Demario Davis (1 Viewer)

Can any NYJ fans comment on how he's been playing?

Anybody still seeing a great future for him at his current spot?

Will he ever replace Harris?

I'm not a NYJ fan, but I had pretty high hopes for him. I have tempered a lot of the excitement I had for him early on.

he's definitely a hold given the personnel there. more of a bye week filler than anything.

Scott is out and Rex has anointed Davis as the starting WIL for 2014 to start next to Harris. If that holds true into the season, I imagine he'll play every down since he played in Nickel packages almost exclusively last year.

What can we expect from Demario in 2014?

He's the starter since September 2013 and played every down last year (1077 snaps out of 1130: 95.3%).

And he wasn't very good according to PFF.

Yeah I must have misread someone's analysis of his 2013 usage. Seems like he's earned some more playing time and Garnered some praise from his coaches which leads me to believe his opportunity will rise.

Is the loss of Scott, move to (or official designation of) the "#1 WIL on the roster" and Rex's praise all just smoke, mirrors and coach speak Fluff? Or should we be paying attention?

I think that is what he was last season. The D-line is very good, and limits his tackle opportunities. The coaches seem to love the guy and keep calling him a building block, and he is great in coverage, so I suspect that he will continue to be a 3-down player. However, as long as M Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Harrison are in front of him, I'd temper my expectations.

Having said that, I just drafted him in my IDP startup, so I clearly like the guy, but one has to have an explanation for the mediocre numbers last season despite playing every down and winning the acclaim of the coaches.
