[Dynasty] 2015 Draft Prospects (1 Viewer)

Kevin White is such a stud. Already leading the NCAA in yards.

Today vs. Baylor, 8 catches for 132 yards and 2 TD's, as well as 4-5 defensive PI calls that he drew.

Total monster.

I still say he's a top 5, Hell I'd take him over any WR available for 2015.

I've been a Cooper believer for a long time, but White is right there for me. Nobody else is close to those two right now, and I've got Funchess 3rd.

Kind of funny how someone (EBF maybe?) spent all offseason saying that the WR position was lacking exciting pro prospects in college football. Whoops, the NCAA looks loaded with WR talent right now.

Players emerge every year. I wouldn't say the class is loaded. I don't see it stacking up with last year's group.

Cooper is still the top guy. White has been extremely impressive, though. This WR class is turning I to a great one.

I think, if everyone comes out that you'd think, it absolutely rivals last year's class. With the difference being that there are more prototypical #1 WR sized prospects between 6'2"-6'5". Cooper/White/whoever else emerges at the top might rival Watkins/Evans, or at least be close enough. Then you're looking for the guys that match up with Cooks/Beckham/Benjamin and I think this class compares favorably there, with talented depth to rival last years as well.

We had five WRs in the first round last year. Maybe we can match that this year if Cooper, White, and Funchess go that high and a few borderline guys like Montgomery and Parker push themselves over the hump. I don't think the quality in the middle rounds will match up with last year's group though. That was a pretty strong class with the likes of Robinson, Lee, Adams, Latimer, and Moncrief all sliding into the 2nd-3rd round.

I think it's easy to get excited about guys when they're dominating scrubs in college, but weighing them against the standards of the NFL will usually dampen some of that optimism. I think if you stacked your top 10 from this 2015 class against the top 10 from last year's draft, I would personally prefer most of the 2014 options.

Dyer in pads and warming up for Louisville.

:towelwave:
Well, Louisville finally let the monster out of its cage today. Dyer got the start and is currently sitting on 21 carries for 129 yards (6.1 YPC) deep into the 4th quarter against NC State. It's his first 100+ yard game since 2011. Much-needed too, since his draft stock was on life support after a quiet start to the season.

.....aaaaaaand there's a 46 yard TD to ice the game. Welcome back, Mr. Dyer.

I'm lucky enough to have Cooper but I would trade White straight up with Funchess and I believe before it's all said and done he'll pass Cooper. I've said to before, he's a Larry Fitzgerald clone.

And i have Funchess too but would make that trade any day of the week. He's the WR to go grab because I doubt if anyone ever saw this coming to Draft him in their Devy League.

Passing Cooper is a tall order. It's possible, but I doubt it. I'm curious to see his measurables at the combine. He looks like a player so I'm not concerned. Just curious.

Baylor redshirt senior Bryce Petty continues to be ranked as Mel Kiper's No. 3 QB.

Petty is also a top 25 player on Kiper's big board. Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston rank as the top two quarterbacks, with Brett Hundley, Connor Cook, Sean Mannion and Dak Prescott checking in after Petty. The Baylor quarterback won multiple weekly college football awards this week thanks to his and the school's late comeback victory against TCU, but as a whole his performance was bad. Petty really struggles throwing from pressure and to covered receivers. That is a problem.

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes the gap between Notre Dame redshirt junior QB Everett Golson and FSU's QB Jameis Winston "isn't as big as most think."

"For the first time this season, Golson will be the second-best quarterback prospect on the field, but the gap between him and Winston isn't as big as most think. Although he doesn't have Winston's size, Golson does have a just as impressive arm and is a better overall athlete, using his mobility to extend plays and find passing lanes, Brugler writes. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Golson has 16 touchdowns in the air and 4 touchdowns on the ground in 2014, but also has nine turnovers. The Fighting Irish QB, has lost 5 fumbles and thrown 4 interceptions this season. According to Brugler, Golston "will need to be mistake free against Florida State's fast defense" this weekend.

While FSU TE Nick O'Leary may be the "more well-known prospect," it's Notre Dame senior TE Ben Koyack who "could be the be the better senior NFL prospect," according to CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.

"Although TE Nick O'Leary is the more well-known tight end prospect in this contest, Koyack might be the better senior NFL prospect. Like O'Leary, there isn't much special about the Notre Dame tight end, but both are steady and reliable and Koyack shows better flexibility and overall size to match up with defenders at the next level," Brugler wrote. Brugler adds that the 6-foot-5, 261-pound Koyack "is a reliable possession target with fluid routes and an aggressive catching radius to attack the ball with his hands."

Oct 16 - 3:08 PM
Florida State senior WR Rashad Greene's "lack of size and bulk is a question mark for the NFL, but his production and dependability speaks for itself and will likely land him in the top-100 picks."

"Greene lines up all over the field and does his best work in the slot where he can manipulate the middle of the field and use his sudden footwork in space. His lack of size and bulk is a question mark for the NFL, but his production and dependability speaks for itself and will likely land him in the top-100 picks," Brugler wrote. The FSU prospect has hauled in 44 receptions, 683 yards (15.1 yard average) and 3 touchdowns halfway through the season. In 2013, Greene finished with 76 receptions, 1,128 yards and nine scores. Brugler notes that Greene "uses his short-area quickness and reliable hands to finish catches and be a threat with the ball."

Al.com's Brandon Marcello notes that Auburn redshirt senior RB Corey Grant "reps at tailback have taken a considerable hit."

"You're right, his touches the last few games have been down, but he has still made plays with it," Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee told Al.com. "It's a good problem with those guys, but we've got to do a better job managing and making sure that we're getting them the touches when they need it and the right kind of touches." In the first four games of the season, the 5-foot-11, 201-pound Grant averaged 18 snaps, but in the last two games for the Tigers he's only 6.5 snaps. Marcello notes that Grant has seen a decrease of playing time of 63.9 percent. Last week versus Mississippi State, Grant only had two carries during their 38-23 loss. Last season, Grant finished with 647 yards last season with an incredible 9.8 yards per carry.

Notre Dame redshirt junior QB Everett Golson "still has a lot to improve as an NFL prospect," according to ESPN.com's Kevin Weidl.

"The main area of concern right now is his consistency functioning from the pocket," Weidl wrote. Specifically, the analyst believes Golson at times has difficulty finding throwing lanes in the pocket due to his size (6-foot, 200 pounds) and must rely on reads (leading to a few "blind" throws). Weidl also mentions that Golson's "decision-making and ball security have dipped the past three games." In conclusion, the analyst discussed the oft-made comparison between Golson and Russell Wilson. Weidl believes Wilson was more developed than Golson at a similar juncture in his career: "First, Wilson had better overall pocket presence. Second, Wilson had tremendous field and situational awareness. As we've seen in his tenure in Seattle, he is so often in control even when plays break down, and improvises with a plan. He showed those traits in college, too." Weidl says Golson is currently a fifth-round developmental prospect.

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler points out that Baylor senior WR Antwan Goodley "has been on fire over the last three games."

In those three contests, he's gone off for 18 receptions, 341 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Goodley didn't record a catch in the first three games of the season while dealing with a quad injury, but has acquitted himself as well as could have been hoped since returning. The 5-foot-10, 220-pound prospect, who runs a 4.39 second forty, hauled in 71 passes for 1,339 yards and 13 scores last year.

Oct 16 - 7:00 PM
Oklahoma senior TE Blake Bell "has been impressive as a blocker and is improving each game," according to CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.

The former QB has only eight catches this season, but that doesn't mean pro scouts are ignoring him. On the contrary, Bell's 6-foot-6, 260-pound frame, blocking ability, and steady improvement on the field have the NFL dreaming on a projection. Bell only runs a 4.97 forty, and he's raw in the passing game, so he'll have to continue to progress to hear his named called in the spring.

Oct 16 - 8:35 PM
Arizona State redshirt senior QB Mike Bercovici "has piqued the interest of scouts looking for a productive pocket passer with outstanding arm talent," according to NFL.com's Bucky Brooks.

"Bercovici has already shown evaluators that he has the ability to make every throw in the book, but putting on an impressive showing against a stingy Cardinal defense [on Saturday] will squash some of the conversation about him being a streaky passer who is simply in the midst of a hot streak," Brooks wrote. "While some scouts will still consider the Arizona State standout a bit of a 'system QB' due to the Sun Devils' fast-paced scheme, another eye-popping performance against one of the league's 'elites' will thrust him into the spotlight in draft rooms across the league." ASU starting QB Taylor Kelly is being called a game-time decision for this one. Even if Kelly is cleared, ASU is expected to use both quarterbacks. Bercovici has gone 69-for-113 for 998 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions over the past two contests while filling in for Kelly.

West Virginia senior WR Kevin White caught eight passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns in the school's 41-27 win over Baylor.

White made many contested catches against a super physical corner in redshirt sophomore Xavien Howard. Perhaps the most improved player in the country, White made a one handed grab for his second score and consistently worked back to his quarterback when Clint Trickett was under duress. It is tough to peg White's draft status since he continues to emerge.

Baylor senior WR Antwan Goodley caught nine passes for 132 yards and a touchdown in the school's 41-27 loss to West Virginia.

Goodley still has his issues when having to catch away from his body, but with the ball in his hands he runs like a running back. This was on display on a 63 yard touchdown catch and run. His draft process will be an interesting one, likely full of praise and criticism.

Oct 18 - 4:26 PM
Maryland junior WR Stefon Diggs caught nine passes for 130 yards and a touchdown in the school's 38-31 win over Iowa.

Diggs took a screen pass 53 yards for a touchdown, showcasing vision and straight-line speed. This might not be a common opinion, but Diggs is a linear athlete and his role might be impacted because of it. There has been no indication if he will declare for the draft or not.

Oct 18 - 4:50 PM
Duke senior WR Jamison Crowder had eight catches for 99 yards in Saturday's win against Virginia.

The Blue Devil has recorded six receptions or more in five of seven games, though Crowder has only gone over 100 yards once, part of the reason why his YPC average (11.6) is lower than in each of the past two campaigns. He also hasn't crossed the goal line since Week 1. The 5-foot-9 Crowder set a new school record in receptions (108) and receiving yards (1,360) last year, numbers he won't match in 2014. Crowder, who runs a 4.53 forty, was graded by TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline as a preseason Round 7 prospect.

Oct 18 - 6:14 PM
In his return to the field, Louisville senior WR DeVante Parker (toe) hauled in nine passes for 132 yards in Saturday's win against North Carolina State.

Parker missed the Cardinals' first seven games after breaking a bone in his left foot in late-August. Though he didn't reach the end zone, Louisville QB Will Gardner followed in Teddy Bridgewater's footsteps by targeting Parker early and often. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound Parker (55 receptions for 885 yards and a UL-record-tying 12 touchdowns last year) is one of the nation's best WR prospects. With a 4.39 forty, a 10-foot, 10-inch broad jump, an 80-inch wingspan, and a ridiculous catch radius, Parker is a likely future first-rounder. Rotoworld's Josh Norris ranks Parker as the No. 2 draft-eligible receiver, behind Oklahoma's Dorial Green-Beckham.

Oct 18 - 7:16 PM
Louisville senior RB Michael Dyer went off for 173 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries in Saturday's triumph over North Carolina State.

To put this performance in perspective, Dyer entered the day with 65 rushing yards and zero touchdowns on 26 carries. All season. Of course, Dyer's health has been an issue throughout, costing him a few games at the start of the season. "He was powerful, decisive and elusive, all the things he usually is when he's fully healthy," the Louisville Courier-Journal wrote of the performance. The talent has always been apparent: Dyer rushed for 1,242-yards as a sophomore at Auburn in 2011.

Oct 18 - 7:31 PM
Michigan State junior QB Connor Cook completed 24-of-32 attempts for three touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 56-17 win over Indiana.

Believe it or not, this was just the second time this season that Cook cracked 300 yards passing. Cook looks outstanding in a clean pocket, waiting for breakout WR Tony Lippett to get a step on his defender, but he gambles a bit too much at this juncture in his career for our liking. Rotoworld's Josh Norris ranks Cook as the No. 4 draft-eligible QB. "Has to improve how he manages the pocket. Has to," Norris wrote. "But on a team that will keep him clean on most snaps in the pocket, Cook will have success. That is an unrealistic scenario to ask for."

Source: Rotoworld
Oct 18 - 8:21 PM
Michigan State redshirt senior WR Tony Lippett had seven catches for 123 yards against Indiana on Saturday.

During Michigan State's 6-1 start, Lippett has exceeded 100 yards in five contests. He's scored a touchdown in six of seven, with Saturday's game marking the first time he has been deprived of paydirt in 2014. An AFC scout told NFL.com last month that Lippett's improvement "has been dramatic in less than a year's time." We agree. Lippett is one of the nation's most improved receivers.

Oct 18 - 8:53 PM
Indiana junior RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 132 yards on 15 carries in Saturday's loss to Michigan State.

He also had two catches for six yards; believe it or not, that was more than half the school's receiving yard total. Coleman never had a chance, really. Indiana is down to No. 3 freshman QB Zander Diamont. Michigan State's talented defense didn't have to worry about getting gouged in the air (IU finished 5-for-16 for 11 yards) and keyed in on Coleman. Even so, the speedster finished with another 100-yard performance. He hasn't been held below 100 yards yet this season, though he was deprived of the end zone for the first time on Saturday.

Oct 18 - 8:40 PM
UCLA junior WR Jordan Payton had five catches for 47 yards in Saturday's win over California.

After collecting 38 catches last year, Payton has broken out with 42 receptions for 605 yards and five touchdowns this season. "Payton's hands are so strong," an NFC GM told NFL.com earlier this week. "You can tell he puts the time in working on his skills. Not your prototypical slot receiver build, but he can work both inside and outside the numbers, and welcomes being the go-to guy." Added the site's draft analysts Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks and Charles Davis: "His hands are one of his best assets, but he's a pretty complete receiver, runs routes well, and has good speed."

Oct 18 - 9:52 PM
Alabama junior RB T.J. Yeldon rushed for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 13 carries in Saturday's 59-0 demolition of Texas A&M.

He also had three receptions for 45 yards. This was only the second time Yeldon has cracked the century mark since the season opener. With Alabama's ridiculous backfield depth, perhaps that shouldn't come as a surprise. One analyst isn't concerned. NFL.com's Charles Davis wrote earlier this week that Yeldon "certainly could be a high-volume guy if asked." After coming into this game with a disappointing 4.9 YPC, Yeldon slapped down an 8.8 YPC average today.

Just a coincidence I think, EBF is one of the more prolific, opinionated posters here and when he didn't mention White in his rankings then, I found it interesting.

Gotcha.

DeVante Parker

Watch the quickness off the line. The choppy steps to get the CB off-balance. You can tell he's been working at his technique.

http://gfycat.com/IdioticBoilingJunco

The quick slant was there all day because Parker was so quick. Pretty amazing for a long-strider to refine his technique this well. He was also breaking/slipping tackles and those long strides just allow him to accelerate after the catch so well.

There were 2 end zone targets that he should have put more effort to jump and snag, though.

Rotoworld:

Oregon junior TE Pharaoh Brown had three catches for 99 yards in Saturday's 45-20 victory over Washington.

It was a career game for Brown, one week after he posted his previous career best yardage mark (five catches for 84 yards and a touchdown in a 42-30 victory over UCLA). The 6-foot-5, 241-pounder is a little raw, but he runs a 4.74 forty and could turn himself into a hot prospect if he continues to gain Marcus Mariota's confidence. Rob Rang of CBS Sports wrote over the summer that Brown "has the talent to be Oregon's next star tight end" because he's "a talented athlete with good size and big, soft hands."

Oct 19 - 5:26 PM
Ole Miss senior QB Bo Wallace completed 13-of-28 attempts for 199 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 34-3 win against Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4, 217-pound Wallace hasn't thrown an interception in the month of October. He's improved his pro projection greatly this season while leading Ole Miss to a 7-0 start. Wallace's stats are up across the board: His completion percentage has improved each of the past two years, his YPA is up from 7.66 to 9.09, and he's posted a 17/6 TD/INT ratio after logging an 18/10 TD/INT ratio last year.

Rotoworld:

ESPN's Steve Muench ranks Michigan junior WR Devin Funchess as the No. 1 TE prospect.

"Funchess has the speed to play receiver, where he lines up now, and his NFL future may be on the outside as well," Muench wrote. "However, he has the frame to play F and he lined up at tight end earlier in his career. Funchess will never be an overpowering in-line run-blocker who can generate much push working against the front-side defensive end, but he could add 10 to 15 pounds and develop into a passable positional blocker with improved hand placement and pad level." The analyst believes the 6-foot-5 and 230-pound Funchess could stand to improve his ability to catch the ball away from his body. "But the reason he tops my board is his big-play ability. His speed, size and athleticism allow him to win 50-50 balls downfield," Muench wrote. "Plus, he has above-average burst after the catch. While he's also a big-play threat at receiver, he's that much more dangerous at tight end because he gets more favorable matchups."

This was a great article. Thanks for all you do Faust.
Very nice article but I don't see Jeffery with White. Not sure who I see just yet but Jeffery isn't the guy. He's more athletic than Jeffery and not nearly as big.
Yea, White doesn't look 6'3". Might be closer to 6'1". I'd say he's more like DeAndre Hopkins. 6'3" guys usually "tower" over DBs on tape and you can easily see it. Guys like Allen Robinson and DeVante Parker.

I see some Fitzgerald in White's play.
Same here, I've Said It Over And Over again. White will be top 2 taken in the draft. His talent just can't be ignored anymore. People are starting to see what we've been saying since the year started.

The analyst believes the 6-foot-5 and 230-pound Funchess could stand to improve his ability to catch the ball away from his body.

More and more people are seeing the same vision. TE is the best position for him.
There are plenty who see him as a WR. He's best at TE because.....? He used to play there?

I'll take Funchess at WR before someone like Ty Montgomery.

If you are looking for a mismatch TE that is 6'5", 230-235lbs his name is Jerell Adams.

ESPN's Steve Muench ranks Michigan junior WR Devin Funchess as the No. 1 TE prospect.

"Funchess has the speed to play receiver, where he lines up now, and his NFL future may be on the outside as well," Muench wrote. Maybe we can let the NFL team that drafts him decide?

So we can't discuss, seems like the growing view is he's a better mismatch at TE which is what most teams try to do, create offensive mismatches. He'll be a nightmare at TE. Either way he's already on my team so I have no choice but to accept what happens to him at the next level but the TE theory can't be pushed to the side because it's growing.
