Ever since he hurt his neck against Dallas last year I think it was, Woodyard looks like he's playing cautiously. This guy used to play with a Steve Smith type chip on his shoulder a very aggressive defensive player and tackler and he just flew into people, but since that injury I have not seen the old WW. Just mho.
He's been a productive FF IDP player. I'm not sure I'd say his bad game came as a result of Williamson. They are not mutually exclusive. A bad game is going to happen. That said it looks like they're high on Williamson and he could be a dynasty hold.
On the IDP roundtable, they suggested that Woodyard is coming out mainly in subpackages, but is still near Williamson (their 3down LB) in snaps because Williamson gets every 3rd series off for rest. I might not have the exactly right so my apologies if not, but I'm pretty sure that was the premise. Either way, it didn't paint a hopeful picture for Woodyard.
doesn't matter to me. williamson is getting tackles and the opportunity to blitz effectively. woodyard has 1 1/2 sacks for the season. williamson has 3 and wasn't starting early in the season.
