No surprise. Joe Manchin is very powerful at the moment and he has always played the nepotism game well. The politicians who frequent his boat claim that it's a meeting place where they can connect as people and occasionally reach bipartisan deals. I think it's probably more like a who's who of career 'politicians,' the type who would belong to either party so long as it meant they retained their influence and power.

Gayle Conelly Manchin said that the $1 billion would help the commission "to more adequately meet the overwhelming needs of communities impacted by job losses resulting from the decline in the coal industry. These ARC grants will be instrumental to the long-term diversification and economic growth in Appalachia."
seems like a lot of money to me to help the coal community rebound, but I'm not smart at all on the issue.

If an American child dies because his/her parents cannot afford an EpiPen, then Manchin is neck deep in that utter madness.
His campaign warchest is funded, in large part, by his relationships with Big Pharma.
In order to remain politically viable on a cash basis, Manchin makes it easier for American children to die.
Machin took an oath to serve the American people. But he only serves Big Pharma. Your children are merely cannon fodder that get in the way of that.
That's what I have to say about "this guy's politics"

Like the fact he is living on a boat/yacht whatever in DC. I hate to see any protesting on personal property/residences of politicians regardless of political party. As far as those complaining of him or his wife "making out" from the Infrastructure bill, if you don't think every politician is taking advantage of their office (nice way of saying they are all corrupt) I say good for you.

How many people here at FBG are parents? How many people here who are parents are well to do? How many are struggling financially? How many, if they are well to do, know other parents of other kids in the same age/class grouping as their own children who are struggling financially? An EpiPen can mean the difference between life and death.
Machin lined his pockets, BY SPENDING VAST SUMS OF YOUR TAX DOLLARS TO SUPPORT HIS DAUGHTERS JUGGERNAUT BIG PHARMA EMPIRE by making it easier for American children to die.
His campaign financial warchest is overflowing with blood money.
I'd like to think people are parents before they are political tribalists, but nothing would surprise me at this point.

I think nearly everyone is. Kids and spouses of politicians making bank for no reason other than being the kid or spouse is ridiculous. It has been going on forever and it is gross. It is hardly a left or right thing, although I do find that one side will call out their side more often than the other. Nothing changes though, so not sure it matters

Joe Manchin proposed a deal to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer this summer to limit the total cost of Democrats' sweeping spending bill to $1.5 trillion, according to a copy of the agreement obtained by POLITICO.

He also wants work requirements and means testing. The interesting thing is that this is supposed to help the average to struggling American yet he’s having to fight for means testing to limit the cost.

I would argue that this not even remotely true. The guy who says: “I cannot accept our economy, or basically our society, moving towards an entitlement mentality." Has absolutely zero issue bailing out his corporate donors and lobbyists. Or maybe you can show me some legislation he's proposed specifically designed to help his constituents?

The rest of the democrats can go out and tell everyone how they're going to do X and Y progressive policies (knowing full well it's not going to happen) and then come back and tell their constituents that they tried everything but big bad Joe Manchin foiled them again. Then he's in a state where Trump won heavily so there really won't be too much blowback on his career.

AOC, Omar have mastered the game as well...and it is a game.
Did I mention Omar paid her husband 2.7 million during her last campaign? And AOC is partying and hobnobbing with the so called elite and jet setters. Things Pelosi has done forever.
