Zona players value going forward (1 Viewer)

What is the value of Edge, Fitz, Boldin, now that Tim Rattay appears to be the starter for awhile?

From RotoWorld player news...

Kurt Warner-QB- Cardinals Oct. 15 - 9:54 am et

According to the Arizona Republic, the initial diagnosis of Kurt Warner's elbow injury is a torn ligament.

He's scheduled to undergo an MRI and the injury is to his non-throwing elbow, but the newspaper reports that if he returns it "certainly won't be next week." "It was just painful," Warner said. "I have no strength in there. I couldn't really move it, so there would have been no way to hold the football with my left hand." Backup Tim Rattay was picked off three times in the fourth quarter after coming in for Warner.

Fitz still had an OK game with Rattay in. I don't know anything about Rattay, but I'm guessing there's a reason he was on the street last week. What are the chances he gets better?

I would hope they lean on Edge more, but since it looks like they will be losing late in game again, its hard to not like the yardage value of Fitz and Boldin, Just dont count on the TDs as much.

I believe Edge's value goes up, as long as his wheels don't fall off. Fitz still did well this week, but not so when Boldin comes back. I don't see enough passes to keep them both scoring well.

I was feelin great, albeit a slight bit guilty, to have traded Maroney for Fitz, how quickly things change. Seems more a fair trade now.

assuming it is a torn ligament - since its on his nonthrowing arm - maybe he can return after the bye and only miss one game?

The only hope for Zona is if OAK decides to release a QB. McCown was putting up 300 yard games under Green out there.

Considering Arizona ins't very good and they will be playing from behind most of the season...I don't see Edge's value doing anything but going down. Regardless of who the QB is....they will not run the football from behind.I see Warners injury as a boost to the passing game....but it probably won't help Fitz or Boldin because of the caliber of QB they will be playing with.

Is Jon Navarre no longer there?
I believe Navarre is now on the Colts.
The Colts cut him in training camp. The current Arizona QBs are:RattayWarnerMatt Baker - practice squadLeinart - IRWarner and Leinart were the only Cardinals QBs to play in preseason.

I agree. It does little to the value of Fitz/Boldin. The team will be playing from behind.

Early indication was that Warner was done for the season. There was some talk later that he might be able to come back after the bye. Going to depend on the MRI results. Apparently the plan in the meantime is to sign Tim Hasselbeck as a backup and roll with Rattay.

All I've seen or heard is "some time today".

I like Neil Rackers to boost his PPG circa 2005. Rattay will improve if he has to start past his bye week, but I see tons of drives stalling in the red zone.

If he can limit the turnovers, that defense is good enough to keep the Cardinals in most games. It was 10-9 Cards midway through the 4th quarter when Rattay started the pick parade. Then the defense wore down from being on the field the whole quarter long. All he has to do is remain respectable and Edge can continue to produce. If Rattay limits the turnovers, I think they'll lean on the running game and be just fine. If he plays like he did in the 4th quarter, Edge's value plummets and the WRs are going to become big plays by necessity. It's all a matter of what you think Rattay can do.

for what it's worth, I once heard Terry Bradshaw gushing about him before the 49ers went in the Alex Smith direction. That's likely because Rattay is also from Louisiana.

Cards to sign Tim Hasselbeck

Even before Kurt Warner suffered an elbow injury Sunday, the Cardinals were expected to sign quarterback Tim Hasselbeck as a backup early this week.

Now, depending upon Warner's prognosis, the club could be in the market for another quarterback.

Tim Rattay is expected to get his first start for the Cardinals next week in Washington, and then the Cardinals have an off week.

Warner will undergo an MRI exam today, and the results could determine the team's interest in bringing in another quarterback.

After the game, Warner said he had a torn ligament but added that surgery had not been discussed.

"We'll see the extent of it and see what we can do as far as getting me back as soon as possible," he said.

so this QB market consists of......?

They should make a play for Grossman right now. Bears arent using him, and he can wing it deep.
