Your Most Ballsy Start This Week (1 Viewer)

Bad_Mo

Footballguy
For many, this week will end in glory (champion) or failure (runner up).

What is your most ballsy start this week?

Fortunately, mine is only my defense (CHI at home versus NYJ). I'm praying for -30 degrees with snow!

Due to injuries (Gates, Owens, Collie, Giant Steve Smith) I will be forced to start three of the following:

Reggie Bush

Beanie Wells

Ben Obomanu

Blair White

Ryan Mathews

It's a complete fluke that I made it to the championship game with my injury-riddled roster.

Im terrified that Hillis faces Baltimore this week and thinking of starting Blount vs Stl but than I rem a old saying stick whith what got you there.... Look at Vick vs the Giants this week studs always find a way to shine through...

Not feeling comfortable rolling out JStew against Pitt, but the only other option is the blair white project.... :goodposting:

If I can get Tebow, I'm strongly considering starting him over Kitna and Eli. This is after I started Collins over them last week and almost got knocked out so it would be pretty ballsy for me.

Why would you ever start Tebow over Eli? Why's everyone so down on Eli? Is it the INT's?

1) Because in the last five games he has had an 8pt game, 3 pt game, and a 6 pt game. He isn't consistent enough to say he's an every week must start. 2) GB is a really good pass D and limited Brady to 163 yds. In the past 4 games no one has topped 200 yards, and fantasy points for the last 8 QBs is 4, 4, 3, 4, 11, 8, 6, and 15.3) Giants have a good running game and have a willingness to run which further limits Eli's upside4) As good as the Patriots D was, the Giants D is much much better and should stop Flynn from making it a shootout.5) My opponent in the championship game has scored more points than me every week but 1 in the last 8 weeks and has a very strong team.6) He did great last week but GB isn't hurting as much as philly D was last week and it was a much different game type where throwing 4 TDs was a mustHe's inconsistent and has very limited upside this week unless Flynn can manage to surpass expectations a second week in a row. It could happen and Eli could have another 4 TD game but I feel like Tebow's upside is greater even if the risk might be higher as well.

Great points. I don't own Eli, but as a Tebow starter, I'm doing it for the rushing stats, and the potential for big passing stats (horrid pass D).

Funny, I have Kitna and Eli too, also had Orton and a month ago I was hoping to start him vs Hou and winning my Championship... well we know that is not happening. But to move Tebow ahead of Kitna and Eli would be ballsy. I am not sure I can make that move. Will have to wait to see if I get Tebow first of all in waivers, then we'll see. Since week 8, which is when Kitna started his first game, ONLY Vick and Brady have scored more fantasy pts in my league.

You know what's sad, if ADP plays he may be a ballzzy start. Seriously.

Same goes for Moreno.

Otherwise - Looking at:

Gerhart

Choice

Donald Brown

And the like.

It may be Choice, and I'm not sure that's all that ballzzy.

Stewart @ PIT would be very bold; can't quite find the boldness to go with that one.

Those are solid numbers to back up your choice to bench him. You're probably right and the numbers tell a story. However Eli lead a players meeting after Sundays loss....first time ever for him....and received cheers for it. I think he may back it up this week. Barring nasty weather, I think GB/NYG could be a pretty high scoring game. Especially if Rodgers is cleared to play.

I may end up putting in Witten instead of Adrian Peterson as my Flex...

Sounds fine, but now that I look at it...may have

Witten

Buehler

Dallas DST

and possibly Tashard Choice

WOW, w/half my line-up Cowboys & they lay and egg in Arizona... :moneybag:

Likely starting SMoss vs. Jags over Peterson (started Welker over him last week).

Not on par with that, but I'm also likely going with Jets DST vs. Bears instead of Cowboys DST @ Cardinals....

Looks like I'll be screwed. I have Moreno, Gates, and Collie. If none of them play, I only have Boss at TE, and will have to choose 2 of Meachem, Ward (if Foster can't go), James Jones, or JOE WEBB (I CAN PLAY HIM AS A WIDE RECEIVER ;) :lmao: ) at flex.

Starting Blair white at 3rd wr (over ford, amendola, gibson, royal, gaffney) ....still dont know why he isnt a waiver wire gem.

Thinking about startig sexy Rexy over eli.

Small Ball:

Cassel vs TEN instead of Kitna@AZ

Medium Ball:

Brandon Lloyd vs HOU instead of Santana Moss@JAX

BALLSY:

Tashard Choice@AZ instead of Santana Moss@JAX, JStew@PIT, Hines Ward vs CAR, Sims-Walker vs WAS

RB/WR: .25pt/ppr, 1pt/20 yds rush/rec, 6pt/TD

Those being ballsy, who are you picking out of Tebow and Grossman? I'm thinking Grossman because his floor is actually lower, hard to believe...

J. Harrison - He could pick up 100 yds in the second half in a blow out win
Yeah, because backups get so much PT in the NFL. The Eagles will have to be up at least 28 with 5 minutes left before I'd expect Harrison to be out there regularly. Did he touch the ball Sunday? I don't remember one. But I'm old. While I don't expect the Eagles to lose to the Vikings, I expect a tougher game than most. It's a trap game - coming off two division wins including Sunday' epic comeback vs. NYG. And Dallas at home a week later.

Fitzpatrick > BigBen

I think Ben will score more than the average QB against Carolina, but Fitz could be chucking it the whole 2nd half

Slightly considering B. White over Hillis but that would be just silly, not ballsy.

No team gives up more yards passing and touchdowns through the air than Houston. Its not really even close. Thus making Tebow a safe play. He should be good for 200 yards and a couple of TDs. With a good chance to get 1 rushing as well.

I'm with you. I lost Collie and Gates as well. For the record, Collie when healthy is more potent than Roddy White. Collie is my true WR1 in my eyes. What a stud (and loss) he is.I'm forced to pick between Marshall, Stevey Johnson, and Branch at WR2 and roll with Owen Daniels at TE.

Either Mo Morris or a waiver wire pick up (Ward, Broncos backup) over Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert.

Super Flex league (start 1 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR, 1 Super Flex (QB, RB, WR or 2nd Def)

QB

Vick

Super Flex

Choose from, Garrard, Rex, Tebow, Cutler

Conservative choice is Garrard as he has the highest floor, at home, winnable game, team will be playing to win. Safe bet for ~ 15 pts.

Tebow has a tasty matchup, but can he reliably exploit it?? He could have a 25 pt outing and his likelihoold of running in a short TD enhances his value, need to check weather in Denver as I'd stay away from him in bad conditions. A little concerned that a week of "film" now exists on Tebow such that he could be better defended (yes, even by the Texans).

Cutler - If I don't take a flier on Rex or Tebow, I'll with Garrard over Cutler. Wind could be an issue and Cutler still has the inconsistent streak in him.

Rex - I think he has as much upside as Tebow. Warm weather site. Coaching staff will be looking for another big offensive output like last week's 30 pts/4 TD's vs Cowboys in order to justify the McNabb decision. Risk of Rex laying an egg.

Right now leaning towards Tebow, but may go the safe route.

RB

Jones-Drew

Foster (could go with Choice but tough to make that call on Saturday). I think Foster will go (unless subsequent report that makes him look iffier) as he has the rushing title in his sights, getting more stats will help him get paid (he's making near minimum) and a coach who's fighting for his job.

WR

Rolling with S. Moss over BMW.

I may pick up Choice & start him over Torrain & Forte.

Thought about starting Tebow or Grossman over Flacco & Collins, but then called myself insane. Now I read a bunch of you starting Tebow. Hmm, but over Flacco? I don't know if I can do it...

Lynch over AP and Hillis - I just feel like Lynch has the highest ceiling this week, and I'm gonna need it. All I'm hoping for is 15 carries vs sorry TB and I can live with my decision regardless of what the output is.

Anthony Armstrong over Mike Wallace - I am not certain of this yet but I might have to go with my gut. I don't like Wallace's matchup this week.

Ballsy decisions I have are as follows:

QB: Freeman over Ryan

RB: Torain over Hillis

DEF/ST: DAL over CHI

Its good to have options, but it certainly doesn't make it easy.

Changed my mind on this. No Chris Gamble tonight.

Blount plays Seattle. St Louis has San Fran. My balls start is probably the St Louis defense.

Torain over Hillis... Mr Right Now over Mr Right.

Detroit D... Deep league and I had to get rid of the Vikes after last weeks fiasco
