Baseball Wagering (2 Viewers)

Okay......I see something I like tonight

Cin/Hou o 9.5

Buchholz is awful, dude's a sieve out there. He has an ERA over 5.50 with over 100 IP. This is a trend, he gets bombed, he is a minor league pitcher.

Elizardo Ramirez is not what I'd consider a World beater here either. His ERA is nearly 4.50. Thing is, Houston needs this game BAD. If they lose tonight, they'll be like 8 games out of the friggin wild card and it's just about August. This line should be closer to 10.5, but the reason it's not a SCREAMING play is frankly both offenses are pretty bad right now. I have a feeling both teams are going to score runs tonight though. Cincy, simply because they have a BP pitcher facing them, and Houston, because they need to win.

I'm also on Baltimore tonight, so I'm sorry in advance to anyone who played this one.

g'luck

I'll play this one with you.And I'm on Baltimore too. Sorry guys.

I didn't back down. The guy didn't even want to use a valid sportsbook. I would have been up for it if we would have used a name sportsbook. Pinny, Bet Jamaica, Matchbook. Anything.

Come on, I know you like to bash me and I really don't mind, but I didn't back down. And it wasn't Guru.

Who was it? And yes, you backed out/down whatever, I remember...on a technicality.

Gamejockey was the challenger. I'd rather not talk about the whole issue, it went down months ago, why even bring it back up? I wanted to use a professional sportsbook and he kept on insisting we use his. I said no. If that's "backing down" then yes I backed down.

I don't think anyone blames you for that . Using his own book??? WTF?
There was more to it than that. Guess I'll have to go get my shovel... :drive:
Found it... damn, man, relax... Where did that dude go? I didn't see him in the thread after page 30-ish (well, I didn't really look that hard)...

Oh well, it's none of my business. I'm on vacation! :banned:
:D Where are you?

LOL, in San Fran working. I just meant I am on vacation from capping games. Preparing for Football season!

To clear this up once and for all. He wanted to use a "fantasy" sportsbook. You make your own lines, take bets, etc. I don't know the extent of it. He was dead set on using this "book" or he wasn't going to go through with it. I wanted a sportsbook that you can wager real money in. I don't think I was in the wrong, but that's not the view of the majority here. Onward and upward.

All bad teams are usually perceived as worse than their true mean.

At the end of the year people will point to the winner and say, they were GREAT when in reality they were great combined with some luck. They will point to the bad teams and say they are horrible, not so horrible but certainly bad, but with some BAD luck.
WTF???? :help: :whoosh:
That's what I said a few months ago. This is a quote from the BEST baseball capper I've ever seen. Seriously and you know how much time I'm on the net. He was up over 65 units at the All-Star break. He's a pro and hasn't missed a day of baseball betting in 3 years. I have been talking with him throughout the year trying to pick his brain and this was the argument I was stuck on. I thought bad teams always lost money at the end of the year. Go check Covers.com and look at the last few years. The worst teams (record wise) always lost money. I'm off to the Phillies game. I'm sure we can discuss this at a later time if you wish. I know nobody here wants to here my view anyway.
 I read in the paper today that it is the 26th of July! I'm done... enough :pokey: I'm off for some more poker...

ETA: Have fun at the game! :banned:
I'm assuming the July 26th date was to the capper who made 65 units before the break. He doesn't like to keep his records public, but he said a few days ago that he's at a post all-star game high, so likely up near 75 units to so. He's no one year wonder; he's made 6 figures betting baseball the past 3 years. He knows his stuff. You do too, I'm not doubting you at all. God knows how many years you have been doing this. I'm trying to copy what he does and make bets like he does. He made 27 wagers yesterday, you may have made a couple. As long as you both make money, no one way is deemed the "best." That's what makes this fun.

Good luck Charv.
actually I take back what I said earlier... something way down in my subconcious told me that this didn't compute... I have searched the web for info, and he is widely regarded as being full of #### and not keeping a truthful record...Just do a google search... :bye:

You don't make your own lines. And yea, this is funny this is coming up again. It's been a while since I've been in the FBG. To clear my side up. They are authentic lines, from Don Best, same as Pinny. SAME EXACT LINES. Only thing fantasy about is it deals in points, not cash. So a perfect arena for you to get trounced in. Sorry it never went down, but feel free to go back and look at the record. Units continue to grow, as does my bank account slowly but surely.

Key line my friend... Anyway, I still don't blame you for backing down, but it was pretty dumb to challenge him in the first place IMHO. Nobody is saying that you can't be a GREAT capper. You are already way ahead of where most of us were at the same age. I think the issue is that you believe you are gods gift to capping and that you feel the need to "preach" the truth to people less informed (at least that's what it looks like). Just relax some. I know you read everything you can, and ask tons of questions, all to get better. Just lay off the "preaching" and we'll all get along better...

Yeah, I checked the site out after learning about this, just because I'm bored and a nosy ######### that had to know what was going on after reading about it today. It seems legit enough for me. You guys have different styles though, so a contest would probably not work...

I wish I had more of the site done. But it's baby steps. More sports, leagues, parlays to come, but I don't have the manpower to do it right now and I'm too busy creating it and running a team to deal with Marshall here. But it is nice to be back slangin again in the FBG, but I guess it's just that time of year.

You said that the book is not for you. Why not? You don't take totals, five innings, ml, rl? I guess I just don't understand why it's not for you.

I guess we could make it real money, but then I would probably be in hiding with Calvin Ayre and the other costa rican ceo's

Ahh... well, I don't have any interest in just posting plays for entertainment purposes or to "compete" with a bunch of other guys for bragging rights. I don't mean that in a bad way, I just don't care for it personally. I don't care much about posting picks anymore either after some debacle seen here a couple of years ago and on other boards recently. I did have a running thing going on Damon's site last hockey season, but that was more to help him get some traffic. Let's just say that between posting there, and at CAP, things went down that I didn't care for.My only concern is what my own bankroll looks like and that's pretty much it. :banned:

Absolutely, but you can't knock a guy for trying to pioneer some chit.

bottoms up! I'm out. :banned:
I totally agree! I wish you all the best, and I think there's a market for it too if you can get the site big enough... just look at the traffic wagerline gets.Good luck!
