***Official Texas Rangers 2015 Thread*** - Congrats Banister! (1 Viewer)

Call off the funeral for now. Team obviously playing above their head, but you had to love this weekend. Give Wash some credit. Team is not giving up.

Yes, they administered the shocker on me this weekend.

Baserunning 101. Hate getting ####ed by the ump there. This team is fragile as is, don't need external forces ####### things up as well.

Headed to Arlington with a group of buddies to see a couple of Rangers games at the end of June. We're seeing the Twins on 6/27 and 6/28, and staying not far from the ballpark (but probably without cars).

Any good advice for restaurants/nightlife? (Most of us are in our 40s, but we aren't afraid to have a little fun.) Do's and don'ts around the park? Already have a tour of JerryWorld planned.

Thanks.

Not much nightlife around the Ballpark. You will need to cab into Dallas or Fort Worth.

Stay in Dallas or Ft Worth and grab a cab to the games. You'll enjoy that much better than staying in Arlington.

Arlington has places to hang out and have a drink that are okay, but not much of nightlfe after that. Dallas or fort worth would be much better (and I stay in Arlington) for a group of friends having a get away weekend. clubs, strip clubs, better restruants, better hotels.

Absolutely this. If you are trying to stay on foot then Fort Worth is your best bet.

The area around the park is a wasteland for activity. Use Uber to get your group around and you won't regret it.

And Odor hurts himself diving back into a bag.

At some point, MLB is going to have to make an issue of how these actual bases are developed and constructed. There are way way too many finger, hand, wrist and shoulder injuries from guys diving back into a bag on a pickoff throw.
His injury had nothing to do with the base.

He actually never made close to the bag. he put a plant arm down and his shoulder buckled. Not saying the physical bags might not be an issue, but it did not come into play with this injury.

Sad news about Richard Durrett. Quality guy on the beat. Always enjoyed his twitter feed and articles on the team.

Sounds like a super upstanding guy as well. Way to early to go at 38.

Hopefully Ian got some closure last night. Lewis could have plunked him the next time up, but meh... Let him have his moment.

Choo is not looking very good. Nathan and Choo are stealing cash this year. Never knew Choo was such a weak defender.

Ya not a very good defender. He has hurt is pitchers a couple times this year. His OBP is still at 367, so it's hard to complain about that, but he's struggling at present. Not sure how much his ankle injury is affecting him at the plate. Hopefully a lot.

Last place Texas Rangers.
The thing that should scare Rangers fans (even if for one year) even with a borderline HOfer and a legitimate top end ace, the Astros 1-25 line-up is probably better than the the Rangers.

Some good news

@Tepidp Corey Knebel was just plain nasty for Round Rock. Yowza. Struck out the side, all swinging. Touched 97, & the CB was an absolute hammer.

Watched my first game since mid june yesterday. Not really sure why I should bother again.

Think I'm going to try and make my way to Frisco tomorrow. Alfaro and Mazara both got called up today. Chi-Chi will be pitching.

Other good farm news. 2014 First rd draft pick, 18 year old Luis Ortiz just got promoted to low A hickory. A little surprised he skipped over Spokane. He's been pretty dominant in the rookie league.

Over 20 grand raised at Newberg Night for Richard Durrett's family. Great generosity.

Dutch Oven getting the start tonight. 60th player on the big league club this year, an MLB record. Also tying the record for most pitchers used in a season.

So we still buying the story he tripped on his dog?

How did he so effectively bury the story that he hurt himself playing hockey, if that was true.

Surprising factoid: Seattle needs a 4 game sweep to take the season series against the Rangers. Currently the Rangers own a 9-6 edge... the only team in the division with a winning record vs the Mariners.

Meanwhile we're 5-11 versus the Astros.

Believe this or not, but Ron hired a prominent Dallas attorney from a big firm today. This is from a personal source that works at the firm.

Not sure you hire an attorney if you got cancer. Just saying.
