Not saying it was the right way to go about it, but I spent a fair amount of time on bye weeks.

(no overlapping byes in any one category)

Like the combo of Romo and Brady, should be solid every week (had Schuab there to but didn't feel the need)

Went mainly with "upper/mid teer" RB's that I feel should produce solid without reaching for the big stud's there.

(we'll see how this pans out)

At wideout I went with 1 stud who I like at his price, TY and Lance should be pretty decent weekly then the fil in.

(this was my toughest category, I didn't like much down low nor want to spend on the studs)

TE's I like Daniels, and Hope Miller gets back healthy an performs, then the usual JT.. :)

Kickers and D's I seem to be in the minority, going 3 each was fine but I went with higher K's then most but I did

want ones on teams I see scoring a fair amount, plenty of field goals usually and I didn't see the saving a penny.

Same with D, I could have saved myself around 6 extra but I think most would agree San Fran and Seattle would

be on the top of there lists as best D's so I took um both to catch the good weeks, then threw in NE for matchups.

(I may have spent to much on D, but I don't really think I "skimped" anywhere else, so we'll see how it works out)

Overall I feel pretty good about what I settled on, like others I went back n forth adding and subtracting for days.

But the one place I "may" be a little week in my eye is WR, just hope the main guy's I chose do as I'd anticipated.

Regardless it was fun to do this again..

Good luk and keep the roster's coming..

Any FBG vets here know what the record is for "most used" players in this competition?

From memory (pffft at the noobs who need to paste).

$43/73/76/40/9/9.

Core:

Brady/romo/schaub

Forte/bush/lacy

Julio/andre/decker

Myers/davis/gates

Depth etc:

Helu/blount

Avery/washington/thomokins

Thomas/fasano

3 kickers

3 defenses

Thin at rb deliberately. Strong absence of buy conflicts. Strong olayoff contender teams only.

Not grasping RB depth versus WR/TE depth.

Go!

Mix of studs and a midsize roster...pretty sure every player available made one version or another.

QB - Peyton Manning - 23
QB - Michael Vick - 9
QB - EJ Manuel - 7
RB - Doug Martin - 34
RB - C.J. Spiller - 26
RB - David Wilson - 21
RB - Christine Michael - 5
RB - Chris Polk - 2

WR - Torrey Smith - 19
WR - DeSean Jackson - 16
WR - DeAndre Hopkins - 10

Just changed it again. Still 19 players, still no Josh Gordon.

With just 19 dudes, spreading the byes out is hyper critical. Think I'm done now.
I've had Gordon on almost every entry. Risky, but hoping not many people take the risk.
not that risky. virtually everyone will make the cut the first 2 weeks and then gordon is back.

Last two years have finished in the money. Didn't spend as much time as I usually do creating this - including not really reading the rules. By the time I realized two WR's instead of 3 this year, it was too late for me to make wholesale changes. I had felt thin at WR though, so decided that was ok.

QB Ben/Cutler/Vick - $35

Different bye weeks + high hopes for Vick

RB Reggie Bush/Wilson/Ingram/D Richardson/F Jackson/Redman/Powell - $92

Bush and Wilson have same bye week is a big risk (esp since it's week 9 when things are tighter). Added Richardson to cover that. Can't get away from Ingram year after year. Hoping Redman/Powell will be solid starters by then. Felt better about $ once I realized there were 2 byes.

WR A Johnson/Amendola/M Austin/Roberts/Kerley/J Simpson/J Ford/K Thompson/A Pettis - $74

Like I said, felt bad about how thin until realized only 2 must start. Every year one of the cheap WR's saves me (last year it was Broyles on MNF) - like to have a lot of them in PPR.

TE Gonzo/Heath/Fasano - $31

Graham too expensive for my model. Need a repeat from Heath plus Fasano to become Smith's fallback guy to make this a solid crew.

PK Crosby/Forbath/Bironas - $9, TD Saints/Eagles/Panthers - $9

Bironas seems to have a 5-6 FG game more so than others. Only one shared bye week amongst these 6 lottery tickets and it is early - felt the pain last year in the weeks I only had 4 players in these 6 spots.

Never confident at this stage, but love big rosters...

I'll take the under by a mile.

Last year it was Cedric Benson at about 50% ownership IIRC. In previous years... Arian Foster at something like 60%? Ray Rice? Steve Slaton? I don't think anyone's ever approached something like 85% ownership, though - remember, the people who frequent the Shark Pool and obsess over their rosters all August long are just a subset of all the entrants in the contest.

Meh...not sure what to make of this squad. I switched it up last night and dropped Forte for Bush so I could fit Brown in as insurance for McCoy. Liked the idea of going with RBs that should get alot of passing targets...crossing fingers with the health issues though.

Time for my annual request: PLEASE don't just post your roster. After a few dozen of those posts, they just run together and are tough to read. It's much more readable and interesting if you add in a little of your thoughts/strategy.

My team:

QB - Tony Romo (11)- 15
QB - Matt Schaub (8)- 9

Have to save money somewhere, and with 4 pt. TDs and the double flex, I decided QB was the place to do it this year. I may lose a few points/week to teams with one of the top 3, but with both guys for less than any of those, I'm hoping having more studs elsewhere makes up for it. Thought about Vick instead of Schaub which had a higher ceiling, but was worried he'd be hurt by the time Romo's week 11 bye rolled around.

RB - Trent Richardson (10) - 27
RB - C.J. Spiller (12) - 26
RB - Matt Forte (8) - 26
RB - Joique Bell (9) - 6
RB - Bilal Powell (10) - 3

Went big here with 3 studs. Balanced byes, with only TRich & Powell sharing one. More importantly, byes also balance with my other studs: none of my top 3 RBs share a bye with any of my top 4 WRs, or my #1 QB or TE, so it's easier to survive those weeks.

WR - Calvin Johnson (9) - 31
WR - Dez Bryant (11) - 26
WR - Emmanuel Sanders (5) - 12
WR - Brian Hartline (6) - 9
WR - Vincent Brown (8) - 9
WR - Kenbrell Thompkins (10) - 2

Going with CJ and Dez should give me a solid base every week, and the other 4 guys should reach double figures most weeks to help out. I'm high on Sanders this year--I think he may outproduce Antonio Brown at a much lower price. I usually like 7 or 8 WRs, but byes are important--with all 6 guys having different byes (and with my RB studs also having different byes from my top WRs), it's as good as having 7 WRs with conflicting byes. I expect Thompkins (and JT) to be on a vast majority of teams, so their scores may not help much, other than as a defense against being hurt by the other teams who do have them. The year Foster was the cheap add, not having him was a killer.

TE - Tony Gonzalez (6) - 21
TE - Brent Celek (12) - 6
TE - Anthony Fasano (10) - 2
TE - Julius Thomas (9) - 2

Tried numerous times to squeeze Graham in, but didn't like what it did to the rest of my team when I spent the money on him. I started with Witten, but couldn't do him, Romo and Dez all at the same time. These 4 guys are the same cost as Graham and I'm hoping they keep my competitive at TE, with a slight added chance that maybe one of the cheap guys goes off some week and gives me a flex score.

PK - Steve Hauschka (12) - 3
PK - Kai Forbath (5) - 3

PK - Josh Brown (9) - 3

TD - Carolina Panthers (4) - 3
TD - Tennessee Titans (8) - 3
TD - New Orleans Saints (7) - 3

Not much to say about 3 cheap kickers and 3 cheap Ds, except that with all 3 kickers being top 6 guys, there wasn't any reason to pay more. I also tend to look at these 2 positions as one point total--the idea is to get 15-20 points per week from the combination K/D, so I want 5 of my 6 active every week and avoid duplicate byes between the positions.

My biggest concern is Week 11 with Romo and Dez out. But, since everyone else is active that week, I've got lots of chances for covering them.

Never spent so little on wr's
Should be expected with the flex position. I think the winners this year are going to have 3 top-15 feature backs that both didn't get hurt and played higher than their respective cost position. I gambled on MJD, Spiller, and TRich, with Lacy as my only other RB. All four of those guys have different byes so I think it worked out nicely.
My thinking as well. I only carried 4 WRs in the end.

Great! Quick request: could you put the links to the Querier and stats in your first post so it's easier to answer the 7,946 posts that will show up asking how to find that info?
"Where can I find the ownership stats?"

1 down 7,945 to go. :)

QB (3): E. Manning ($14), Bradford ($10), Vick ($9)

Perhaps Vick is lightening in a bottle. Eli should be pretty consistent and Bradford may be ready to move into the top-10. I've had highly-ranked 2 QBs in past years, and it's hurt me not to have 3 QBs (especially this year with Vick).

RB (5): Spiller ($26), Wlson ($21), Bernard ($16), Lacy ($16), J. Bell ($6)

Four good RBs, I think -- with bye weeks mostly spread out. Assuming that Bell will get most of the work when Bush goes down.

WR (5): Amendola ($19), M. Williams ($16), Gordon ($15), Hilton ($14), Givens ($10)

Five good WRs, also with bye weeks mostly spread out. Crossing fingers that Amendola finally gets through a season mostly intact -- if so, this looks like a really good group. TB Mike is 1B on his team, Gordon should be a top-20 guy after week 2, and Hilton and Givens should be top-25 (well, top-30).

TE (3): Gonzalez ($21), Gates ($12), Thomas ($2)

Tony is still a top-3 guy, and in 1.5 PPR shoudl give lots of points. With the bad SD OL, Gates may get lots more targets this year. And everyone is picking Thomas at $2.

PK (3): Seabass ($4), Henery ($3), Succop ($3)

Wanted at least 3 PK with some upside in Seabass.

Def (3): Bears ($5), Cardinals ($4), Ravens ($4)

Again wanted at least 3 Def, and all of these should be upper-half, if not top-10.

Very, very similar idea to A Palmer there:

Russell Wilson $15

Sam Bradford $10

Messed around with Romo and Vick here, but thought Wilson and Bradford were better bets to play 16 games. Also tinkered with Gabbert as a one-week stopgap at backup QB to add Stephen Hill, but couldn't pull the trigger.

---------------------

Jamaal Charles $31

Ray Rice $28

Reggie Bush $23

Giovani Bernard $16

Felix Jones $2

Saved enough money elsewhere to go stud heavy at RB. Bush and Gio might offer some value, but for the most part I just paid the price to buy good backs. Felix is a shot in the dark. Had Blount on here as well, but ditched him at the last minute for another WR in Avant.

---------------------

Andre Johnson $21

Pierre Garcon $20

Cecil Shorts $17

Golden Tate $10

Nate Washington $4

Jason Avant $2

K Thompkins $2

Think all seven of these guys offer a fair bit of value at their contest prices. Locked in on six of them pretty early and never switched. The double flex made me a lot more comfortable going with seven instead of 8-10.

---------------------

Jared Cook $15

Dwayne Allen $9

Jeff Cumberland $3

Anthony Fasano $2

Julius Thomas $2

I've had a full packet of the Cook Kool Aid and am pretty sure the other guys are going to be on the field a lot. Cumberland will outscore Winslow by a good bit IMO.

Aside from injuries and contest luck, I think this is the make-or-break part of my team. With the double flex I loaded up on cheap options here in the same way you might at WR in years past. Ideally I'm getting a fair number of flex scores out of this cheap group.

---------------------

Ryan Succop $3

Kai Forbath $3

Rob Bironas $3

Three cheap Ks

---------------------

Indianapolis $3

Carolina $3

Buffalo Bills $3

Three cheap Ds

---------------------

ETA: My rosters bounced between 24 and 27, but almost all of them were 25/26. I've always been a 30-man roster guy, but the lower number felt like the sweet spot this time around.

Wow, that roster looks eerily similar. Looks like we'll be sinking or swimming together!

Tony Romo $15
Michael Vick $9
Matt Schaub $9

Same exact strategy as you at QB, but decided to throw in Vick as well.

C.J. Spiller $26
Matt Forte $26
David Wilson $21
Eddie Lacy $16
Roy Helu $6
Isaac Redman $5

RB's are my strength. Really hoping that I get good points out of 3 of these guys each week. I just really didn't like any of the mid priced guys here so I had to go with as many of the "cheaper" studs as I could.

Danny Amendola $19
T.Y. Hilton $14
Justin Blackmon $11
Chris Givens $10
Brian Hartline $9
Vincent Brown $9
Kenbrell Thompkins $2

Went with a lot of mid range receivers hoping that 3-4 of these each week have a big game. I see a lot of these guys having huge games occasionally followed up by terrible weeks. As long as they balance them out well I'm golden. Got a little risky with Blackmon, but hopefully will survive through his suspension.

Jordan Cameron $12
Marcedes Lewis $8
Tyler Eifert $7

Not real happy with my TE's. I don't know how I missed J Thomas. At $2 I would have gone with him instead of Eifert and spend the extra cash on an upgrade instead of Lewis.

Kai Forbath $3
Steve Hauschka $3

Would have liked to roll with 3 K's but whatever. Didn't have the time to fool around with it enough at this point in the game without jeopardizing my whole roster.

Houston Texans $5
Cincinnati Bengals $5

Was going to spend the day today switching out my 2/$10 defenses for 3/$10 but I guess I wasn't paying attention and the deadline was last night. Oh well.

I couldn't do it as I had Gronk and Richardson already, and I didn't want too much $ tied up in that week 10 bye.

QB - Wilson/Romo

I had Luck/Wilson for a long time, but I needed an extra dollar at the end (to go from Felix Jones to McCluster), so I went with Romo.

RB - Charles/McCoy/Wilson/Helu/Bell

Started with Spiller and Richardson. I thought Spiller would be high %, and I wanted to go a little against the grain, so I switched to McCoy. I swapped out Richardson, MJD, and Powell for Charles and Wilson with my final move. I had Helu and Bell on the roster all along - for a total of $12, I get a lot of upside.

WR - CJohnson/Hartline/VBrown/ARoberts/Wheaton/McCluster/Avant/Hankerson/Thompkins

I originally had Tate and a few more below $10. Then I started to climb the ladder...I combined some WR to get to Bowe first, but I didn't like the double down with Charles already at RB. Then I went cheaper at TE2 to get to Thomas, but I worry he has a few bad games, and I need my WR1 to play EVERY week. So I finally dumped my RB4 (bounced around the Tate/Hillman zone) to get all of the way up to Calvin while also adding Wheaton. I wanted lots of high upside guys to cover the WR2 and Flex2 positions.

TE - Graham/Allen/Thomas

Pretty much always had Graham. Looked at Gronk a little bit, but then I felt like I'd have to carry 4 TE, and I wanted more flexibility at WR. Thomas is on everyone's roster. I like Allen as much as the $12 guys, so I saved the $3 and added a third defense.

K-3/$9
D-3/$9

THE ROSTERS ARE UP!

Only 14,398 entries - this means that everyone survives the first two weeks automatically!
Will we find out how many there are that are FanDuel eligible?
Ooh, I don't know, that's an excellent question. I'd like to be able to flag those teams in my database.

Edit: Actually, I seem to remember reading that you had until Week 4 to still deposit to Fanduel to make yourself eligible for the bonus prize pool, so at the very least I'd assume we won't have that info until at least that point in the season.

I think Julius Thomas sitting there at $2 really opened some things up at TE. To a lesser extent, you could also go for some stud WR with Thompkins only $2.

My team-

Andrew Luck

Mike Vick

Going upside here obviously and slightly cheap. I considered $10 Alex Smith and Tom Brady, but you will see later I just couldn't have more Patriots.

Lesean McCoy

David Wilson

Eddie Lacy

Darryl Richardson

Felix Jones

I thought the flier RBs ($14 and below) were mostly junk this year so I spent a good amount of money here. The double flex makes me think there will be additional value in RB this year compared to normal. I could see all 4 of the starters counting. I was interested in Bernard and Spiller, but the late bye weeks were getting ridiculous, especially wk12.

Julio Jones

Dez Bryant

Danny Amendola

Darrius Heyward-Bey

Stephen Hill

Markus Wheaton

Kenbrell Thompkins

Normal mix of studs and cheap guys who could have big weeks. Whether Amendola can stay on the field is probably going to be a huge factor in this thing.

Rob Gronkowski

Tyler Eifert

Julius Thomas

I was projecting the first week or 2 to not even matter, so Gronk feels safer that way. If my team is in it around the end, I will be glad I have him. My team is pretty generic so I needed something to differentiate between all the Graham teams. Thomas at $2 is the biggest no brainer on here IMO. Eifert, I just like him and don't like the other TE in that price range. Whatever.

3k

3def

Best part of my team is I think I have the right mix of depth to get deep and upside to do damage once I get there. Worst part is bye weeks really messed me up. A couple of my key targets just wouldn't fly and even now my byes aren't ideal. McCoy is so late it's dangerous. Along the same lines, probably a mistake to have Amendola/Thompkins/Gronk all on my team. Wk10 could get ugly and obviously if Brady goes down I'm out.

I tried to focus less on logistics this year though and more on guys I think will have huge years. Too many times in the past I have had guys I don't even believe in just because they fit the $ I needed at a position or had a good bye week.

Made one last switch last night - from Fasano to Thomas. In retrospect, probably should have kept Fasano and dropped Pettis - hopefully that won't come back to haunt me.

I played a similar spread the byes game as apalmer (and many others). My 10 "starters" have 9 different bye weeks, with Week 9 the only double dip.

I love that everyone has Vick. He'll start out hot, but he isn't going to be there by the end of the season, when you need him.

In It To Win It

QB - Colin Kaepernick - SF/9 - $18 QB - Matt Schaub - HOU/8 - $9 RB - Trent Richardson - CLE/10 - $27 RB - David Wilson - NYG/9 - $21 RB - Eddie Lacy - GB/4 - $16 RB - Daryl RIchardson - STL/11 - $15 RB - Bilal Powell - NYJ/10 - $3 RB - Lance Dunbar - DAL/11 - $3 WR - Demaryius Thomas - DEN/9 - $24 WR - Andre Johnson - HOU/8 - $21 WR - Miles Austin - DAL/11 - $14 WR - Brian Hartline - MIA/6 - $9 WR - Vincent Brown - SD/8 - $9 WR - Leonard Hankerson - WAS/5 - $2 WR - Kenbrell Thompkins - NE/5 - $2 WR - Justin Hunter - TEN/8 - $2 TE - Jason Witten - DAL/11 - $23 TE - Jordan Cameron - CLE/10 - $12 TE - Jeff Cumberland - NYJ/10 - $3 TE - Julius Thomas - DEN/9 - $2 PK - Greg Zuerlein - STL/11 - $4 PK - Kai Forbath - WAS/5 - $3 TD - Houston Texans - HOU/8 - $5 TD - Detroit Lions - DET/9 - $3

Maybe I'll put the roster up later, it's really not that unique. But I will declare my strategy : i picked guys that I like i either missed out on somehow in my real drafts. Or i picked starters i hope go away because i have their backups or the opposite where i have the starter so i took the backup in the contest. I figure if i do bad in this contest it could be good for my leagues & viceversa.

Went back and forth between Romo and Kaepernick. In the end, I think Kaepernick has the higher upside.

Colin Kaepernick
EJ Manuel

Richardson, Wilson and Lacy should get plenty of opportunity.
Trent Richardson
David Wilson
Eddie Lacy
Giovani Bernard
Kenjon Barner

I originally went with Green over Bryant because I had gone with Gordon as well. I just have this feeling Dez is going to go off this season. If I’m wrong I can deal with it but I would be upset with myself if I didn’t go with my instinct. I ended up with Bryant, Patterson and Heyward-Bey over Green and Gordon.
Calvin Johnson
Dez Bryant
Chris Givens
Cordarrelle Patterson
Darrius Heyward-Bey
Leonard Hankerson
Kenbrell Thompkins

I didn’t feel comfortable with the cost of the top TEs below Graham and Gronk.
Rob Gronkowski
Jordan Cameron
Julius Thomas

Adam Vinatieri
Josh Scobee
Kai Forbath

New England Patriots
Cincinnati Bengals

Robert Griffin III $20 0.00 bye

EJ Manuel $7 0.00 bye

Trent Richardson $27 0.00 bye

Chris Johnson $25 0.00 bye

David Wilson $21 0.00 bye

Cleveland Browns $4 0.00 bye

Carolina Panthers $3 0.00 bye

Tennessee Titans $3 0.00 bye
This team is super light at only 19 players. Still, I spread the byes well and if I can stay healthy, this team will be strong in the playoffs. If I can stay healthy is the big question.

QBs: 2 for $27

For the longest time, this was Griffin and Cousins. I figured I could survive week 5 without a QB and save some $. But in the end, I didn't have the big brass ones to do it. I thought RG3 was a tremendous value and I'm very excited to see that my roster is the first one posted that actually had him on it. I live in DC, this guy is healthy, and he is dominant. Only question is can he stay healthy... that I don't know. But I'm tired of being eliminated week 10 or 11 every year. If I go down this year, it is to injury. Screw depth! I want points on the field.

RBs: 5 for $105

For quite a while I had 5 for $115. In the end though, I was able to upgrade my studs at WR and TE by switching from CJ Spiller down to Bernard (who I strongly believe will be gangbusters the 2nd half of this season). This group, I expect my 2 flexs to be RBs most weeks. I like the durability of my top 2 guys too.... less sure about the other 3.

WRs: 4 for $68

Until yesterday, I always had 6 or 7 guys here. I don't know what came over me. I just wanted 2 studs that I could rely on most weeks. The Johnsons give me that.

TEs: 3 for $32

No one else that has posted yet has Gronk. WTF? I'm shocked. The guy has been back at practice, full go, all week. He might be a bit slow to start the season, even miss a week or two, but he is the best TE when he is full healthy. He is better than Graham, and was cheaper. Seemed like a must have to me. I'm completely shuked that the rest of you don't have him.

Ks: 2 for $8

Legatron. 2 kickers with different byes, who kick in domes. Done.

Ds: 3 for $10

I like the upside for turnover creation with these guys. Not much else to say.

In the end, if I can stay healthy, I'm going to put up points. If I can't, I'll be gone. I can live with that.

//When this backfires, expect to see me back next year with a 30 man squad.

Andrew Luck $16
Tony Romo $15

Went with two solid options that seemed to be values to me. Luck's running ability and Dez Bryant maturing (and a somewhat weaker running game) for Dallas were factors.

Jamaal Charles $31
LeSean McCoy $27

C.J. Spiller $26

Joique Bell $6

Chris Polk $2

Went big with 3 top RBs. The bye week for McCoy and Spiller is kind of risky, but with Charles as my other RB, I'm hoping to get something out of Joique Bell that week. I figured not a lot of people would be willing to double down on top RBs with the same late bye, so I'm hoping to differentiate myself. I think Bloom took both McCoy and Spiller though, so maybe others are doing the same thing. Polk is a cheap flier in case McCoy gets hurt, hangs onto the #2 job, and/or the Eagles run as much as expected.

Demaryius Thomas $24

Dwayne Bowe $19

Miles Austin $14

Alshon Jeffery $11

Andre Roberts $6

Stedman Bailey $3

Kenbrell Thompkins $2

I might be a little light on WR, but with the extra flex I'm hoping that one extra flex will always come from one of my top 3 RBs, and I think I've got a decent balance of studs, mid range with upside, and a couple of cheap fliers. Also toyed with Brian Hartline and TY Hilton, but ended up removing them (and making some other changes) to add Demaryius Thomas, Andre Roberts, and add a better TE option in Dwayne Allen (didn't want all of Luck, Hilton, and Allen on the same roster). Thompkins was always part of my roster, both for opportunity and defense against losing to other teams with Thompkins, but also added Stedman Bailey as a cheap flier. Chris Givens did pretty well last year as a rookie, I don't see any reason why Bailey can't work his way into the rotation by the end of the year, and Clayton Gray's SOS shows pretty favorable matchups in weeks 15 & 16 if I make it that far. Desean Jackson and Antonio Brown were also on my roster at various points.

Jermichael Finley $18

Dwayne Allen $9

Brent Celek $6

I don't like the bottom end of TE this year, so I changed TE a lot. Originally had various combinations of Martellus Bennett, Fred Davis, and a bunch of other $12-$15 guys. Also had Anthony Fasano late, but removed him when I added Dwayne Allen. Couldn't fit Graham into something I liked. I didn't consider Julius Thomas. Decided to follow my own gut this year instead of following the crowd, and the competition for targets in Denver was too great for my taste.

Kai Forbath $3

Josh Brown $3

Pittsburgh Steelers $5

Baltimore Ravens $4

I normally go with 3 kickers and 3 defenses, but decides to do something different this year. I looked at a small sample of top teams from last year, and several teams did fine with 2 at either or both positions. Those teams seemed to have enough firepower where it was rare that the extra points from a 3rd kicker or defense would have made a difference. So I went with the rankings from Mike Herman and found a combination of kickers both cheap, at least one early bye, and sufficient expected points. The Ravens were always on my roster, and toyed with several others. Settled on Pittsburgh because even though they are more expensive than I've ever spent on a defense, they play Oakland in week during Baltimore's bye.

Brent Celek is on a LOT of rosters being posted here. I never saw a hypetrain thread on him in the pool... we must've all seen the same thing though... starting TE in an uptempo O that lost its WR2. Good value for $6.

QB: Romo/Eli

I figured most teams would have some combo with Vick/Manuel so I decided to 'zag' and have Eli. (I don't think I've ever seen another Eli team). Both Romo and Eli are durable players and Eli is known for having a few massive games per year. If I stay alive late into the contest, no worries about having only 1 healthy QB.

RB: Spiller/Lacy/Pierce/J. Bell/Helu/Hunter/Michael

I toyed with the idea of one stud player against 4-5 talented backups and I went down the backup route. RB turnover is so high, so I stacked the deck with talented runners. Pierce can give me flex stats right away, but the other 4 have Top 10 upside if injuries happen. Spiller's week 12 bye is concerning, but I'm giving my backups time to see if/when injuries happen.

WR: Dez/Gordon/Floyd/Hopkins/Randle/Wheaton/Thompkins

A good mix of upside in this group. I mainly targeted big body, physical receivers that have big play/strong goal line skills. Dez and Gordon are a knuckleheads but the upside was too great to pass up.

TE: Graham, Cameron, J. Thomas

Pretty standard. I've seen multiple teams have this threesome. All big body, play making TEs.

K: Forbath, Vinarieri, Hauschka

DEF: Pittsburgh, Miami, Carolina

Chase Stuart's article sold me on the Pitt-Miami pairing and I like Carolina as a sleeper team. Kicker-wise, wanted three guys in decent offenses. Didn't want to spend more than $9.

Good luck all.

I love that everyone has Vick. He'll start out hot, but he isn't going to be there by the end of the season, when you need him.
Vick is the perfect backup QB for best ball IMO. He is terrible/hurt or great on a week to week basis. I suspect he will be used more than any of the similarly priced QBs, even if his total season stats don't show it.

:hey: I have RGIII and Gronk - but my team is super light on WRs - so I probably won't be around too long.

I went with a short roster this year, I just did not see as much value in the big roster as in past years.

QB: I intentionally avoided Brady/Romo/Vick at QB since they will be on a lot of rosters. Manning should be both steady and have big games, Bradford has more weapons than ever and should be able to get big at least a few weeks.

P. Manning

S. Bradford

RB: 3 studs and 2 value plays. Not a lot of room for error here but big potential points for RBs and possibly a flex.

Shady

Forte

MJD

J. Bell

B. Powell

WR: With the new start 2 WR and 2 flex rule I went small at WR. I am counting on Dez to point most weeks and hope I can get a little from the other guys.

Dez

Garcon

V. Brown

M. Wheaton

Hankerson

J. Thompson

TE: I think there was a lot of value at TE this year and with the double flex a heavy TE strategy can work. Graham has so much potential in this format I considered him almost a must have player, I am surprised he is not on more rosters. Cook gives me another strong TE to work for flex time. Ausberry and Thomas are value plays.

J. Graham

J. Cook

Ausberry

J. Thomas

PK: Three cheap kickers

Hauschka

Forbath

J. Brown

DE: Best value I could find.

Bengals

Panthers

Time for my annual request: PLEASE don't just post your roster. After a few dozen of those posts, they just run together and are tough to read. It's much more readable and interesting if you add in a little of your thoughts/strategy.
Just for you, dude.....

QB- 2@ $31

Newton $24

Manuel $7

Pretty straightforward. Stud rushing QB at the stripe(given those TDs are 6 vs. 4 for passing) w/early bye, cheap QB as the backup who may get respectable rush totals himself. I expect Manuel will count exactly once for me, but that's fine. If Newton gets hurt I'm boned anyway.

RB- 4@ $79

Spiller@ $26

Forte@ $26

Wilson@ $21

J. Bell@ $6

Really wanted to work in a 5th guy, but getting the guy I wanted on here really queered up byes/talent at other positions. Loaded up on pass catching types who are the clear #1 rusher on their respective teams. Took a flier on Bell since I think he could wind up productive in this scoring setup even if Bush stays healthy.

WR- 7@ $69

D. Thomas@ $24

A. Johnson@ $21

Givens@ $10

Roberts@ $6

Wheaton@ $5

McCluster@ $3

Thompkins@ $2

Tried very, very hard to get Josh Gordon on the team, but just couldn't get a group that I felt comfortable with that included him due mostly to byes.

Basically, I went after two bankable guys a the top of the depth chart, grabbed who I felt was an underrated deep threat for the third spot, then rounded out with a couple upside types/a guy who has a chance to get return TDs along with whatever he manages at wideout/the guy who will be on just about every team of anyone that posts in this forum. Struggled choosing between Dez and Demaryius, but Thomas' bye worked better for this model.

TE- 4@ $50

Gronk@ $24

Cook@ $15

Allen@ $9

Thomas@ $2

Decided to go a little heavier on quality here, given the TE premium scoring and second flex spot this year. I think Cook and Allen are both candidates to outproduce their salaries(especially Allen. Coby Fleener's a pud. :) ) My expectations for Thomas aren't anywhere near the stratosphere of some folks, but at $2 dollars I wasn't passing up the potential #1 receiving TE in a Peyton Manning-led offense regardless of how many WRs are supposed to be ahead of him in the pecking order. He can be a matchup from hell and Manning throws to the open guy. Good enough for me.

PK- 3@ $9

Hauschka@ $3

J. Brown@ $3

Vinatieri@ $3

Standard operating procedure here. 3 PKs are the way to go. Guys on what should be productive, but not necessarily completely prolific, offenses are too.

TD-3@ $10

Cleveland@ $4

Carolina@ $3

Titans@ $3

Chasing cheap sacks/turnovers with this crop, particularly Cleveland(chasing Ray Horton, actually). Shots at return TDs shouldn't be a total loss either with Ginn and Reynaud in Carolina and Tennessee respectively.

Overall, this is my shortest bench in a few years(23). Typically I'm a fan of getting into the 27-28 player sweet spot, and I've advanced to week 11-13 every year I've done this using that method, but decided to try changing it up. None of my true difference makers share a bye and I think my top end talent at QB/RB/TE/WR should score well most weeks. I'm hoping I don't really have to rely on my depth guys to be anything other than that; depth guys to cover byes.

On the downside, I almost certainly won't be able to overcome an injury to Newton and probably not one to any of the top 3 WRs either.

Only real thing I regret and I do every year....have 3 kickers (and usually 3 defenses, but not always). Donnie better be worth it...

Andrew Luck $16
Tony Romo $15
---------------------------------------------
Adrian Peterson $37
Chris Johnson $25
Eddie Lacy $16
Shonn Greene $6
Isaac Redman $5
----------------------------------------------
Dez Bryant $26
Demaryius Thomas $24
T.Y. Hilton $14
Rueben Randle $8
Mohamed Sanu $6
Donnie Avery $4
Kenbrell Thompkins $2
--------------------------------------------
Jimmy Graham $31
Julius Thomas $2
-------------------------------------------
Steve Hauschka $3
Kai Forbath $3
-----------------------------------------
Cleveland Browns $4
Washington Redskins $3

Wow, I guess my team may not be as unique as I thought it would be. Still feel pretty good about it.

QB - Peyton Manning $23
QB - EJ Manuel $7

LOVE LOVE LOVE Peyton this year. Not only did they add Welker to an already potent offense, but Manning's arm strength is back and Denver has really good passing matchups all year long. Since Manning was rostered, we needed just a bye week fill in/high upside guy, so Manuel for $7 seemed pretty logical.

RB - Trent Richardson $27
RB - C.J. Spiller $26
RB - David Wilson $21
RB - Eddie Lacy $16
RB - Chris Polk $2

I think I changed my running backs and receivers about 123,873 times over the last month. Seems that going with 3 big backs was a trend this year, so glad I went that direction. Love the upside of Richardson and especially Spiller (although the week 12 bye is rough). Once Andre Brown went down with his injury, Wilson became a must roster. I have a feeling that Brown may come back to little opportunity if Wilson gets off to the hot start that he is capable of. Lacy has a lot of potential at $16 (debated him vs DeAngelo for a while), and Polk is a decent flyer in an up tempo offense.

WR - Dez Bryant $26
WR - A.J. Green $25
WR - Dwayne Bowe $19
WR - Justin Blackmon $11
WR - Vincent Brown $9
WR - Kenbrell Thompkins $2

After watching Dez Bryant nearly single handedly crush my dreams of winning last year (thanks Dez, Calvin and Marshawn...APPRECIATE IT FELLAS), I wanted him for this year's team. Seeing his strong camp only confirmed it. A.J. Green, despite the week 12 bye, felt like great value at $25. It's a gamble carrying both him and Spiller, but no one else on our team has a week 12 bye. I love Dwayne Bowe as he finally has his first competent QB in Alex Smith, and will be expecting flex numbers from him weekly. Blackmon and Brown feel like good upside plays for those middle elimination weeks, and although I'm not as sold on Thompkins as everyone else...he was going to be too heavily owned NOT to roster.

TE - Jordan Cameron $12
TE - Dwayne Allen $9
TE - Julius Thomas $2

With spending extra at RB and WR, and with good mid range value at TE, this was the place to save money. Cameron/Allen aren't the official FBG TE by Committee for PPR, but they're top 5. Both have a lot of upside in offenses that should use them. For Julius Thomas: see Thompkins, Kenbrell.

K - Steve Hauschka $3
K - Josh Brown $3

Their offenses should score a lot of points? I didn't give it a ton of thought, just wanted to go cheap.

DEF - Cleveland Browns $4
DEF - Buffalo Bills $3

Wanted Buffalo for sure, as it felt like they were good value in this format for the $3 tag. Had an extra dollar to spend, and Cleveland's schedule matched up REALLY well with them.

Good luck everyone!

Tom Brady $19
Code:
Michael Vick $9
Went with 2 guys here. Hoping Vick can be a stud. Originally had Weedon as well, plus Shaub instead of Vick. If Vick gets Broken, I could be done early.

Stevan Ridley $21
Code:
Ryan Mathews $19
Code:
Eddie Lacy $16
Code:
Daryl Richardson $15
Code:
Daniel Thomas $7
Top 4 guys are starters. Thomas can hopefully at least be the short yardage/TD guy. I kinda bought into the idea that he was right there with Lamar Miller.

Dez Bryant $26
Code:
Danny Amendola $19
Code:
DeSean Jackson $16
Code:
Josh Gordon $15
Code:
Chris Givens $10
Code:
Vincent Brown $9
Code:
Kenbrell Thompkins $2
Went with my 3rd and 4th Patriots with Amendola and Thompkins here. They could both do well as starters in that NE offense. Bryant should be a stud, and I keep hearing good things about Jackson. Gordon will be fine starting in week 3, and I see Givens as the main WR target in STL this year at least. Brown I am hoping will get the main role with all the attrition at WR over in San Diego.

Jordan Cameron $12
Code:
Antonio Gates $12
Code:
Jeff Cumberland $3
Code:
Julius Thomas $2
REALLY wish I would have switched out Thomas for Anthony Fasano. I think he will score well some weeks over in KC. Gates looks to bounce back this year...I would take his production from last year and think it was a bargain at his price here. Cameron I am hoping will play to his potential. Cumberland looks to be the starting TE for NYJ, as I don't think Winslow will hold up.

Shaun Suisham $3
Code:
Josh Brown $3
Code:
Steve Hauschka $3
Three cheap kickers from what should be good to great offenses. PIT, NYG, and SEA should all score some points this year.

Detroit Lions $3
Code:
Oakland Raiders $3
Code:
Buffalo Bills $3
Three cheap defenses, none of which are very good. I am hoping for some bad weather BUF days, as that helps for some low scoring games. The Lions I look to do well on the sack front, and who knows what is up with the Raiders.

I'm just glad I won't spend so much time tweaking it.

Obsessed much more than usual over my roster this year. The changes really threw me for a loop!

Never finished in the money although I usually get cut just 1-2 weeks before so I spent a lot of time analyzing the winning rosters last year only to find out that the changes they made (specifically changing from 3wr to 2 flex) completely invalidated all of my analysis and I had to start over.

This is the roster I was going to go with. Kinda lottery ticket team, throw everything at the wall and hope something sticks:

Robert Griffin III WAS/5 $20

Michael Vick PHI/12 $9

Reggie Bush DET/9 $23

Ahmad Bradshaw IND/8 $18

Chris Ivory NYJ/10 $18

Knowshon Moreno DEN/9 $7

Pierre Garcon WAS/5 $20

Dwayne Bowe KC/10 $19

Anquan Boldin SF/9 $13

Justin Blackmon JAX/9 $11

Ryan Broyles DET/9 $9

Rueben Randle NYG/9 $8

Andre Roberts ARI/9 $6

Rod Streater OAK/7 $6

Jeremy Kerley NYJ/10 $5

Jacoby Ford OAK/7 $2

Kenbrell Thompkins NE/10 $2

Jordan Cameron CLE/10 $12

Fred Davis WAS/5 $12

Heath Miller PIT/5 $8

Anthony Fasano KC/10 $2

Julius Thomas DEN/9 $2

Kai Forbath WAS/5 $3

Rob Bironas TEN/8 $3

San Francisco 49ers SF/9 $6

Seattle Seahawks SEA/12 $6

After overthinking and overanalyzing things I read a comment here that stuck with me. The poster basically stated that getting deep isn't really an issue if you watch your bye weeks, but to get into the money you need firepower at the end of the year. Went back and could see that perfectly described most of my past teams.

With that in mind, I spent the last two days completely redoing the team and came up with this:

Russell Wilson $15

Michael Vick $9

I really think Vick has a shot at being special in Chip Kelly's offense, and if he stays healthy (hah!) will give me some great weeks. Needed someone more solid to offset the risk and I think Wilson has a shot at being a top 3 guy this year with 0% chance of getting benched and is young enough to stay healthy. Matthew Barry had a great stat about him being the #1 QB in fantasy last year after they changed up the offense to include the read option. Wanted QBs that get carries at the goal line for the extra 2pts/td and hope to pick up some extra points with their rushing yards. Would have gone with other QBs if the format was 6pts/passing tds.

Adrian Peterson $37

LeSean McCoy $27

Reggie Bush $23

Knowshon Moreno $7

As noted above I'm bullish on the Eagles offense this year, and McCoy has always been a solid performer and good in PPR formats. AD doesn't need any explaination and Bush is someone who I think will also shine in this format (the Lions are consistently near the top of the list of teams that throw to the RB). The Denver situation is a mess, but I like Moreno's chances to put up a couple good weeks and needed some insurance near his price range.

Calvin Johnson $31

Pierre Garcon $20

Dwayne Bowe $19

Anquan Boldin $13

Kenbrell Thompkins $2

Shooting for the fences again here with Calvin, and if Garcon stays healthy (big question, again) I like his chances to be a top 10 with the focus that RG3 has on him. I think it's possible for Bowe to significantly outperform his cost here, and Boldin should be a solid if unspectacular contributor. I have to believe Thompkins is on a whole lot of teams this year.

Jordan Cameron $12

Fred Davis $12

Julius Thomas $2

I really like Cameron at this price, and had to save money somewhere to afford AD and Calvin. I think Cameron has top 5 upside while Davis should be a solid backup. Since I'm a Denver homer I really love having Thomas here and the price was definitely right.

Adam Vinatieri $3

Robbie Gould $3

Mason Crosby $3

Kickers. Went back and forth with 3 kickers vs. another $2 flyer RB/WR and ultimately decided I didn't want to be without a kicker on a bye if there was an injury. Still unsure about this choice.

San Francisco 49ers $6

Seattle Seahawks $6

If there's a decision that I made that I would like to have back this is it. While I don't expect both of these teams to perform to their overall season ranking this year, I'm hoping one of them does each week. Again, the idea was to have firepower at the end of the year to try and get over the hump.

In summary, I can't see this team making it past the heavy byes at week 9. The top ranked players almost never perform to their expected value, and I'm hanging a ton of hope on the Philly offense. Normally I like to maximize my value/dollar and ultimately this was an experiment in going with a completely different strategy by paying for the top players at a couple of skill positions and it will be interesting to see how the year plays out.

Am I the only one that still has the ability to change their roster? I'm not changing anything, but the page is still available - is it the same for everyone else?
I also had the option, didnt change anything, but stupidly rechecked i was within price range and clicked submit....I am hoping the powers that be can tell I didnt change anything after deadline. :hangover:
After re-reading rules I think its cool, and whatever you had at cutoff time is your final roster....

Each submision is tied in with your login so you can edit and tweak all the way until 11:59pm ET September 4th. Your last submit will be your final roster.
I hope so- I did the same thing

It happens every year that the entry form doesn't actually lock at midnight. It's usually some time early the next morning. It's never been an issue. The rosters are up so you can go see your locked entry on the website now.

QB- Tom Brady-$19

QB-Andrew Luck-$16

Manuel and Vick in lieu of Brady was very tempting and would have saved me $3. Opted for Brady due to chances Vick is able to be on the field in final weeks. In general opted for both because I think they are good and because if I'm only going with two QB's I wanted two guys I'd bet on playing the whole 16 weeks.

RB-CJ Spiller- $27

RB- Reggie Bush-$23

RB-Eddie Lacy-$16

RB-Roy Helu-$6

RB- Joique Bell-$6

RB- Christine Michael-$5

RB-Knile Davis-$4

3 starters, two very high end, one starter handcuffed with a guy that might have stand alone value and 3 more high upside handcuffs.

WR-Dez Bryant-$26

WR- Josh Gordon-$15

WR- Chris Givens-$10

WR- Vincent Brown-$9

WR-Riley Cooper-$5

WR- Michael Crabtree-$4

WR-Brandon Gibson-$2

WR-Kenbrell Thompkins-$2

The obligatory Thompkins and possible 50+ catch Gibson for another $2. Crabtree because while I know you have to get there first ultimately I'm playing for last few weeks. Givens and Brown could lead their teams in receptions at a cheap cost and Cooper starts on an offense that might average 8-10 more plays than normal NFL team and give him more chances. I don't usually pay a premium for WR's but found Dez to be worth it at that cost.

TE-Jimmy Graham-$31

TE-Tyler Eifert-$7

TE- Julius Thomas-$2

Obligatory Thomas, stud Graham who I think stands on his own tier and will all season as Gronk's not going to be full Gronk this year and high upside Eifert. Rookie TE's rarely produce but many come on strong in second half.

K- Robbie Gould-$3

K- Mike Nugent-$3

Hate that I could not fit in a third

D-Ravens- $4

D- Lions- $3

D- Redskins-$3

3 fairly cheap D's, feel like I'm covered here.

25 players at an average cost of $10. Lot's of bye late bye weeks is major negative but how impactful that is probably depends on how healthy team is.

QBs

Manning $23

RGIII $20

Cousins $3

Wanted to split the baby here, and grab one pistol QB, and one "traditional" QB - ultimately I liked RGIII/Cousins more than Vick/Foles. I expect the pistol QBs to score more points when healthy this year, but I expect none will last the season.

RBs

Spiller $26

Lynch $25

Lacy $16

Richardson $15

Michael $5

Jones $2

Really have 4 starting RBs here. Spiller and Lynch should be the primary starters, with some hit or miss weeks from Lacy and Richardson. Michael is just a hedge against Lynch late in the season, and Felix Jones is nothing more than a lottery pick.

WRs

Jackson $16

Rice $10

Streater $6

Woods $6

Wheaton $5

Thompkins $2

Hunter $2

What can I say - this group is terrible. I just got tired of going back and adjusting my roster. I think they are all good value, but too many gambles/rookies, and not enough reliability/veterans. I am banking on Jackson and Rice to take advantage of their situations, and hope that the others catch fire from time-to-time. If I survive, I think Hunter can be that guy later in the season - but he'll probably end up on a lot of rosters.

TEs

Gronkowski $24

Cook $15

Thomas $2

Hoping/Need at least one of these TEs to be a flex play each week. I like Gronk long-term here, and with getting a free pass for the first couple of weeks, it may work out well. I keep going to the Cook well, one of these years, its going to pay off. Thomas at $2 seemed like a no-brainer for a 3rd TE.

K

Prater $5

Zuerlein $4

Bullock $4

I like each of these guys, they play in offenses I think will score this year, and have good leg strength. Maybe too much on K, but I should get a good score each week in this category, and every point counts.

D

Seattle $6

Houston $5

NO $3

I like Seattle's D, went after Watt's stats with Houston, and I like NO to bounce back a bit this year. I expect all teams to be playing with the lead in most games, and that helps create turnover and sack opportunities.

In the light of day, I am disappointed with the WRs I have, and should have spent more time/money here. To be successful, I'll need one of the WRs to really shine, and for Lacy and/or Richardson flirt with RB10 stats on a regular basis.
