Dorsett was just a really bad move.
Just imagine if the Colts had gone Malcom Brown > D'joun Smith > Henry Anderson. Now that would seriously shore up a run defense that was currently doing a very good impression of an EZ-pass lane.
And there are still really interesting WRs available...
My thoughts so far:
Round 1 - Nelson Agholor, WR
Good value and seems versatile. I'm sure Chip likes that he can contribute on ST.
Round 2 - Eric Rowe, CB/S
Great value as most seemed to have him as late 1st/early 2nd talent. I love his skills and am happy the Eagles moved up to secure him...
I like Crabtree as FA WR option. Super talented but held back by the SF offense / QB play / injury. I think he could be had for a cheap deal due to those factors.
JMatt, Maclin & Crabtree would be a fearsome WR set.
After letting Tate & Harvin go because of locker room issues, would they take a risk on a potential "drama" guy? (honest question)
How is DGB with teammates?
And if I'm Mariota, I would do everything in my power to avoid the Browns. The ownership & current FO have so far shown zero clue that they know how to manage things.
I would not want my career tanked (for the length of the rookie contract at least) by going there.
It's both right now.
Of course he's on their preliminary #1 pick list (along with Jameis, best WR, best defensive guy & best OL). It's too early though for them to have locked in yet (no combine or pro day yet).
I think there's a low but very real possibility that Tampa passes on QB...
