Best fantasy team you remember (1 Viewer)

I looked at the roster of my opponent in our championship game and it really caught my eye. He has:

Rivers

Ryan

Mendenhall

MJD

McFadden

Hillis

Jacobs

White

Jennings

Bowe

V-Jax

Akers

Chargers

It just jumped out at me as the best team, top to bottom, I've seen

The toughest part of having this team would be who to start each week (1QB 2RB 2WR 1flex 1K 1D)

In one of my yahoo leagues, I have one of the best I have ever had in 20 years

QB: Michael Vick (picked up after he was dropped for Romo, 3rd rd)

RB: Chris Johnson (1st rd)

RB: Arian Foster (5th rd)

WR: Calvin Johnson (2nd rd)

WR: Hakim Nicks (picked up when he was dropped)

WR: Vincent Jackson (picked up late in season)

TE: Jacob Tamme (picked up when Clark got hurt)

PK: Matt Bryant (picked up early in season)

DEF: Pittsburgh (8th rd)

RB: Ryan Torain (picked up late in season)

RB: Chris Ivory (picked up mid season)

RB: Pierre Thomas (picked up late season)

WR: Brandon Lloyd (picked up early in season)

WR: Pierre Garcon (picked up early in season)

TE: Antonio Gates (4th rd)

I am up 130 points in a total points league.

Someone dropped Nicks? Uh...

In 2007 a buddy of mine had in a 10 team keeper.

Qb: Brady

RB1: Westbrook

RB2: Peterson

RB3: Portis

WR1: R. Moss

WR2: McDonald

WR3: Chambers

TE: Cooley

K: Dawson

D: Tenn

He ended up losing in the semis when Brady and Moss had that awful game in the wind but he was dropping 200 spots on everyone all season long.

My team this year.

Peyton Manning

Big Ben

MJD

Charles

Blount

Calvin Johnson

Nicks

Owens

Miles

Vincent Jackson

Finley-hurt

Zach Miller

Kaeding

Lost first round of the playoffs.

Playing this team in my dynasty league this week for the championship -

QB: Rodgers

RB: ADP, MJD, L. McCoy

WR: Wayne, VJax, Roddy

TE: Olson

He also has Bush, Miles Austin, DJax, Ford among others on his bench right now.

I have Vick, Foster, Law Firm, Steve Johnson, Anthony Armstrong, Kevin Walters and Burleson starting for me. Somehow this year I managed to finish first overall in record and points with my opening day roster of:

Orton

Foster, Caddy, Portis

Cotchery, Floyd, BMW, and Nannee/McCluster

I have no idea how I got to this point.

(We do have IDP's, and I have done well there, but I dont feel like listing them)

This year's #1 team in our league, who lost in the first round of the playoffs:

QB- Vick, Orton

RB- Lesean McCoy, Daren McFadden,

WR- Dwayne Bowe, Roddie White, Mike Wallace, Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie

TE- Vernon Davis

To recap, that's:

QB1

RB4, RB5

WR3, WR4, WR8, WR11, WR23 (would be higher if Collie hadn't gotten hurt)

TE4

Talk about freaking stacked. And he lost last weekend

My 2009 Championship Team, put up 265 one week:

Matt Schaub

Chris Johnson, Frank Gore, Jamaal Charles

Miles Austin, Anquan Boldin

Dallas Clark

Robbie Gould

Eagles D

Carson Palmer

Jerome Harrison, Felix Jones, LenDale White

Dwayne Bowe, Santonio Holmes

Jermichael Finley

I liked my team in Steve's MOX leagues (TE's get 2 PPR and are eligible to be started in place of WR's). Here is/was my starting lineup this year

Peyton Manning

Chris Johnson

Ray Rice

Jonathan Stewart (bench)

Randy Moss

Antonio Gates

Vernon Davis

Jermichael Finley

Mike Sims-Walker (bench)

My team struggled to make playoffs, received the last seed, and was eliminated round 1. :ptts:

My 2005 Office League PPR Squad (12T) went undefeated outscoring all other teams by about 20%

QB- Hass (QB5) - not a great start

RB - LT2 (RB1) - In his heyday

RB - LJ (RB2) - The year the Chiefs made the switch. Grabbed him several rounds after Priest.

WR - Ochocinco (WR3) - 1400/9.... ah back in the day

WR - T Holt (WR4) - Remember when holt was a lock for 100/1200?

TE - Heap (TE2)

On the bench: SJax (RB6)

can I play in your league?

I put together a star studded dynasty team but injuries and WR's with garbage QB's are putting a strain on my championship game this weekend:

Rodgers

AD

Rice

Bradshaw

Benson

AJ

Fitz

Nicks

Smith (Car)

Gates

Winslow

This team put up 240.9 points last week in a non-ppr, broke season record by 70pts and eliminated the undefeated 14-0 leader in points :goodposting:

QB: Vick - 49.1 (picked up early season)

WR: Calvin: 16.2 (2nd round)

WR: MWTB 15.6 (10th round)

RB: Rice: 36.3 (1st round)

RB: Charles: 22.3 (3rd round)

R/W: VJax 30.2 (picked up mid season)

TE: Witten: 20 (7th round)

PK: Buehler: 16 (waivers)

DEF: Chicago: 25 (11th round)

I was just thinking about this last night. I really think the team I have this year (esp my starters) is my best, and possibly the best team my 10-team redraft league, has seen in years. Most of the team has been made via trades with the exception of Foster and Nicks.

Brees

Foster

MDJ

Turner

Ivory

Jennings

Nicks

Marshall

VJax

V. Davis

I've seen two great ones

The guy who dominated the league this year with Vick, Foster, Peterson, Blount (in the flex), Roddy White, Vernon Davis, and Brandon Lloyd.

He just lost in the semis because he had AP and Webb (at WR) going Monday, and another playoff team snagged Gerhart Monday afternoon.

Other one was one of mine in LT's record year. Had LT, Gates, and Colston playing in the flex. By far the highest scoring team in the league and I missed the playoffs (I won the league the year after with a middle of the pack team, such is life)

In my league having the best regular season team is usually a kiss of death.

I don't remember the exact team but I remember years ago when I first started to play in 2001 I had Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk (in their prime), Priest Holmes and 2 elite WR's.... destroyed everyone that year and went undefeated.

right before week 1, i traded nicks and foster to get marshall.. oops

team made through 15+ trades over 2 seasons. the guy im playing in the championship finished last in 2009 and picked up vick on the wire

2006

Drew Brees (NO - QB)

Mark Brunell (NYJ - QB)

LaDainian Tomlinson (NYJ - RB)

Steven Jackson (StL - RB)

Maurice Jones-Drew (Jac - RB)

Antonio Bryant (Cin - WR)

Drew Bennett (Bal - WR)

Mark Clayton (StL - WR)

T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Bal - WR)

Steve Smith (Car - WR)

Amani Toomer (KC - WR)

Ernest Wilford (Jac - WR)

Randy McMichael (SD - TE)

Nate Kaeding (SD - K)

Chicago (Chi - DEF)

New England (NE - DEF)

Old School here but 1998:

QB Steve Young 36 TDs + 6 rushing

RB Fred Taylor (rookie year)17 TD's

RB Corey Dillon 10 TD's

WR Jerry Rice 9 or 10 TD's

WR Randy Moss (rookie year ) something like 17 TDs

TE Didn't matter

D Seattle (3 shutouts, 11 defensive TDs)

destroyed the league that year and records have yet to be broken.

One year I drafted Priest Holmes (29 TDs) in the 1st round and Ahman Green (20 TDs) in the 2nd round. I also had Chad Johnson & Joe Horn. My team was unstoppable

This year's team in a 12 team dynasty league with players who have played together for 16 years (3rd year in dynasty format):

Brees (Ben)

AP, Foster (T.Jones/R.Brown)

Roddy, Calvin, Austin (Harvin, James Jones, Ford, Meachem, S.Smith carolina, Armstrong)

Tamme (Gonzo, Finley)

Hartley

Cleveland

Went out in the first round of the playoffs with a team that will quite possibly break the record for all time scoring in the league. Fortunately, I get another shot with the same roster next year!

I joined a free but quite competitive keeper league this year (my second year). The commissioner's team is pretty stacked (kept Peyton, ADP, SJax, Andre, and Maclin). He scored the most points (2400 points: 60 more than me the 2nd highest, 7000 more than the lowest scorer). Average of 184 PPG. #2 seed at 10-3 behind me. He lost last week by 4 points in a high scoring league when he started ADP:

QB: Peyton, Bradford

RB: Foster, ADP, SJax, DMC, Jacobs. Yeah.

WR: Andre, Maclin, Gibson, Driver.

TE: Olson, Gresham

D: Chicago

My team was an overachiever. #1 seed, 11-2 (8-0 start), 180 PPG. Turned Kolb, Mathews, Winslow, Gore, and Vernon into Schaub, Colston, Forte, Gates, and Roddy:

QB: Schaub

RB: Forte, Mendenhall, Moreno (all year, that's what I had at RB)

WR: Roddy, Jennings, Colston, Collie, Meachem, James Jones

TE: Gates, Boss (replaced Gates)

K: Akers

D: Mix of Dallas, Atlanta, Arizona, Houston

My 12 team dynasty league roster, playing for first consecutive league championships this week:

QB: Vick (QB1), Rodgers (QB3)

RB: ADP (RB4) DMac (RB5)

WR: Calvin (WR2), Andre (WR3), Bowe (WR5), Nicks (WR8), Harvin (WR12)

TE: Gates (TE2)

PK: Kaeding (whatever)

DT: Steelers (DT1)

Each week is a nail-biter trying to figure out who to start. In an attempt to make decisions easier on myself I actually traded away the following players over the course of the season: P.Manning, P.Rivers, A.Foster, MJD, M.Williams (TBB), M.Colston, J.Witten

Not that anyone in my league will listen when I complain how difficult it is to choose my starters.

I have:

Vick

Schaub

Chris Johnson

Jamaal Charles

RunDMC

Felix Jones

Desean Jackson

B. Marshall

Fitz

VJax

A. Hernandez

Heap

Bryant

Chargers

I've got 2 personal favorites:

2010 team, starts 1-QB, 2-RB, 3-WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX(RB-WR-TE) picked 7th. If not the best team, at least the best draft.

QB: Vick(14th,as a handcuff for Kolb in the 7th), Big Ben(9th)

RB: Foster(5th), McFadden(11th), Charles(4th), Bradshaw(8th)

WR: AJ(1st), Calvin(2nd), D-Jax(3rd), Britt(13th), Wallace(10th), Harvin(6th)

TE: Tamme(waivers), Daniels(12th)

K: Janikowski(waivers)

D: Bears(15th), Falcons(waivers)

2005, 1-2-2-1 picked 6th

QB: Palmer, Big Ben

RB: LJ, Edge, Portis, Caddy

WR: Harrison, S.Moss, Burress, Kennison

TE: Gates, Cooley

7 or 8 years ago: 12 team start two QB league (6 TD for all)

Daunte Culpepper (4th)

Payton Manning (1rst)

LT (5th) nobody really knew who he was at this point

Deuce Mcallister (6th) nobody really knew who he was at this point

Jamal Lewis (3rd)

Marvin Harrions (2nd) (143 rec this year)

Eric Moulds (7th)

Shockey (13th)

I won every game by 25+ points...First and last undefeated team in the league.

In 2007 I had

D-Anderson (29 TD's) Waivers

Tomlins (#1 RB) 1st overall pick

Peterson (Top 5 RB) 6th round

R-Moss (23 TD's #1 WR) 4th round

Owens (top 5 WR) 2nd round

R-Williams (was great that year) 3rd round

H-Ward (had a good year) 5th round

Won the regular season by 300 pts...lost in the championship game.

Another team I had in 2007 that won the regular season but lost the title game by less than 1/2 point.

Brady (50 TD's) 4th round

J-Lewis (stud season in Cle) 6th round

R-Grant (awesome season) waivers

R-Moss (23 TD's) 5th round

Welker (100+ catches) 11th round

Chad Johnson 2nd round

Shockey 8th round

Brees at the flex spot (may have been the #2 QB) 3rd round

Alexander was my 1st round pick he sucked that year

My 2008 team won the championship, led wire to wire in total points, and finished 15-1 including the playoffs.

Core of the team was:

Steven Jackson

MJD

Andre Johnson

Turner

Boldin

Chris Johnson

Traded Turner for Manning right before Peyton went off on his streak. Also seemed to pick up the right players and make the right starts almost every week. Most dominant season I've seen in my 13 years of playing FF.

I lost in the wild card round 2 weeks ago with this dynasty team:

Schaub

Big Ben

Flacco

Charles

Bradshaw

Stewart

Deangelo

Felix

Best

VJackson

AJohnson

Jennings

RWhite

Bowe

Flacco

Mcfadden

MJD

Felix

DBrown

Austin

You guys will be happy to know however that my other two dynasty teams with similar rosters are both in the championship game this week. :D

It is easlier to have a stacked team in dynasty leagues though.

2002. 16 team redraft

QB Vick. in his first year as starter.

QB plummer. only started him twice. he was huge both times

RB Portis. his huge rookie year

RB fred taylor. he wasn't hurt all year and was solid but not spectacular

WR T. Owens (100/1300/14)

WR D. Driver 1st year as starter 70/1050/9. picked in almost the last round.

WR J. Porter 9TD. early season FA

WR K. Robinson 78/1250/5

WR K. Mccardell 6 TD

i swapped out my WR3 each week, and never seemed to make a mistake.

went 14-2, winning my last 9. scored 20% more points than the #2 team.

My $200 ppr redraft team is really deep and solid. 10 Team league, QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, RB/WR

QB

Everyone thought this team was a shoe in:

Peyton Manning - 23.50

Wes Wekler - 7.2

Arian Foster - 12.10

Peyton Hillis - 10.20

Hakeem Nicks - 18.30

Maurice Jones Drew - 8.80

David Akers - 8.00

San Diego - 10.00

But he lost in round one to:

Joe Flacco - 20.80

Calvin Johnson - 25.20

LaGarrette Blount - 17.00

Ricky Williams - 10.30

Santonio Holmes - 10.00

Reggie Wayne - 8.40

Neil Rackers - 5.00

Carolina - 8.00

It was quite the upset.

Two weeks ago my buddy was proclaiming his team the best in the history of our league (and it was the highest scoring).

Rodgers (#1 QB in scoring)

Peterson (#4)

Foster (#1)

Felix Jones

Ryan Matthews

Lloyd (#4)

Bowe (#1)

Colston (#12)

Sydney Rice

Akers (#1)

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2WR, 1 Flex

Had his week 1 bye (and lost his bonus game), then put up his low score of the year to wash out last week.

2005 in a start 2 QB league:

Starting Lineup:

Kerry Collins

Matt Hassleback

Shaun Alexander

Mike Anderson

Lamont Jordan

Marvin Harrison

Terry Glenn

Lee Evans

Todd Heap

Matt Stover

This was the year that Shaun Alexander absolutly went off averaging more than 23 points a week. He scored more than 100 total points than anyone else that year.

2006 Keeper League - 12 teams - i scored 2700 points for the season, 800 more than the second highest scoring team. Insane.

QB - Vick, Romo

RB - LT, LJ, SJax, Maroney, Turner, DeAngelo Williams

WR - Harrison, Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, Antonio Bryant, Greg Jennings

TE - Antonio Gates

That was the best team I've ever seen, or can ever imagine seeing. Everything came together for me that year, I had drafted LJ and SJax the year before as backups, LT blew up, Vick and Romo were both great, my WR's were all studs. Crazy season.

My keeper right now...

Peyton Manning

AP

Frank Gore

PT Cruiser (I have medical emergencies)

Hakeem Nicks

DeSean Jackson

Vincent Jackson

Kenny Britt

Gates/Tamme

yeah im playing for the cash this weekend.

ETA - Big Ben is my backup QB.

Best I remember vaguely was the team I had with Curtis Martin as a rookie, paired up with Emmitt Smith at RB, crushed everyone, finished regular season at 12-2, then lost to Marshall Faulk in the SB when he had some monster 3 or 4 TD game with piles of rushing and receiving yards..

I'm a little worried that this year I went 12-2, and I'm in the finals against the guy with Vick, who I worry will do the same thing Faulk did back then. Regardless I'm pretty proud of putting this team together in a 12 team auction:

Ryan

Freeman

Addai

Rice

McCoy

Bradshaw

Jacobs (traded A. Foster early in the year for R. White and Jacobs)

R. White

H. Nicks

T. Owens

S. Johnson

J. Tamme

B. Watson

N. Kaeding

NY Giants D

Here are 2 teams of mine right now that are both currently out of the playoffs:

QB: Rodgers/Sanchez

RB: AP/Charles/Mendenhall/Hillis/Stewart/Torain/Goodson

WR: DeSean/Marshall/Jennings/Rice/BMW/Benn

TE: Gates/Z. Miller/Gresham/Gronkowski

QB: Vick/Romo/Orton

RB: AP/Rice/Felix/Beanie/Hightower

WR: Fitz/Austin/Lloyd/MSW/Knox/Burleson/Amendola

TE: Finley/Tamme/Watson/Graham/Shiancoe

D/ST: Pitt

Oops.

My bro's team in the dynasty league I run. I hate him.

Roflsburger

Bradford

McCoy

Cassel

Chris Johnson

Ray Rice

Hightower

McGahee

Beanie Wells

Miles Austin

Larry Fitz

Calvin Johnson

Vincent Jackson

Johnny Knox

Sooo jealous. *******.

The first year I ever heard of fantasy football was in 1999 and I signed up for a free Yahoo league.

Autodrafting gave me Trent Green.

After he got hurt in the preseason game I did what seemed logical and picked up his backup.

Kurt Warner led me to the championship and a title and I have been hooked ever since. As if it was meant to be.

That same year I found Footballguys, which was free at the time.

Visiting Footballguys.com daily and heeding their advice I ended up compiling the greatest fantasy football team ever.

This year

Rivers - QB 4

McCoy - RB 3

Rice - RB 4

White - WR 1

Johnson - WR 2

Davis - TE 4

Timmons - LB 5

Greenway - LB 7

Allen - DL 4

Osi - DL 6

Thomas - CB 1

Tillman - CB 13

Of course, the league itself lends itself to getting a good team with patience. No bench, so you can either carry the bye player or you have to drop him.

I was only 8-6 this year, despite having the highest scoring team by about 200 points. 1-2 weeks carrying bye players does that to you.

My dynasty team is pretty stacked (5th year of the league):

QB - start 1

Vick

Ryan

Orton

Freeman

Bradford

RB - start 2-3

AP

Foster

Turner

Moreno

Lance Ball

Tyrell Sutton

WR - start 3-4

Fitz

Nicks

Jennings

Boldin

Rice

Marshall

Harvin

Lloyd

Ford

Obomano

TE - start 1

Gates

Jimmy Graham

Dreessen

K - start 1

Carpenter

DL - start 2-4

Jared Allen

Trent Cole

Vanden Bosch

LB - start 2-4

Willis

Fletcher

Briggs

Ryans

Dhani Jones

DB - start 2-4

Rhodes

Chung

Richard Marshall

Won the championship last season, in it again this season. Outscored the second highest scoring team in the regular season by ~300 points. Definitely the best team I've seen...

Ive been in the championship game all 3 years of my current main leagues existence, but I think this is my best of the bunch starters wise (my bench is pretty bad). Id personally give myself more credit as well with how strong this team is despite having picked 4 HUGE busts in the first 10 rounds - CAR Steve Smith (3rd), Spiller (5th), Portis (7th), Berrian (10th) - and turning Owens (IR), Santonio, Heath Miller into Roddy White.

QB Vick (QB1)

RB Arian (RB1)

RB S-Jax (RB13)

WR White (WR2)

WR Andre (WR6)

RB/WR TB Mike Williams (WR18)

RB/WR Joe Webb

TE Pettigrew

K Graham

D Tulloch (LB7, LB3 in PPG)

DB Dahl (Had Laron Landry who was DB1 til he got hurt)

LB Posluszny (LB15, LB4 in PPG)

Bench:

Eli (QB9)

Kitna

Rashad Jennings

Westbrook

Derrick Ward

Burleson

CAR Steve Smith

Lofton (LB16)

...Historically, my team in 2001 I always think of as my best team, I think mostly because of going WR/WR in the 1st 2 rounds when Stud RB theory was in its prime, grabbing LT his rookie year when he was on nobodys radar, and David Boston having the most monstrous 1 year wonder year I can remember (98rec, 1598yards, 8TDs)

QB Brooks (QB8)

RB LT (RB7)

RB Anthony Thomas (RB13)

WR Owens (WR2)

WR Randy Moss (WR3)

WR David Boston (WR5)

TE Gonzalez (TE1)

1999--- My Best Ever

K Warner

M. Faulk

S. Davis

E. George

M. Harrison

I. Bruce

C. Carter

J. Smith

W. Walls

(Start 4 WR or TE)

J. Elam

Tampa D

Andre's Fists of Fury

QB Aaron Rodgers (GB - QB)

WR Reggie Wayne (Ind - WR)

WR Vincent Jackson (SD - WR)

RB Ray Rice (Bal - RB)

RB Chris Johnson (Ten - RB)

TE Jacob Tamme (Ind - TE)

W/R Jamaal Charles(KC - RB)

K Shaun Suisham (Pit - K)

DEF San Diego (SD - DEF)

WR Andre Johnson (Hou - WR)

WR Joe Webb (Min - QB,WR)

WR Hakeem Nicks (NYG - WR)

RB Rashad Jennings (Jac - RB)

RB Peyton Hillis (Cle - RB)

TE Antonio Gates (SD - TE)
