Looking to add keepers to my league. I would like draft day to be as exciting as possible while having keepers. Who has a keeper league with an exciting draft day? What are the rules?
As a long time commissioner of a 10+ year league I'm thinking about switching to a survivor pool next season. Seems like it would be really fun without very much of a time commitment and more of a jackpot if you win.
I'm thinking about going with this strategy as well. I've noticed in my league that the top guys at the very beginning of the auction go for a value. I think everyone is waiting for the top guys to set the market. Everyone starts off patiently then they go in feeding frenzy mode. For example...
That's a great point. There really isn't need for keepers in auction because every team has an equal chance at acquiring all players. In a snake draft your guys can get "stolen" from you, but not in an auction.
Ya that's a good idea. I should have drafted JPP in the last round of our draft last year (I grabbed Cliff Avril instead) I also picked up Navarro Bowman as a free agent. 99% chance I will not be able to get Rodgers. The Rodgers owner has had him for 4 years and won a championship with him last...
Have you been in a dynasty start-up? If so, did everyone go for young talent? I'm a contrarian by nature. Should I do the opposite and go after older players? Drew Brees, Adrian Peterson, Andre Johnson, Antonio Gates? Try to steal a championship right away?
This year will be the start-up auction dynasty. I'm guessing he will go for a pretty good price. We have a Detroit fan in the league and he had Calvin Johnson and Stafford last year. I'm thinking I might try and get RG3 (future star) Andy Dalton (great QB2 for a long time) and Matt Schaub (cheap...
My league is switching to a dynasty format this year. 1 QB 1 RB 2 WR's 1 TE 1 Flex ppr / 1DL 1LB 1DB 1 DFlex Big play defensive scoring. Auction, 22 total roster spots.
Here is my strategy so far going into the auction. Going after young proven talent. What do you guys think?
QB Mathew...
I'm thinking all teams have 1 franchise player. On draft day all teams have a handful of players they can throw into the auction (anyone from another team) and teams get to keep a majority of their roster.
Has anyone tried a dynasty league without the top players being kept. For example I'm thinking of starting a league with the top 100 players available every draft. Owners would be allowed to keep a majority of their roster but draft day would still be exciting every year. Thoughts?
It seems like the 2 most common answers are good owners and dynasty rules. I think the best draft party possible will attract the best owners. While dynasty rules seem awesome to me most commissioners say it's hard to attract new owners with dynasty rules. Is this true? Anyone want to fight for...
Do you think a 3 year dynasty league would be fun? You keep everyone for 3 years with rookie drafts and every 3 years blow it up and start over to keep things from getting stale.
