over Giants)Dallas (5.5 points over Washington)Green Bay, Detroit, Carolina and Baltimore (all 3.5 point favorites)Arizona and the Jets (3 point favorites) Vegas likes the Titans a lot obviously.

good idea to watch the line as a metric. how much does it move as injury reports come out (i.e. vick, austin, etc.)

Cardinals defense is horrible. Jackson will have a very good game. I expect them to lose too :(

Hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't take the AZ D.

Had Bills last week. Not a succes dare I say.

This week, I'm going

Chargers

Titans

Cards (should maybe be before Titans, but Cards looked horrible week 1)

in that order. And yes Chargers are on the waiver, and I'm guessing I will actually get them. The five people in front of me drafted Eagles, Cowboys, Steelers, Bears and Packers so they'll probably not be on waiver for a new DST. A coincidence that the best DST's are on fantasy teams that are 0-2? I think not since those owners drafted their DST way too early

Am I the only idiot who't thinking about rolling with Cincy?
:hey: They're on my list too. My league rosters two defenses per team so there are only eight available to be picked up each week. The Titans, Cardinals and Bengals look like the best options on my WW so I'm considering them. At home against a terrible 49ers team looks like a good matchup to me.

I'm sitting Houston this week and will likely go with Arizona or Cincinnati.
Yea, I don't think you can play Hou in NOS. I like to run one Def, but don't want to drop Hou either as their schedule is nice. Might have to hold two this week to get by NOS. Maybe AZ if I can land them. I don't like any D on the road, but the bad Os are the next best thing. CAR should be good this week maybe.

I was one spot too late in the waiver wire to grab the Chargers, so I ended up with the Cardinals. Now I'm thinking that Tennessee is the better play however. They managed to hold Jacksonville, and more impressively Baltimore to low scores with solid fantasy points.

I watched Arizona in week one against my Panthers, and their defense was horrendous. Then again, Cam Newton also put up 400+ yards against the Packers, so who knows (albeit with 3 picks).

Gabbert is officially starting (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6999493/jacksonville-jaguars-start-blaine-gabbert-quarterback), and if there was a week for the Panthers to get their first win with Cam (with many more to come) and being able to sell out to stop the run, you have to like their D/ST at home in 70 degree perfect weather. Blowout time and a 'W' to go with the gaudy passing stats. I'm glad to have Cam as my QB in one league (was backing up Ryan, but gets the start this week) and wish I had grabbed him everywhere.

Here is my guess at best WW D's for week 3:

Carolina v Jacksonville

Arizona v Seattle

Cincinnati v San Fran

Tennessee v Denver

Cleveland v Miami

I believe the top 3 are Tier 1 while the last 2 are the Tier 2. Any of the top 3 will work for me.

I don't know if I would trust Carolina this week. Yes, the Jags will probably struggle, but Carolina makes a TON of mistakes on defense. Beason and Thomas Davis are both done for the year, and I fully expect MJD to rip the Panthers apart. Now, the advantage is that Jacksonville may try to make it a low scoring game, and I do think that this will be Carolina's game where they try to get the running game back on track.

I've watched the Panthers enough this preseason and regular season to not even consider taking a chance on them as my D...even in a game where it makes sense.

Is HOU a better long term prospect than NYG going forward? NYG is ranked top 10, but I'm hesitant due to their injuries.
ABSOLUTELY YES!The Giants can be kept around for a couple useful weeks ahead but long term I would want nothing to do with them. Starting in week 9 they go:NE > SF> PHILLY > NO > GB > DALLAS > WSH > JETSNo thank you.

We can only carry 2 DEF's on our roser. I have Eagles and Arizona. Even though the Giants are hurting and not playing well not sure about the Eagles defense this week. I may end up playing them anyway, but I dropped Arizona and picked up the Tennessee Titans. Think they got a juicy matchup against the Broncos this week.

Rolled with Atlanta for the two week play, @TB & @SEA. Might pick up the Bengals instead though. Streaming D's while grabbing dropping value always sounds so good during the draft but then the week to week reality sets in.

Sounds like the Broncos will get Lloyd back this week. I wonder if we'll see a shift in the line for this game. The Broncos aren't all that good but I'm not sure Tennessee should be getting seven points against them.

I grabbed TEN and I have The Redskins. Panthers are still on the wire....I am afraid to trust them I do think Cincy with SF at home might be good too. I can't decide....if romo is out then I think redskins are a great play....but that wont be known until Monday night.

Cincy's next 4 games: SF, Buf, @Jax, @Indy3/4 tasty match ups.

Titans down slightly to 6.5-point favorites.

Cardinals up slightly to 3.5-point favorites.

Panthers getting 3.5 points against the Jags.

Bengals still 2.5-point favorites against the Niners.

Cowboys were on my wire. 10 sacks in two games. Facing Rex Grossman. Good chance for sacks and turnovers.

My second choice was Cardinals. Seahawks have given up 10 sacks and without Gallery. Tarvaris scrambles, so some cheap sacks. But don't expect a lot of turnovers. SEA playing very conservatively. And the 12th Man may cause this to go unlike most predict (e.g., Seahawks win).

no love for carolina? the jags looks like a mess and they'll probably be starting gabbert.
But JAX knows how to feed Jones-Drew the ball. CAR can't stop the run. Expect JAX to run the ball right down CAR's throat, with MJD getting 25 or so carries. Good strategy for JAX to keep Newton off the field. So I don't see many chances for CAR to score points from sacks and interceptions. As well, Newton will still make rookie mistakes which will cost CAR some points.
