Who's here that shouldn't be?

Who's not here that should be?

1 - Chris Johnson home against the Raiders

2 - Ryan Matthews at Kansas City

3 - Maurice Jones Drew at home Denver

4 - Frank Gore at Seattle

5 - Ronnie Brown at Buffalo

6 - Matt Forte home against Detroit

7 - Steve Jackson home against the Cardinals

8 - Rashard Mendenhall home against Atlanta

9 - Adrian Peterson at New Orleans

10 - Ray Rice at NY Jets

11 - Michael Turner at Pittsburgh

12 - Caddy Williams home versus Cleveland

Do you really have a rookie running back second overall or is this just a list of 12 and you put numbers next to them arbitrarily?

Forte out D. Will in

Lions have a very good D-line but are horrible in the defensive backfield= Martz throwing all game

D Will should get most of the RB touches with Stewart not playing at all during the pre-season

The Chargers line has looked very good to me against the Cowboys in week 2 and the Saints in week 3. I think the rook is a great play against the Chiefs.

Gore vs SEA is my pick to be the #1 matchup.

WK 1 in the NFL can often be a wild and wacky one, where some teams look like they are still in preseason play. I bet there is going to be one or two in the Top 10 that are surprising, if not completely counterintuituve.

So instead of some of the obvious names, I thought I'd throw out some other matchups that might be underrated/overlooked, and that may crack Top 10 WK 1 performances:

* Chris Wells and/or Tim Hightower vs STL -- while ARI offense has their work cut out for them this season, so does the STL D.

* Buckhalter vs JAX -- not sure they are going to rush Moreno back by having him carry the bulk, and I can see Buckhalter getting the short red zone work against a fairly weak Denver D -- assuming he's not too dinged to go, either.

* Jahvid Best vs CHI -- Bears made some moves to address comparatively lackluster defensive play last year, but I can see Best wanting to make a statement in the first game where it counts.

I have a signed Ronnie Brown jersey hanging in my office, and I am a die-hard Fins fan.Arian Foster is starting over Ronnie in week one for my squad. Easily could come back to haunt me, but with nobody on the roster healthy enough to challenge him for carries and in a game that could see 50+ points scored, I feel Foster is the better choice in week 1.

I have my homer RB Gore in several leagues and I think he makes a statement right out the gate week 1.In the Arizona/Rams game don't know how the touches will be distributed but I was hoping for Hightower to have the better game since I have him in a dynasty league. However in 2 games last year Wells did damage to the Rams. Week11-14rushes/74 yds/1 td, Week 16- 17 rushes/68 yds/1 td. Hightower in 2 games against the Rams, week11-14 rushes/110 yds/ 0 td, week 16-10 rushes/ 32 yds/ 1 td. Probably could be close to a repeat of last year.I think Buckhalter will score just his yardage will probably be limited.Would really like to see Best tear up the Bears but I just have a sneaky suspicion he'll have the week 1 jitters and press too hard. Again here though I think he at least scores. iIhope I'm wrong about the jitters and he goes off for 100 yds and a score.

The problem with the Lions, they historically suck on the road. Lately they have sucked at home too. I think things are about to change as they are entering the Best-era. I kind of think they Lions do make a statement here and I look for the Bears to have a pretty rough year. Best rushes for 135 and a TD, plus another 60 yards receiving leading the Lions to victory.

Ryan Mathews - I'm OK with him in the top 12, but I don't see him finishing as the #2 RB first week. I'm one that feels KC will be markedly improved this year.Ronnie Brown - Buffalo's DEF isn't that bad and with Ricky Williams in play as well, I wouldn't put the odds too high that Ronnie finishes in the top 12.

Steven Jackson - I wasn't a big fan of him when I drafted but have a good feeling about the Rams this year. Bradford looks like the real deal and I think that really helps Jackson. I'll say he finishes top 7 this year.

Peterson - I think he finishes top 3 RB this week. Thursday night with the whole nation watching I think he puts up something like 125 yds and 2 TDs.

The rest of the list I'm OK with being top 12.

It wouldn't be fair for me to comment without providing my expected top 12 for week 1.

1. Adrian Peterson - Like I wrote earlier, I think Peterson goes nuts this week.

2. Frank Gore - He's a beast and SEA defense won't be able to do too much against him while having to account for Crabtree and Davis.

3. Chris Johnson - OAK will focus on Johnson and while I think he breaks 100 yards, I don't like him more than Gore or Peterson.

4. Maurice Jones-Drew - Assuming full health, should run well against DEN banged up defense.

5. Steven Jackson - See above.

6. Ryan Grant - I don't think he goes off against a tough PHI defense but it will be hard for him not to find running lanes with the offensive weapons at Rodgers disposal.

7. Ryan Mathews - I think will look good but don't expect him to go bonkers over KC.

8. Ray Rice - As a Rice owner (and Rutgers alum) I would love to say he'll finish higher than this week 1 but I don't think he will be able to do explode against a tough Jets DEF. I would look for 80 total yards and a touchdown.

9. Jahvid Best - Has looked great in pre-season and I feel Stafford will do enough to keep Chicago from stacking the box.

10. Matt Forte - Of all the players on this list, I feel he has the biggest boom/bust potential for week 1. Can see him putting up 120 totals yards and a touch as much as I can see him going 12 rushes for 50 yards. Upside is that Martz may use him out of backfield and get him a good number of receptions.

11. Marion Barber - I love Barber and feel he gets the lion's share of carries against Washington.

12. Reggie Bush - Minnesota's secondary is banged up and with Reggie playing essentially as a WR a lot he'll constantly be covered by a LB who will have trouble keeping up with him or a 3rd or 4th string corner back.

12a. Ahmad Bradshaw - I feel like I have to mention Bradshaw. He's looked great but CAR is tough. That said I still think he puts up good numbers. He may end up with more receiving yards than rushing.

Notable exclusions:

D Williams - NYG has a very good defense and I don't think williams will be able to do enough with Stewart there as well.

Foster - I think this becomes a shootout with Indy and while Foster has a good day he won't light up Indy, at least not with Bob Sanders back there.

Benson - I don't think very highly of Cedric and feel his success last year was mostly a product of him getting 25+ carries a game. That won't happen this year.

Why not? Do you think he gets less than 20 touches?
I'm not questioning him appearing in the top 12. I'm saying I don't think 20 touches will automatically make him the #2 overall back this week. I think it would be a major story if Ryan Matthews had the second best day among all running backs in the NFL.

Ronnie Brown had 20 rushes for 115 yards and 2 TDs the last time he played Buffalo, and Ricky was "in play as well".

Ronnie had a great game last year against BUF, no question. I just think that with the improved passing game and in my opinion a stronger Buffalo defense he won't put up a game like that. At least I should say that odds of him putting up a game like that are lower than others.

why doesnt anyone have jamaal charles in here? I feel like he is going to want to prove a point that hes the best rb in KC and one of the best in the league.

Totally disagree.. If there is any week to start Forte, its this week.In 2 games last year, Forte went 12/120/1, 2/19 and 16/101, 3/23....The guys plays awesome against the Lions..Detroits front 4 is stout, but then what?
