The Colorado edibles are amazing and closing in on becoming my preferred method of ingestion.

However, if you "overdose" yourself on edibles, it can be quite a while before things return to normal. But, maybe that's just what you were looking for.
They really are doing some amazing things with edibles in Colorado. There are some gourmet chocolatiers who are getting in the edible business and making THC-infused chocolate bars with high quality chocolate that are absolutely delicious. The sour gummy bear edibles taste even better than regular Sour Patch Kids.I am currently in the process of designing a recipe for a THC-infused homebrewed beer, which is now legal in Colorado. I'm thinking of trying to do a dank, hoppy imperial red IPA that is infused with THC and dry-hopped with hops and their cousin ganja. I think a nice dose of dank, resinous hops combined with sweet caramel malts will really blend nicely with the taste of the marijuana infusion. It should be a fun experiment.
Awesome! If you need a taste testing guy, send a PM my way.I want to grab a pot soda but they've been out the past three visits. Hopefully this afternoon is different. I'm getting a little sick of the "one edible per person" rule while the demand is so high. Just let me plop down $100 on edibles like when I need to refresh my bourbon collection.
I will definitely let you know when my experiment is complete. I'd love to get some feedback.

The pot sodas are quite strong and can definitely couch lock you for hours. I like them as a cure for brutal hangovers. I recommend getting a THC-infused root beer soda and then making a root beer float with some vanilla ice cream.
Holy crap, a THC-infused root beer float sounds amazing. Keep being awesome, sir.

Prefer smoking joints 100-1 (as my rolling technique was mastered years ago) but I only roll now when I know I'll be around a bunch of folks who also smoke. Too much weed is in one J for me to smoke alone. Since I usually smoke alone anymore, I generally use one of two glass pipes/bowls that I have. I also have a Dugout (one hitter) that I take to parties occasionally when I'm not sure the type of crowd ahead of time.

I have eaten pot brownies, but it was years ago. I recall that the buzz took a while to hit me, versus the quick effect of inhaling. Once it did though, I had a pretty long day of feeling absolutely groovy. Apparently, I didn't overdo it.

Never drank bong water, but have been tempted.

Just typing this has given me the urge to partake of a few hits......think I'll do just that......

Love the ganja but now I am afraid this is going to be like everything else in life when the mainstream is running and buying it. I can't wait to be lectured by someone who has been smoking for 3 months on the ins and outs of it all.

I have a glass bong nothing fancy but very solid and always cleans well. I own about 10 different glass pipes, many are intricate and I have one with a honeycomb blown into the hammer side facing out, it's my favorite and I bought in California over 10 years ago. Most of my glass was bought in SoCal.
How do you flip out and go MOP on so many people when you smoke this much weed?
I forget to wake n bake some days

I hardly EVER get edibles anymore. Most choco bars or whatever are in the $10 range and they really have zero effect on me. I can get .5g of good crumble for $20. I medicate to make me less a cork soaker/sarcastic ##### all the time. It helps, but I go for bang for buck. I have said before in other threads, I got the microG, the one only for wax/budder. Very discrete and obviously, wax is like 5x stronger at min than most ganj. And I will never pay the 2x the price of a good Oz for the device to use (volcano).

I rarely smoke ganj anymore anyway, although I tried a $4 preroll "premium" J last night. Needless to say, it was like smoking a cigarette, sans the headache.

I do favor the ritual of smoking green vs loading a pen with what looks like play-doh sometimes. But the discretion associated w/the microG just trumps regular J's in every other aspect for me personally.

Edible marijuana sales shattering sales projections in Colorado

DENVER - A one-month supply of marijuana edibles, gone in the first three days of January.

That's what the area's largest supplier of marijuana edibles is saying about the incredible demand for the product since recreational sales were legalized in Colorado on Jan. 1.

"We are working hard," said Joe Hodas, chief marketing officer for Dixie Elixirs and Edibles. "We like to call ourselves the future of cannabis."

There is so much demand for edibles right now, they limit customers to two edible products a day at recreational pot shops like LoDo Wellness at 16th St. and Wazee in downtown Denver.

"Actually demand's been huge," said Hodas. "And our employees have been just killing it working 'round the clock."

Dixie makes marijuana infused chocolates, mints, topical lotions and elixirs.

I've never purchased a mass produced edible weed product, but (back in the day) I made pot brownies and pot tea and have only one thing to say -- it f'n sucks.

Edible weed is as overrated as introducing food products into the bedroom. It sounds fun, but the fun only comes in the novelty, not the performance. My problem with the brownies and the tea is that it required a buttload of weed, and even after all that weed and time it didn't seem like it got me nearly as high as if I just pinched off a bit and smoked it.

Anybody have more positive experiences with edible weed or is it generally overrated?

The last question is because I used to be convinced that the bong water would get you extra high since the marijuana smoke was filtered through it. Since we were just going to be throwing the bong water away anyway... gulp, gulp.
You weren't doing it right.

Anyone use a vaporizer?
Just bought this a few months ago.

It is AWESOME. WAY better than smoking. Its so ... clean and refreshing compared to smoke.
I bought a vape awhile back (the kind that sort of looks like an old transistor radio), and have been pretty disappointed with it. Nowhere near as good an effect. I do like the clean taste of vape, but I need twice as much to get half as high.

I don't smoke a ton (once or twice a week), but not "smoking" would be attractive in a keep-my-lungs-healthy aspect. Have you tried other vapes and found this one better?
Ive read good things about the Pax, but am gunshy about portable vapes. I got an iolite several years ago and it was a POS. It used butane to heat which never really worked too well. Always seemed to be running out and never seemed to heat consistently. After a few weeks, I was right back to smoking. Is this thing worthwhile as an actual alternative to smoking?

I think it is. I used to use a glass bowl and now have gone exclusively to this.

But I admit that I'm just a fairly casual smoker. I just use it like once a week on a Saturday or something. So I'm not sophisticated enough to know all the different strains and nuances.

iphone of vaporizers...the best. not cheap but well worth it. It's rechargeable and carries a 10 year warrantee.

as far as edibles my buddy has gotten some lollipops that he loves...never tried it but takes a bit to kick in but once it does it lasts a while.

That's exactly what I have - a butane iolite. Was like $169 or something, and truthfully, it's garbage (despite lots of positive reviews). Yea, it vapes, but it's a terrible, "teasing" high (and it takes a good bowl's worth just to do that.) So I'm a little gunshy too about spending another $200+, but I definitely would if it actually worked.

Man, I sound like a salesmen here, but you can get the regular Gpen for like $65 I think. You get two micro's for only $80.

you said you used the one made only for wax. why is that? does the one made for plant not work as well? i have nowhere to get wax. can/do you make your own?

I use the wax one only b/c 1. I typically only smoke wax and 2. the wax only gpen is smaller, thus the "micro" name. They have bigger ones that can take both MJ and wax, but that is more expensive/not necessary. You CAN make your own wax, but it is VERY difficult. You have to use butane to extract the THC, and as we know, butane is flammable.

Edibles

Vaporizer

Smoking

If you like the ceremony of smoking, hey, great.

But you'd use a lot less weed using a vaporizer, and the high from edibles is much more intense, as well as not just concentrated in your head, like it is when you smoke.

I own this one, and highly recommend it.
For those that apparently skipped over this post, I'm telling you, this thing can't be beat. Has both a whip and a bag attachment. Can digitally tune desired temperature. Comes with remote. It's top notch.
I love that it comes with a remote.
Everyone enjoys that when I bring it out.

They don't taste like cigars.
Would the wrapper from a cigar not taste like a cigar?
Sure it would provide some cigar flavor but weed tastes nothing like tobacco.
Right. I have smoked weed before, just not a blunt.
Blunts make me light headed. I don't care for them.

I've tried to do edibles. My buddy was actually pretty good at making the butter according to other people who had his stuff. But I just didn't care for the taste of them.

This past summer I decided I was going to get a portable vape. I decided I wasn't going to worry about price, I was just going to try and find the best one I can get. I started researching them, reading message boards, watching reviews on youtube. When I was done researching, I decided I thought the butane ones sounded best. I thought the idea of having butane available at just about any convenience store was a major plus, and that's what I was going to get. I look up a local store online and it looks like they carry the iolite brand.

I go to the store. I tell them what I'm looking for, and the sales associate starts pointing me in the direction of the magic flight launch box. It get's it's power from 1 AA battery. The bundle had 2 batteries and a charger. The clerk told me the batteries were lithium ion, but they actually weren't. Another big selling point was the price was really good. About half what most of the others cost. I asked what else they had. She showed me the pax and the iolite. She triggered the butane on the iolite and it was a bit loud. I'll just say I was surprised how loud it was.

I had to make a choice, so I selected the MFLB. And it was awesome. It works really well. However, I often use mine while I'm in the car. It's very difficult to load and re-load in a car. The battery life was not so great. The batteries were actually nimh batteries. They usually took a while to re-charge. It seemed like the battery life shortened quite a bit after initial use... which I think is common for rechargeable batteries. After a while I felt like I was re-charging nearly every other use. And the batteries had these rubber caps you were supposed to put over them. And the instructions said it was best to brush it out after every use. And the instructions said you should 'shake it up' between draws to mix up the herb. This was a pain. I used the MFLB for awhile. Maybe 2-3 months. I had some good experiences with it, but it is definitely difficult to use. I felt like I was constantly running through a checklist in my head of what I needed to do to keep it maintained. At some point I decided... there has to be something better out there.

I started watching more reviews. I found several good ones, very detailed on youtube. After watching them, I decided the pax ploom was going to be my next target. I remembered it from my first visit. I remembered it was very expensive, but after seeing the reviews I really wanted to try it out. I go back to the same store. Tell them I want the pax. It was a different clerk this time. She said the pax was awesome, so I got it.

I just wanted to say that I completely agree with whoknew. It's the best. I've never tried a butane portable, but from the sounds of things on this board they don't work very well. I do think the vape is healthier, and as far as taste goes, if you keep this thing clean, I think you can taste the taste much better then other methods. The taste is much cleaner because as mentioned earlier, you don't get all the ingredients of combustion. I would definitely recommend the pax. It does have a lithium ion battery, and the battery life is good. All around an excellent experience. I really do think it is the iphone of portables.

Been using my Pax daily for 6 or 7 months now, the best purchase I've made in a while. It also has paid for itself for me, in reduced consumption. It has almost halved my monthly consumption, with no reduction in how often I partake. I have gone full salesman for this device to all the smokers I know. It took some getting used to, but I've found that I now prefer vape to smoke. The taste is different, better in my opinion, more distinct. I highly recommend it.
