WW TEs (1 Viewer)

Wanted to make a separate thread for all the WW TEs that may have emerged this week. Especially for those that may wanna bail on the Cook/Kendricks bandwagons. Dont wanna make this a Asst Coach thread. Who do you think is for real? Whos not?

All these TEs are probably available in most leagues and had good games:

Dickson

Davis

Chandler

Moore

Watson

Gresham

What say you?

Me personally, I like TEs that get used split out as WRs, look like athletic freaks, and get used in the red zone. IMO Davis & Moore stand out the most. I like Gresham & Dickson as "safer" pickups but I dont think the TD chances will be there. I have no clue who Chandler is. Would like to hear more about him. Im assuming hes a fluke but would like to know more. And not crazy about Watson who disappears too much for my liking.

I'm a big believer in Gresham. He's probably not a FA. But I drafted him late as my TE3 on 1-2 start TE league. I laughed out loud when Kendricks went a couple of rounds ahead of him. I probably have to wait a week or so, but I plan to sell Gresham high when the time comes.

I'll probably be looking at Davis first, then maybe Dickson. Davis at least has done it before when he was filling in for Cooley, and Cooley has put up good numbers in that system before. I worry a bit about the state of the offense, but at this point they seem much improved over last year. It seems that Cooley's pretty limited, and hopefully this means Davis has jumped in front of him for the season, and not just 1 week (any homers have insight on this situation?). After that, I think Dickson probably is in the best offense, although I worry a bit about too many mouths to feed. Gresham's probably 3rd (although he might leap frog Dickson), and he's basically the Kendricks of last year, but was kind of disappointing last year. His offense worries me a bit, but he'll probably see a fair share of targets every week. Those 3 are probably the only 3 I'm willing to drop Kendricks for. Moore and Watson kind of scare me since there's two of them, and I'm not quite sure who's the favored one (unlike Dickson, who I'm pretty confident is ahead of Pitta). Chandler I also know nothing about, so he's a wait and see. I'm also not against holding on to Kendricks as he had a fair amount of targets, and was most likely suffering from rookie nerves. He should do better as the season goes on, especially against weaker defenses than the Eagles.

Here's how I see them:

1) Jermaine Gresham - Pros: talent (1st Round pedigree), opportunity (no one to split snaps with), also has a rookie QB that will use him as a safety valve; Cons: Bengals inconsistent offense

2) Ed Dickson - Pros: opportunity (bonafide starter), plays in an explosive offense, has a reasonable pedigree as a 3rd rounder in 2010; Cons: Are there enough balls to go around in the Baltimore offense with Rice, Boldin, Evans, et. al? May lead to some inconsistent performances.

3) Fred Davis - Pros: looked great vs. NYG, has had some past success when Cooley went down; Cons: Has Cooley waiting in the wings to vulture snaps/targets. Murky situation that may be best to avoid.

4) Scott Chandler - Pros: appeared to be a favorite target of Fitzpatrick, in an offense that may rely more on the pass than in the past, QB with relatively weak arm that may not take a ton of shots down the field; Cons: splits time with Buffalo's blocking TE, Martin. Journeyman who has not stood out in the past few years. Very likely flash in the pan/career week.

The others, while available in most leagues, I don't see as truly worht rostering.

Will be picking up Davis in a few leagues. They will use some 2 TE sets and Grossman looked good this weekend. I think Davis is ahead of Cooley now and could solidify the #1 at least for this season. I wouldn't be confident in rolling with just Davis as my TE, but as a backup with upside I'll take him.

I was really impressed with Ed Dickson. Ray Rice called out Dickson in an interview I heard a few weeks before the season, suggesting he would be the surprise offensive star of the Ravens. While I thought that was just lip service, I did find it fascinating that he would mention Dickson and not Pitta (who most viewed as 2 peas in a pod who would split Todd Heap's former duties). In watching the game, Dickson looked terrific. He got in and out of his breaks quickly, was physical at the point of contact and seemed to go out and attack the ball in the air.

Id rank them

1) fred davis= go back and look and his 2009 game log, guy has big game potential ( ie 100 yards) plus they are saying he's in great shape and skins are gun slinging

2) gresham= 1st round pick w/ a rookie qb leaning on him

3)ed dickerson= too many mouths to feed for consistent production

4) moore= pedigree but in tebc

put this in another thread but based upon targets it seems Gresham is the guy to have.

Gresham - 8

Fred Davis - 6

Dickson - 5

Chandler - 5

Chasing points based upon TDs and catches in one game is tough. Opportunity is more important IMO.

Let's be honest though, all four of those guys got an attractive number of targets.Only 13 TEs had 80+ targets last year, by comparison.

That really surprises me. I thought that number would have been alot higher.

Gresham was drafted AND started in my league (start 1TE), so I'm surprised to see him on some waiver wires, but others from that list I like Davis. There might be something wrong with Cooley.

I've been holding Fred Davis, Dickson, Pitta and Moore in dynasty.

May start 2 of them going forward(have Keller as my #1 TE)-(lost Finley in RFA when was offered $60 and the 1.11 rookie pick). Have doubts he'll stay healthy.

I drafted Gresham as my backup this year, but I have a feeling that it will be tough to decide between him and Olsen most weeks. This week, I'm going with Olsen if Gradkowski starts, because Gresham was only targeted once in the two quarters that Gradkowski played. With Dalton, he seems to be the guy.

Seriously? You laughed at a guy taking one young flyer TE over another? One you are looking to ship out ASAP anyway?
