"Police: Texas man had crossbow, tomahawk to kill ex's husband in Australia"

Jeffery Hooten, 49, was arrested in South Wales, Australia in July 2014 in connection to an incident where he is accused of attacking his ex-wife's current husband with a crossbow and a tomahawk. Police said Hooten fired a bolt from his crossbow at the current husband, Greg Williams, who blocked the bolt with his laptop. Hooten was also accused of charging at Williams with a tomahawk, striking him in the head.

Alexis Pickles, 38, was arrested Feb. 15, 2017, for assault on a public servant after he allegedly exposed himself at an Austin McDonald's.

A 38-year-old man was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting a police officer after exposing himself at a McDonald’s in north Austin, according to court documents.

Alexis Pickles was charged with a third-degree felony assault on a public servant. Other charges may be pending in the case.

Pickles allegedly was walking around the McDonald’s in the 7900 block of Burnet Road in Austin Wednesday, Feb. 15 with his pants around his ankles, exposing his genitals. He then exited the restaurant and approached a nearby bus stop.

Police arrived at the scene and confronted Pickles, who still had his pants around his ankles, according to the arrest affidavit.

The officer tried to take Pickles in custody, but Pickles resisted and ultimately elbowed the officer below the nose twice, the arrest affidavit states.

The suspect then fled the scene and the officer tried to use his Taser on the suspect multiple times, but could not effectively do so due to the amount of clothing the suspect was wearing, the affidavit said.

The officer used pepper spray on the suspect, who continued to flee from the officer. The suspect later slipped in a mud puddle and the officer was able to detain him with the help of another officer, according to the affidavit.

Pickles continued to resist arrest during his detainment, police said.

The officer had blood coming from his mouth and a front tooth was loose from being elbowed in the face, the affidavit states.

If convicted, Pickles could face up to 10 years in prison for the assault charge.
