dammit, I have like 100 playlists, but never considered creating a Yacht Rock playlist. I know what I'll be doing this weekend.

Southern Cross - Crosby, Stills & Nash
Not Yacht Rock. Yacht Rock has very distinct qualities:Songs referencing nautical or beach/island culture

Smooth lyrics

Smooth instrumentals

One of the most underrated comedy web series ever.
The first one isn't a requirement, just a huge bonus. Basically yacht rock is just smooth sounding music (generally from '75-'84) that you could imagine a yacht owner enjoying while sailing. That's my understanding anyway...

This kind of music makes me so uncomfortable. Sort of reverse nostalgia or something. What's weird is I'm entertained by the reemergence of this genre. Ariel Pink's "Round and Round," for example.
