Yanks and DEVIL Rays... (1 Viewer)

People are in shape and ready to battle.
They weren't in shape before?
Thats been the main story of spring training.
Isn't this always the story when a new coach/manager comes in?
 Yanks havent had a new manager since 1996.
I was speaking in general terms. The new guy is always getting players in shape, creating either a more intense (in this case) or more relaxed atmosphere, motivating the veterans and pushing the rookies...Just seems like this is always the case, and I wonder how much of it is true and how much of it is media driven. :own3d:

I saw Bobby Abreu bend down to pick up a bat, Jason Giambi not sweat when he was eating and Johnny Damon run faster than one of those scooters all the Grey Panthers have down there. I'd say it's true.

So I guess a 200+ million payroll doesn't get you players dedicated to being the best they can be... :excited:
Not yet... Once we get Robotic players that should be taken care of.. :banned: Have we stumbled upon a new phenomenon is sports? You think Athletes getting paid large sums of money and playing the fat cat role is ONLY a Yankee problem at times :loco:

:goodposting: You have to love the toolish Sox fan though....a little joking around, carrying on and their bitterness still shows through.

So it looks like Shelley and Melky won't be suspended for opening day. I think Duncan will rival Jeter for cheers for the opening day roll call!

Compared to Showalter Torre came in and "relaxed things and treated veteran with respect"...so not always.
