Westbrook Practices; Downgraded to Questionable

Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (knee) has been downgraded to questionable for Week 7. He was, however, able to practice Friday, Oct. 20, according to a team release.

any homers with insight or is this just the same old story week in and week? i.e. stay tuned for any last minute inactivation as this will be a GTD weekly.

Guys the article about him practicing today is probably all we will hear. We have no way of determing what will happen. I posted the article from philadelphiaeagles.com and that is about as updated as it gets.

As usual with Westbrook, it is probably soemthing you may need to monitor the next 36 hours....but that is part of what you get owning Westbrook.

I am running the graveyard shift tonight and if there is any "new" news it will be posted. Other than that, there really isnt anything anyone hear can tell you that will be definitive.

Apparantly he was unable to make it through the entire practice Thursday, but was OK today. Maybe the downgrade was based off yesterday?

From Eagles.com - "Running back Brian Westbrook returned to practice Friday after sitting out Thursday. He is listed as questionable."

Anyhow, if he was able to go full Friday, I think he's good to go Sunday.

I heard from my brothers girlfriend who knows a guy who washes the Eagles jersey's that it is his other knee that held him out on Thursday!

This sucks because I currently have Westbrook in my lineup and I'm leaving to go out of town tmr. morning. I won't be back until Sunday afternoon and will be without computer access since I'll be dove hunting.

Maybe spend less time shooting innocent little birds, and more time managing your fantasy team! :)I would give a friend access to your team, or let it be known to leaguemates that if Westbrook is ruled out before gametime, then you want so-and-so to play instead.

Cell phone down?? Surely theres someone you could call to get the latest news before your lineup deadline, and then call your commish, no?

It's usually a pretty bad sign when someone is downgraded late in the week. I remember reading a stat that a large majority of players downgraded late in the week don't play on Sunday..... but they usually aren't practicing Friday either.

Stay Tuned.

In between shots I'd be happy to give you an update if the cell phone works out in the woods

Good idea. I'll email the commish before I leave and see if he is willing.

Aren't doves just rural pigeons? And Shoot'n'em on sunday? Isn't there something in the bible about doves and peace and Our Father? Pray that westbrook plays so you can bag a few more.

Damn that's hot girl.
I'll be shooting them (and surroundings) with the camera while the GF shoots them with the gun. I just emailed my commish asking him to please replace Westbrook with Driver if Westbrook isn't going to start. I'm not playing him this week so I feel safe about it.

Do you shoot them before or after he does?

Fixed. I'd also imagine Mac would shoot them first with the camera. On the subject at hand, this seems par for the course. I'll be starting Westbrook again.

Dave Spadaro who writes for Eagles Digest and Eagles.com said on 610 WIP this morning (Sat, 10/21) that Westbrook and Stallworth practiced yesterday and he's said he expects Westbrook to play but not Stallworth.

I hope your comment was just humor because im sick of hearing this type of comments about Hunters

It is apparent you do not understand the neccesity of hunters. Due to the fact that we (human not hunters) have eliminated most predators it is necessary to control the population via artifical measures. MY family are porfessional hunters and I have seen the damage animals will do if left unchecked. Not only do they distroy crops and land (feces riuns farm land) but left uncheck the odds of spreading disease or genetic anomolies raises quickly. Please keep an open mind to hunting we have license ecologist tell us how many of which breed and sex we have to hunt in order to maintain an optimal environment also we donate all the meat to the Texas department of social services. the Days of Drunken good ole boys shotting and killing everything they see is long gone. Ok enough of a distraction back to FF.

On the brightside, Westbrook's game is a 1:00 start.
this is something too many people overlook.
Right, if you have a flex just stick Westbook there and pay attention. At worst you exchange hm for a WR. This week for me however he has to play as most of my team is on a bye.
I'm in the same boat. I currently have 5 skill players to fill 5 positions due to byes (2rb 2wr flex), so if Westbrook can't go it's a quick trip to the Waiver Wire for me to grab someone who could at least get me a couple of points.I was relieved to see it's a 1:00 start for just this very reason.

Please don't piss in the Shark Pool, especially when someone clearly labelled their humor with a :) . There's a Free For All if you want to get on your soapbox about non-football issues.

*Still laughing at the folks predicting him to finish top-5 fresh off of decent performances against scrub teams early in the season*

Back to the topic at hand.........

From Rotoworld this morning:

ESPN's John Clayton reports Brian Westbrook (questionable, hamstring) "should be a go" versus Tampa Bay in Week 7.

The Philly Inquirer agrees, reporting Saturday that "the Eagles clearly plan for Westbrook to play," despite oddly being downgraded after returning to practice fully on Friday. Facing a Bucs defense that ranks 26th in the league and allows over 140 rushing yards-per-game, Westbrook can be penciled into fantasy lineups. Check back Sunday morning to be safe.

Pardon me for the hijack...I just needed to gloat....

Picked up Westbrook, Palmer and Maroney for Tiki, Bledsoe and Favre.

I rule.

Due to our burglar alarm going off, I am home now and able to monitor the situation with Westbrook. Whew.
