***Official 2020 Election General*** (1 Viewer)

I mean, I agree with everyone that Trump was a tool when he was talking about the election being officially over on November 3.  We all know that that isn't how this works, or it's supposed to work.

But at the same time, what is it with states being unable and/or unwilling to count their votes in a timely manner?  (Looking at you, Nevada).

Also I don’t know how other States work but in Michigan at least, there are legally required to be an equal number of reps from each party at every poll location to ensure there isn’t any chicanery.
Las Vegas is built on chicanery.

Seems to be all quiet on the Russia-front...wonder why they decided to sit this one out.
They didn’t. US officials announced that our intelligence agencies showed Iran and Russia are once again trying to influence the election. As far as know, it’s done via internet propaganda, not actually manipulating voting machines or ballots.

Read something this morning about a counter-cyberattack on Iran that derailed their attempt to screw with the election.

Is Arizona still in play or just a state that conservatives are throwing a hail mary at?
My theory:  Trump campaign contracted with a data analytics company who said they were going to win easily.   Instead, Trump couldn't resist repeatedly insulting McCain and Mexicans and lost the biggest county in Arizona as a result.   Analytics company is now saying, "don't sweat it--you're going to get 65% of the last 14% of the vote."

I hate being that guy, but copied and pated from 538:

The Arizona Republic surveyed county recorders and estimates that 600,000 ballots remain to be counted in Arizona. A full 450,000 of those ballots are in Maricopa County (Phoenix) and break down as follows: 248,000 early ballots (which in Arizona includes both mail-in and in-person votes) that arrived on Monday or Tuesday, 160,000-180,000 mail-in ballots dropped off on Election Day and 29,000 provisional ballots. Maricopa expects to release two batches of results tonight: one at 9 p.m. Eastern and one sometime after 12:30 a.m. Eastern.

Twitter full of fake story about AZ election officials handing out sharpies to Trump voters claiming that the machines can only read ball point.   Secretary of State had to make a statement that sharpies work just fine.

Sounds like they're really confident about that "he'll get 65% of the remaining 14% of the vote even though he got 46% of the first 86% of the vote."
How would one even go about designing a machine that can detect a darkened mark made by a ball-point pen but not a darkened mark made by a sharpie? That seems like it would be really complicated and expensive.

So the current stance of the President is we must immediately stop counting votes in Michigan but we absolutely must continue counting votes in Arizona. Seems like he will have a very hard time making a legal argument with this.

Wednesday is when they change the shrimp at the buffets.  You can't expect serious work to get done.

In-person Election Day Maricopa County

Trump 62%
Biden 36%

Overall Election Day

Trump 65%
Biden 34%
More than half the uncounted are mail-in ballots that arrived Monday/Tuesday.

LINK

Maricopa County's total of uncounted ballots now stands at:

248,000 early ballots that arrived on Monday and Tuesday.

160,000 to 180,000 early ballots that were dropped off on Election Day.

18,000 provisional ballots, about 10,000 of which are from Election Day and the remainder from early voting.

oh great guys rudy is here and hes been over the in the corner quote tucking his shirt in endquote for the last twenty minutes and its pretty freaky and frankly were not sure how thats helping anything take that to the bank bromigos
Rudy found a blind guy that saw Democrats stealing a briefcase with Trump votes

Instead of OCR, it uses SSR (Sharpie smelling recognition).

You haven't been paying attention at all have you?

So Maine's single electorate is in the books for Trump and Wisconsin is now on the books for Biden.

Still no Alaska, huh?  Roll out of your fur lined igloo beds and get to work, you only have like 4 hours of daylight to get this wrapped up.

Everyone: "The entire crew of this commercial airliner is incapacitated and one of the passengers is trying to make an emergency landing.  We need all hands on deck to try to deal with this situation as calmly as possible."

Nevada Election Officials: "THERE'S A SALE AT PENNYS!"

I just posted the link to that article up above.

They probably have guys in the casinos that could have counted the whole thing in a few hours.
How to take your slice off the top though?  The whole 1 for you 1 for me, 2 for you 2 for me doesn't work with a ballot does it?  Are they collector items in Guam or something?

This is a little simplistic. The nuance of Donald’s statement appears lost

and John James back in front with 14k vote lead

Rudy en route to Philly

”massive cheating”

the plot thickens
He needs to get to Detroit Stat as well, Democrats are ejecting Trump challengers from ballot canvassing. So dirty.

These two posts remind me of a very informative article that I came across the other day: "What I Learned From Training To Be A Right-Wing Poll Watcher"

Excerpt:

Alan Vera, ballot security chairman for Texas’ Harris County GOP, wants prospective poll watchers to keep an eye on their coffee.

“Here’s a tip that I almost hate to have to tell you, but: Do not accept coffee from the election judge or any of the clerks,” he warns early in a training video for volunteer poll watchers. “We’ve had too many instances in the past where laxatives have been hidden inside coffee and our poll watchers end up spending the day in the restroom instead of in the polls watching what’s going on.”

This first rule of poll watching speaks to the bigger lesson I learned from sitting through hours of conservative poll watching training videos over the past several weeks: These programs are more about instilling paranoia in the Republican Party faithful than about actually teaching them to successfully suppress votes.

Fox has AZ for Biden. CNN does not.

CNN has WI for Biden. Fox does not.

If Biden takes AZ and WI, that puts him at 248. Winning MI and NV puts him at 270 right on the dot.

Just saw that it looks like the Republicans are picking up a few (4-5 seats) in the House.  Not enough to make any real difference, but I didn't see that coming.

Your home state of New Jersey used to know how to handle elections. None of this delayed counting stuff. You guys had the vote counted months before Election Day; nobody ever had to wait.

One day I’m going to be a little tipsy and start shaking my fist at the never Trumpers
Let’s be honest, there really aren’t any never Trumpers.
I was fooled, I thought they were real. I thought the Lincoln Project would have an effect. But I’ll bet anything at this point that when we study this election, every Republican in sight voted for Donald Trump. It’s his party now; that’s the reality.

So the late count in MI and WI went almost entirely Biden. And the late count in AZ may swing back to Trump.

Watch PA come in over the top at the end with 150% of the remaining votes for guess who.
