Guice -- Lots of interest in how this starts shaking out early in the season. Drafted him with a late 1st rookie pick last year after the ACL tear, considered him the #2 rookie if that hadn't happened. Interested to see how he performs coming back from injury, and to see how the backfield shakes...
Very interested in both these situations. I'll also say I'm interested to see how Boykin does in Baltimore. Waldman had him as his #2 WR in the RSP, and he seems to be starting already and got training camp buzz. I think the Baltimore offense could be more fantasy-relevant than people are expecting.
Here's the numbers from my only remaining league, which I've been in for 20 years. Pulled rosters going back to 2014. League has a taxi/practice squad which allows you to you keep rookies/drafted FAs on it indefinitely, until you activate them to regular roster (max 10 players). That almost...
I was heavily contemplating moving Gore all off-season right up to the trade deadline, and I regret that I didn't. I'll be shopping him around to see what gets offered, but I have a feeling that his value is never going to recover. By the time he's back from the hip, then (hopefully)...
Out: ADP, Gore, Marshall, Nicks.
Dinged: Henne, Gates, Stewart, Jennings, Austin, McCoy.
Sucking: Fitzgerald, McFadden, Celek.
It feels dirty to complain about such a dynasty roster, but it is seriously falling to pieces at exactly the wrong time. 8-4, almost locked up a playoff spot, but...
This is why I heavily prefer late rookie drafts. I've seen a lot of griping around here about how that helps weaker teams (particular re: Mike Williams rocketing up the boards this year), but honestly, I don't think it does. I'm far more confident in my ability to keep up and analyze rookie...
I'd basically tier things out as Big 4, then Thomas, Bradford, Williams, then big drop into the muddled middle. Williams is an instant pick for me at 1.07, and justifiable at 1.06. I'm really hoping he slips to me at 1.08 this weekend. Too lazy to google for a better, more recent summary of the...
Looking over the rankings in-depth, a few comments:
QB
Henne: Completely agree with your analysis, glad I snagged him up in my recent startup as a QB2. I'd personally bump him up to the bottom of Tier 2, as I'd personally group him with Flacco and Ryan, rather than Kolb/Stafford/Sanchez...
I assume you mean Golden Tate in the second reference there, since you're referring to WRs. Honestly, the more I look at it, I'm almost certainly going WR/WR, or RB/WR if Hardesty falls to me.*My question was more focused on whether I'm way undervaluing Ben Tate. But I'll play a little QB devil...
4pt passing TDs or 6pt passing TDs?Had a decent amount of discussion about this when I took him at 1.09 in my startup. Depends on who goes where. Non-PPR might push him up a bit, but 4pt passing TDs would push him down a bit. I felt like 1.08 was the earliest. But if the 8 guys I expected to go...
The team I posted was from a 12 team league, yes.
To weigh in, I don't view this team as one that is "immediately rebuilding." Rebuilding, to me, is when you have an aging mediocre roster that you have to start blowing up to get younger. This is more of a post-rebuild team. Barring some of those...
Took Rodgers in the first in a start-up, not regretting it at all. PPR, 6pt QB TDs, start 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1FLEX/1K/1DEF, team through 16 rounds:
(1.09) Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB
(10.09) Henne, Chad MIA QB
(2.04) Charles, Jamaal KCC RB (P)
(3.04) Greene, Shonn NYJ RB
(7.02) Hardesty, Montario...
Sig. Wonky scoring system favors QBs and players more likely to score out of position (QB rush TDs, RB rec TDs, etc.
Feel like I'm already deep and set at all positions for a long time. Given the QB-favorable scoring, I can also expect at least Bradford to go before my 1.08/1.09/1.12 rookie...
I liked Edwards enough to draft him as a rookie, and was high on him when he took over for Losman. That said, I think he's been Carr'd into oblivion at this point. Per Rotoworld, just two of his 183 pass attempts were 40 yards or longer last year. He's earned the title of Captain Checkdown for a...
Local, very long running league (~25 years). Took over an absolutely horrid team about 10 years ago; took about 2 years to learn the ropes (ie, sucking), and about 5 of accumulating value anywhere and everywhere I could find it. It's no Shark Pool league; there's one or two pretty bad owners...
Judging by this thread, I still like Leinart as a dirt cheap guy to stash. Full disclosure: Leinart owner here -- got him as a VERY cheap trade throw-in last year.
Yeah, the odds are very bad that he'll put it all together this year (and he HAS to do it this year). Yeah, it's highly likely that...
I've had Sage Rosenfels since his rookie year (2001).
But that's simply due to our league having a reserve roster; anyone you pick in the rookie/FA draft goes onto the reserve roster by default, and that's the only way to place someone on your reserve roster. You can't start anyone...
Frankly, I agree. And in QB-friendly leagues, it could be extended as far as pick 11-12. It feels a lot like last year's draft in some ways, except that it's more shallow at WR and deeper at TE:- Two solid -- but not mind-blowing -- RBs (Mathews/Spiller '10, Wells/Moreno '09) and a top WR with...
