One point on the Astros is that they are apparently going to continue using a 6-man rotation. Which could be good for the young guys over the course of the season, but a little tougher for weekly matchup guys.
I guess when you're that stacked with talent, why wouldn't you go with a 6 man rotation. One point on the Astros is that they are apparently going to continue using a 6-man rotation. Which could be good for the young guys over the course of the season, but a little tougher for weekly matchup guys.
Draft first overall every year for a decade?I am definitely very curious to see the progression of the Astros and if Luhnow's overall plan is successful.

I thought Albert was playing first base.... :rimshot:pollardsvision said:Trolling for some corner pop. Hell, I've even spent time pondering not one, but two, SD first baseman.
Really want to pick up Cron again. Is there any indication that the Angels plan on getting the 41 YO with a .550 OPS out of the DH slot anytime soon?
Not sure how deep your league is, or how desperate you are, but Sandberg indicated that Ruf could play his way into a platoon at 1B (he hit a HR his first game there) and Id imagine he'll find AB's in the OF too if he's hitting.pollardsvision said:Trolling for some corner pop. I picked up Medica for a bench spot. I think he's worth keeping an eye on.pollardsvision said:Trolling for some corner pop. Hell, I've even spent time pondering not one, but two, SD first baseman.

That's rough.Need help with my staff in a H2H
Have too many inconsistent guys.
E Santana, Gallardo, Quintana, CJ Wilson, J Zimmerman, Cigriani, Peralta, A Simon
Some of the guys you are talking about are free agents like McHugh and Mcarthy. Vargas and Cosart are also out there. Someone picked up Garcia
Any thoughts
I'd hang on to Peralta. Agree on Simon though.i don't believe in simon or peralta and would probably rather have mccarthy and mchugh, based on the peripherals.
Yeah, I do love Peralta, but he's pitching above his head right. I'd cut some others first, but I could see.i don't believe in simon or peralta and would probably rather have mccarthy and mchugh, based on the peripherals.
probably not yet. Some interesting signs, but very far away from trustworthy right now. Immediate upside doesn't justify the haziness. If you're digging deep I just threw a dart at Peacock. Five straight going 6+, 3 qs, 3 games with at least a k/ip, 34/13 k/bb. Long ball is still hurting him, but if his k's keep going up and bb's down damage will be minimized.Marcus stroman worth an add?
Buster is back in the lineup todayI think I have to drop someone to get another catcher this week. Posey is killing me with this injury.
Who to drop?
Teixeira
Kennedy
Cole
Yordano
I have a lot of SP and just 3 starting spots. (Been trying to trade some, but no takers.)
I like Tex, but in a weekly league he's tough with this on and off stuff.
Kind of ready to cut bait on Yordano, though.

Except for the American Leagueteixeira is very easily dropped in most leagues.
I would think so. It seems that for 3 spots (LF, RF, DH), they've essentially got 4 guys (Kubel, Parmalee, Pinto, Arcia). Pinto hasn't been playing much lately, he pretty much always hits when they do play him. Kubel hasn't done #### this year, though, you'd think he's always going to get ABs if healthy. Parmalee has cooled off since his hot spell. I'm assuming the clock struck midnight on Colabello.Should easily crack that lineup for 5-6 games per week, correct? If you liked Oswaldo Arcia going into the season and sort of forgot about him after the wrist injury, now might be the time to grab him (available in 99% of ESPN leagues). He's destroying AAA and has 5 HRs in the last 10 games. Supposed to be called back up before Monday.
It could get tricky, but he's got the most long-term upside of the bunch (other than Pinto I guess) and is hitting, so I'd assume he'll get his ABs.
If he's up by Monday as suggested, I think he gets to 5 starts this week.
Only owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues and 40% of CBS leagues. He was great today, the curve fooled all the Detroit RH batters.Roenis Elias pitched a CGSO against the Tigers today with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.
In May/June he's got a 44/13 K/BB in 46 IP. His curveball is nasty. Probably should be owned in most leagues if he isn't already.

Don't know if he qualifies as a deep sleeper, but maybe grab Heaney now if you can hold him.Man ive struggled to pick up SPs all year. Ive missed out on guys like Keuchel, Elias, and McHugh while i picked up duds like Duffy, McCarthy, and Erlin. Its the complete opposite how I usually am. Usually i find WW SPs like nothing and struggle to find hitters. This year of picked up bats like Mesoraco, Morse, Brantley, VMart, and Davis off waivers.
Ive been trying to trade bats for SPs but people hoard SPs in my league. I picked up david phelps and Jake arrieta both for their double starts this week. Thats how desperate I am. Any other deep sleepers? I havent had a year like this picking up Pitchers ever before.
I know what you mean, but he has been productive when he's played and is still owned in 83% of leagues (though down from 91% yesterday).the moops said:teixeira is very easily dropped in most leagues.
I've enjoyed the productivity so far, but Im parking him on the bench for now with the realization that he'll probably be dumped soon. But I am having a very hard time justifying him in a weekly league.
At minimum, it'll push him down a spot in the batting order and keep him out of the lineup in some upcoming interleague games. If Carter ends up platooning with Marc Krauss, there's got to be some better option in your league.Picked up C. Carter to fill a major hole at 1B after Colabello fell apart/got sent down. How much is the Singleton (he's long gone in my league) promotion going to hurt him?

I drafted in my home league and he's making a great platoon. I'm doing the Oakland A's shtick right now, platooning Lind, Butler, Perez, Blackmon, Seth Smith, and Bourn based on match-ups. So far...so good.Smack Tripper said:Adam Lind got me few knocks this weekend...
