Yahoo IR Question (2 Viewers)

In a Yahoo league, I have a player in my IR slot that just changed from out to questionable. Does that invalidate my team and my waivers? Do I have to move him back onto my bench in order for my waivers to process? Thank you!

My experience has always been that it won't allow you to even make the claim in the first place if your roster is no longer legal. It sounds like you submitted the add-drop when your IR spot was still legal, and then it went to 'Q' status, with the waiver claim pending for Tues night/ Wed morning?

I wouldn't be surprised if you're actually okay and get the player if you have the winning bid. However, definitely don't take that chance if it's a guy you want. It would be really odd if there's no warning message on your waiver claim if it's going to deny you for ineligible roster.

First time poster, I think. In Y! if you are allowed to make the claim without the error message, it will process. For example, if you have Judkins in IR today and make a claim to swap another bench piece for a FA, it will process even if Judkins changes to Q tonight. Waivers will run and he will still be rostered without affecting the normal waivers process - i.e. provided you have the best position, you will claim the player and Judkins will still be on your team. If/when Judkins changes to Q or other non IR status, you can no longer make claims or adjust FAAB unless you free up a bench roster spot and/or drop Judkins.

I am doing the same now, while Judkins is labeled out. Wil see how it works, but my risk is missing out on a defense and dropping Monangai in a redraft, so this is not exactly a make or break situation :)

This worked for me in football last season and baseball this year, but there's always the chance the loophole is closed. Only one way to find out, good luck!

I dropped my kicker and put Mooney back on my bench. I wasn't going to risk it. Thanks for the help!

I've commished Yahoo leagues for a long time. The rule I tell everyone is, if you have a player with an Out designation for that week (but they're not on IR or Pup, so you know they're going to flip to Q any day now), go ahead and make your waiver claims before the O to Q flip happens. The site will still process your claims. But once they flip to Q, you cannot enter a new waiver claim until you take them out of the IR slot. Then you can address the situation later in the week.
