-Miami seems to have the skill position players to explode on any given Sunday...you want to maximize their chances of winning, they need a strong dominant OL
That's going to require more resources than what they currently have
Barry is doing a pretty good job of convincing me that good center prospects are available in Round 2. Miami just reached out to another DE about a FA contract so maybe they are moving away from Edge as a draft need. Who knows (it may be smoke for all we know).
Bottom Line is we are not going to be able to upgrade QB to better than Tua. The extension will be what it will be (and it still has not happened is to me telling). Finally, when has a Ravens D been built from the DT spot? Seems like Ravens Defenses are built from the edge/LB positions.
JPJ and Zack Frazier are both graded out in the 1st round, Frazier could slide into the 2nd but Miami would either need to trade down from 21 or up from 55
Ravens have had some sick DTs, not always the guys they draft but they are usually strong up the middle.
Siragusa back in the day but I agree with you that in the modern NFL you want good Edge/OLB and playmakers in the secondary.
I do feel Miami if healthy across the board will be strong in the Secondary, Edge/OLB, DEs, they are going to be short for a while at that spot.
I don't care for most of the Edge prospects in the 1st, one of the reasons I highlighted Payton Wilson, he might be projected as an ILB but he can play both, Miami isn't there in the front 7.
Wilson with the 1st pick and Kris Jenkins at DT in the 2nd would go a long way to rebuilding the defense but they still will need more.
MIami could also spend some of their resources on OL, if they are going to draft an IOL, might as well get the best in JPJ
I'm not that high on Frasier and after that you have Van Pran from Georgia, he's a better value IMHO and is discounted in the draft due to some injuries he has had to overcome in college
All signs point to him being fully recovered, if Miami could create a 3rd round pick this year, they might be able to get him.
-Miami drafted Cam Smith at #50 overall last year, and I'd love to see Cooper DeJean in a Miami uniform but there really isn't an open spot at the moment.
One of the things that will further hinder Smith's growth is just the fact he won't see the field much, Year 2 and his snap count will be low again IMO
The Dolphins have some immediate needs in their Front 6-7, other than Sieler we have a lot of open spots. The guys we signed at LB are not really upgrades over Baker, perhaps worse.
