After watching the game last night and having to listen to Collinsworth and whoever that other guy was talk about SAGE ROSENFELS you would think SCHAUB was a nothing ...

personally i think Sage is a excellent backup .. but thats about it ... from what i saw when SCHAUB played he was very strong and seemed to still have some ceiling to his potential ..... ( especially since he was playing basicaly without A.J for most of the season )

is Schaub in trouble moving forward into 2008 ?

No way, too much of an investment on the part of the Texans to give up on him yet, especially considering what he showed during the season. Schaub is quality.

Nope but it's a good problem for the Texans to have. Sage has been better than I expected that's for sure.

Sage was solid last year. There is little to no dropoff with him in the game. It's a good thing for the Texans. It would be better for us FFL'ers if they would share with another NFL team...like SF or BALT!!!!

Just a nice safety blanket for the Texans. They may ride the hot hand for the rest of the year, but Schaub's the guy. It's nice having Sage if you own Andre, though.

What Schaub really needs to focus on is staying healthy and staying upright. Hopefully getting beat up this year was more of a fluke, but we'll have to see.

This reminds me of me "OMFGZORS Charlie Batch is a stud - Bench Big Ben" threads. He's a backup, doing what a backup should, holding down the fort.

Batch was a turd, is a turd and always will be a turd. Anyone singing that bum's praises is just clueless. Sage produced in Miami and Houston with lesser teams. He just has yet to be given a solid chance playing for hacks like Saban and Wandstadt.

No.

Cris Collinsworth just loves the sound of his own voice, and would love to think that he was the first to stir up some trouble.

:goodposting: Batch has been just fine as a bu here in Pittsburgh. Very happy to have him here.

I doubt he's in any trouble. I still think he's one of the best young WCO QBs in the league.I like this team next season if they can get and stay healthy. Finding a solid RB wouldn't hurt either.

Sage is a good QB, but I think Schaub has more upside. I do remember getting laughed at for saying Sage was better than Carr back in the day. :moneybag:

I dont see it. The offense is on a whole nuther level with Schaub. Rosenfels has shown himself to definitely be a starting quality QB in this league - too bad for him (and good for the Texans) that he signed a four year deal this year. Maybe the Texans can pull a Falcons and trade him for first day pick or two right before Schaub goes down in a cockfighting ring.

Given how many games Schaub started but did not finish due to injury, I doubt that the Texans would trade Sage. He is a valuable asset for a team who does not know yet whether its starter can last an entire season.

Yeah, Schaub forces their hand to have a 1a and 1b quarterback. If he were regularly healthy maybe one could be moved(contract permitting) to another team but....

Watching last night I thought some of his passes could have benefited from a little more.... snap. That's a minor note rather than a criticism.

Sugar Sage on the move. He is a strong backup, and would make for a decent starter on teams in need.

If some teams values Sage as a starting QB and will give compensation for a starting QB, then of course the Texans should trade him. Especially with a QB who no one is sure can hold up, the value of back-up familiar with a coaches system is greater to the team than the league in general (see Charlie Batch). Back-up QB is a very "you always find one until you actually need one" situation.
