At some point there are so many picking the contrarians that they become mainstream plays. I’ve seen Thomas on soooo many rosters. Partly why I avoided him.
Agreed. Thomas probably won't return until week 7 and doesn't seem to actually want to even play for the Saints anymore. He's coming off a disappointing season and an injury that required surgery. Brees retired. He wants to be traded. He's one of my favorite WR, but I thought he presented one of the worst values in the entire list even at $13.

- I shied away from Lance seeing his ~50% completion rate in pre-season, but he'll clearly see SOME action, so....

- I had Elliott for the longest time.  Switched to Mixon for poor reasons (I don't want to root for Elliott to be successful).

- Thought about Bernard as James White 2.0 for Brady, but opted out because RBBC and aerial weapons.

- Not sold on Denver passing game, but if it happens this is a value pick.

- I see a lot of MVS rosters but got the impression he'll be odd man out with Adams/Lazard/Cobb/Tonyon

- If you're going to spend $40 on TE why not get Kelce (rhetorical, and I get your logic if Pitts goes ham)

- this nitpicking points aside I think your roster is groovy.

At QB

Darnold-$8

Fields-$7

Lance-$7

Garoppolo-$4

I hope Fields and Lance lead my QB crew but neither will start at beginning of year. Garoppolo is a know brainer will start till Lance does. Darnold I just wanted a QB with a late bye easy early schedule that was cheap.

At RB

Elliott-$27

J.Robinson-$16

T.Sermon-$15

G.Edwards-$11

S. Michel-$5

R. Stephenson-$3

I always like having a stud RB I'm a Cowboys fan so I like Zeke to bounce back. I thought he may be slightly under owned also. Robinson, Edwards, Michel, and Stephenson I took because like everyone else they are values now because of injury and trades. I wanted Sermon because I wanted a piece of the 49'ers run game.

At WR

Locket-$21

Jeudy-$16

Antonio Brown-$10

B. Edwards-$4

Big fan of what Ridley's work load should be. Have felt Locket was a value all draft season. Bought in to the Jeudy hype. Felt like A. Brown was a value in last year's heaviest passing offense. Callaway opportunity. Edwards opportunity also.

At TE

Kelce-$30

Pitts-$17

Wanted stud TE's only having 2 does make me nervous but if either got injured wouldn't matter who my 3rd was anyways.

3 kickers $10

3 Defenses $7

QB - Tom Brady - TB/9 - $17

WR - Jakobi Meyers - NE/14 - $6
WR - A.J. Green - ARI/12 - $5
WR - Amon-Ra St. Brown - DET/9 - $5
WR - Marquez Callaway - NO/6 - $5
WR - Bryan Edwards - LV/8 - $4

TE - Darren Waller - LV/8 - $27
TE - Kyle Pitts - ATL/6 - $17
TE - Cole Kmet - CHI/10 - $7

PK - Younghoe Koo - ATL/6 - $4
PK - Dustin Hopkins - WAS/9 - $3
PK - Evan McPherson - CIN/10 - $2

TD - Minnesota Vikings - MIN/7 - $3
TD - New York Jets - NYJ/6 - $2
TD - Tennessee Titans - TEN/13 - $2

Initial iterations included both CMC and Davante Adams but I couldn't get past having so much tied up in the week 13 bye. Will be relying on the RB's and TE's to provide the flex scores each week and hope to have my WR's provide serviceable scores.

Based off of the rosters that have been posted, CMC/Najee and Waller/Pitts combos will likely be unique. While Michel/Stevenson and Callway/Edwards combos will be on most rosters.

I like this roster a lot with the exception of Elliott. I avoided all Cowboys this season. But that's just personal preference. I also had Hill in every iteration except the last, switching to Metcalf. Which means I don't have any Chiefs either. I really like your WR group and picked 4 of the same guys. Went with Pitts as well to lead the TE group. It really comes down to QB. If Burrow can level up this year (I believe he will), then your roster looks pretty good.

What are the most common players everyone thinks will be rostered? Just looking in here I keep seeing:

Big Ben

J.Robinson

G.Edwards

S.Michel

R.Stevenson

M.Pittman

M.Calloway
I could not pass up Antonio Brown at $10, and I suspect many others fee the same.

I'm surprised at how many entries seem to have Zeke and Robinson as their top 2 RBs even though they share the same bye week.  Looks awful risky to me.

I never seem to do well in this thing so I completely changed strategy this year.

QB - Mahomes, Wilson

QB scores the most points in this format and a good weekly score seems like a must.  Wilson I think is a steal at 17.  Normally would got for 3 lower cost options, but that never seems to work for me.  Mahomes and Wilson might seem like overkill, but it should ensure I have a top score at the highest scoring position each week.

RB:  Antonio Gibson, Mike Davis, James Robinson, Ronald Jones, Gus Edwards, Wayne Gallman

With RB's I feel like unless you're going to spend up and grab 3 high priced ones, your WR's are probably going to count toward your flex more often.  With that in mind, I tried to grab a bunch that I was comfortable to give me 2 quality scores each week.  Robinson and Edwards I think are musts given their situations.  Gibson was my high priced guy that I think could jump to the next level if he takes on more a passing game role.  I think Atlanta transitions into more of a running team and Davis should get plenty of volume, added Gallman as a backup in case Davis isn't capable of handling that workload.  I think Jones is the back to own in TB, but with best ball format, he should post nice games from time to time that should count.

WR:  Lockett, Pittman, Tyrell Williams, Meyers, A.J. Green, Callaway, Edwards

Lockett to pair with Wilson for increased correlation.  Pittman, WIlliams, Meyers, Calaway and Edwards are all cheap players that should be their teams #1 WR this season.  Green sets up as a high volatile player that could be good in this format.  Overall strategy is to grab players that were cheap, potential #1's that should set a decent floor while still having ability to pop in any given week.

TE:  Kelce, Andrews

Two solid TE's here that should ensure I have a good TE score nearly every week, maybe even 2.  Kelce is a pair with Mahomes to increase correlation.  Andrews was a late minute sub as I didn't love my backup TE.

PK;  Carlson, McManus, McPHerson

3 cheap kickers on teams that typically aren't afraid to kick FG's instead of gambling on 4th down.

TD:  Denver, Green Bay and Dallas

3 cheap defenses that should give plenty of opportunity for Sacks.

Looks good, except I am not a fan of your QBs until Lance takes over.

Since there is no player lookup as of yet Im going to take a stab at Brady,  Gus,  and Callaway being the 3 highest drafted players.
I have Gus and Callaway.  I had Brady until the very end (didn't want my QB1 and RB1 with the same bye and I REALLY like Gibson this year.....so I changed to Rodgers.  I don't see the reason to pay an extra $5-$10 on a top 5 QB when Brady, R Wilson and Rodgers are all great values at $17.

Stevenson, J Robinson, Michel, C Davis, and Antonio Brown will also be heavily owned.

Since we don't have the contest querier yet, I searched this thread to see the number of hits for the names of some of the more commonly owned players:

40 "gus edwards"
39 "james robinson"
39 "marquez callaway"
33 "sony michel"
33 "rhamondre stevenson"
30 "bryan edwards"
28 "antonio brown"
22 "jakobi meyers"
22 "corey davis"
21 "evan mcpherson"
19 "michael pittman"
16 "marquez valdes"
16 "trey lance"
14 "ben roethlisberger"
13 "tom brady"
13 "justin fields"
12 "travis kelce"
12 "gerald everett"
9 "darren waller"

Probably a pretty good indicator which players are more common players in the contest.

It was the toughest move.  went from 5 RB to 6 RB (added Gio) and ultimately got rid of all my other week 7 bye players.  Hope my other 26 guys ball out.

Geez somebody on the Ravens grounds crew needs to take a look at the field. Do they practice on natural grass or turf? That's way too many ACL injuries to just be a coincidence.

I went TE heavy this year. My projections have them counting points most weeks. I did like Najee Harris and his upside but didn't want conflicting byes. Even with Chubb costing more than Harris, his projection was more than enough to make up the difference. I went back in forth with Jefferson or Thielen but wasn't going to have both. Thielen's projected point to value ratio was higher than Jefferson's but I could not get a team to produce as many points with him in it. Thielen and Higgins were basically interchangeable for me. I tried to get one more player on the roster with either Stevenson or Jakobi Meyers but some player combinations just didn't work out.

I decided that having a few stars on the team over hoping for five or six average players performing was well worth it. Yes there is risk of injuries, but I have plenty of competition for  starts between quality players. Not swinging for a single here.

For QBs had to go with Wilson over Rodgers and Brady. I don't want a top scoring player on a late season bye week.  Hopefully he duplicates the free for all from the 1st half of last year. Fields will probably be getting playing time after week three at the latest.

QB - Russell Wilson - SEA/9 - $17
QB - Justin Herbert - LAC/7 - $16
QB - Justin Fields - CHI/10 - $7

Between Chubb and Harris, Harris more upside to explode. Chubb will get his and no bye conflicts with other RBs with a very high point projection vs. cost. Basically change player names into projection numbers and values and you have my thoughts.
RB - Nick Chubb - CLE/13 - $26
RB - David Montgomery - CHI/10 - $22
RB - James Robinson - JAX/7 - $16
RB - Gus Edwards - BAL/8 - $11

Would've liked to have three receivers with 200+ point projections but had to let the three of mine fight for a start each week. Pittman and Callaway for upside.
WR - Justin Jefferson - MIN/7 - $25
WR - Tee Higgins - CIN/10 - $18
WR - Michael Pittman - IND/14 - $9
WR - Marquez Callaway - NO/6 - $5
WR - M Valdes-Scantling - GB/13 - $3

1 1/2 PPR. OK.
TE - Darren Waller - LV/8 - $27
TE - T.J. Hockenson - DET/9 - $19
TE - Kyle Pitts - ATL/6 - $17

Three kickers in case one gets the boot.
PK - Jake Elliott - PHI/14 - $3
PK - Greg Joseph - MIN/7 - $3
PK - Evan McPherson - CIN/10 - $2

Only two here but teams don't get cut like kickers do. ;)

Hopefully no covid cancellations.
TD - Green Bay Packers - GB/13 - $2
TD - Dallas Cowboys - DAL/7 - $2

I actually picked my players based on a very scientific approach. First of all I like the names Justin and Marquez. Does anyone else have three Justins and 2 Marquez's on their roster? I didn't think so.

I also went for single syllable names. I have 20 players but also have 12 single syllable names/words on the roster. Fields, Nick, Chubb (bonus), James, Gus, Tee, Kyle, Pitts (double bonus), Jake, Greg, Green and Bay. Nick Chubb single syllable, Najee Harris not single syllable.

Yup, I'm on the Gusless list 😕

QB - Tom Brady - 17
QB - Jameis Winston - 10
QB - Justin Fields - 7

RB - Aaron Jones - 30
RB - Najee Harris - 25
RB - James Robinson - 16
RB - Raheem Mostert - 14
RB - Gus Edwards - 11 💨
RB - A.J. Dillon - 11

WR - Calvin Ridley - 27
WR - Diontae Johnson - 18
WR - Corey Davis - 10
WR - Mecole Hardman - 10
WR - Michael Pittman - 9
WR - Marquez Callaway - 5

TE - Robert Tonyan - 13
TE - Zach Ertz - 7

PK - Nick Folk - 3
PK - Brandon McManus - 3

TD - Philadelphia Eagles - 2
TD - Tennessee Titans - 2

overall i think it's very good.

QB - honestly don't love it. im fine with burrow but i can see a scenario where fitzmagic is benched and trey isn't starting yet. i would just prefer safer guys here.

RB - love it but would like to have found the extra $3 for rhomandre given damien harris on the roster.

WR - love it. the callaway/edwards/mvs value trio should be on everyone's rooster. take djax's $3 and move it to rhomandre during the premium membership post week 1 switch period for sure.

TE - love it.

K - i did pretty much the same thing

DST - fine. id prefer 3 but if you have nowhere to spend the extra deuce then i get it.

i feel like if 2 of your top 4 most expensive players are pitts and ridley you should have probably found the $11 for matty ice somewhere.

Taking a couple risks this year, very heavy on Seahawks, and a little bit stars and scrubs given some of the values I was seeing at the lower price points.   See how it goes!
