Colin Kaepernick Thread and related anthem kneeling issues/news (2 Viewers)

How?

Goodell admits the NFL was wrong for not listening to the players that were protesting the police brutality.

Now Goodell endorses teams to sign Kapernick.

So if a team signs him it sure seems like he was blackballed until Goodell endorsed it.
It wasn't ever a real excuse.  No one is going to sign him.

#Chargers HC Anthony Lynn says free-agent QB Colin Kaepernick is "on the workout list." Lynn says Kaepernick fits what the team wants to do on offense.

#HardKnocks announced that they will be heading to Los Angeles and will start August 11 on @HBO. The teams that will be featured are the @RamsNFLand @Chargers

You know what would make it more interesting? If the #Chargers sign Colin Kaepernick. https://www.bookieblitz.com/why-the-chargers-need-to-sign-colin-kaepernick/

There are comments there that suggest the officer didn't give the command to release until the end. He does seem to lean and whisper to the dog just before he lets go. If so, that's so much worse.
Yeah...if that is the case that officer needs to face some consequences.  Id hate to blame it on the dog as those K9 units are amazing.

He stunk the last time we did see him play.  He won like 2 games the whole year
He didn’t “stink” the last time we saw him play. His QB rating that year was 90.7, which put him at 17th.

17th in the QB rating is not great but it’s not in the “stinking” category either.

The 49ers were 2-14 that season. As a team the 49ers sucked. Kaepernick’s individual performance that season was mediocre.
Fine no point in arguing sucks vs mediocre.  Does anyone think a mediocre QB that hasn't played in four years is anything better than mediocre?  What are the odds he's still even mediocre?

0-9 with him starting at one point. Nine straight Ls.   Even the worst starting QBs find a way to win once in a while.  Against some stinkers of teams too....

Last year.

Lamar Jackson - Starting WR were Willie Snead and Seth Roberts

Jimmy Garoppolo - Starting WR were Marquise Goodwin and Dante Pettis
Garroppolo had Emmanuel Sanders, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle to work with as his top receivers - Kaep had Jeremy Kerley.

Jackson had Marquise Brown, Mark Andrews and Snead to work with as his top receivers, again an improvement over just Kerley and nothing much else on the team.

How do we know Anquan Bolton didn’t make Kappy look better than he really was?

Why wasn’t randy moss good in Oakland?

why was Wes welker a nobody in Miami?

why does Randall Cobb suck now?
So you are telling me a qb made Moss? A guy that is probably a top 10 receiver all time. Plus he played 2 years in Oakland first year was 1000 and 8, second year sucked.

Because Miami has stunk for a long time, there and he was showing signs of breaking out in his 3rd year. He didn't even really play as a rookie. I believe the Pats traded a 2nd round pick to get him. The Pats are known for trading high picks for bad players right?

Cobb was never that good, but he did just put up 800 yards and 3 tds as the 4th option last year.

E. Sanders was a mid-season trade.   Deebo Samuel was not a starter to begin the season as a rookie.  George Kittle is not a WR.

Mark Andrews is not a WR.  M. Brown was not a starter for most of the season.

And  :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:  at using two rookies to try to make your point.  Two rookies elevated these QBs but veteran WR couldn't make Kaepernick look decent?   Good we agree.

Didn't you just say qbs make the receivers?
Do I need to make a matrix?

We only have one relatively close example, Mike Vick.

Vick left in 2007 his QB rating that year was 75.7, three years later (2 missed because he was in jail, he was on a team his third year but only threw 13 passes) he made the Pro Bowl 2010 with a rating of 100.2.

If Kaepernick comes back it will have to be in a backup role to start off with, maybe after a season as a backup he will be able to compete for a starting position.

Can't argue with the Kaepernick lovers. He's so good he had to move his workout at the last minute when he was given a chance.  He knows he's terrible and didn't want anyone seeing it.
Yep, it's not about football now (duh).

How many teams flew in to watch the workout, then he moves it last minute to a HS field?

It was a publicity stunt (& a bad one at that).

He's more interested in being an activist, which is fine, but don't piss on our leg & tell us it's raining.

Yes it was, for the NFL, who tried a dog and pony show without any advance notice and Kaep wisely didn't go along with it. This was discussed thoroughly earlier in the thread if you are interested in learning more.

I don't think it was too wise IF he actually wanted to play in the NFL. He didn't.

WILL he ever play? I have no clue.

We probably discussed it at the time and I'm forgetting, but what is your defense of him doing the work out in a slave T-shirt. That doesn't feel ingenuous or drama-free to me.
