Ok, now that the deadline is passed I'll post my team and talk more about it.

Tom Brady $24 0.00

Kyle Orton $12 0.00

Derek Anderson $6 0.00

As I said, I took Brady over Rodgers to save a few bucks and to get an earlier bye week. I am sure a lot of people put in DA and his $6 price tag. Orton just seemed to stick out more than the other QBs in the 11-13 range to me. Some cake teams, looked decent in preseason, might be behind a lot, etc...

Adrian Peterson $38 0.00

C.J. Spiller $17 0.00

Arian Foster $13 0.00

Thomas Jones $7 0.00

Rashad Jennings $3 0.00

This is where I don't like my team, had cheaper guys in there but in the end decided to drop the $ on ADP. I think they'll depend on him a little more with the WR issues they've been having and also to keep Favre upright for (hopefully) his last year. I think Spiller and Foster will be popular choices this year. TJ was thrown in there b/c of an early bye and I think he'll still get touches every game. A lot of other backs at that price were backup types. Jennings was a stab in the dark.

Terrell Owens $19 0.00

Dez Bryant $13 0.00

Mike Thomas $11 0.00

Mike Williams $8 0.00

Brandon Tate $6 0.00

Steve Johnson $4 0.00

Louis Murphy $4 0.00

Emmanuel Sanders $2 0.00

Liked the early bye and the upside of Bryant at $13 too much. TO I thought was a decent bargin at the under $20 price range. I think the 2 Mike's could put up some points as well. Everybody is clammering over Edelman and Gonzo, but for some reason I kept thinking that Tate was the Patriot to have. Seems to be catching on, injury is behind him, and Moss is starting the gripe sessions.. Murphy I am sure is a popular pick at $4. Figured Buff. doesn't have that many options so Johnson's name kept coming up even though I had Spiller. Sanders could be a sneaky play if Ward gets hurt, etc..

Tony Gonzalez $19 0.00

Vernon Davis $19 0.00

Dustin Keller $9 0.00

The 1.5/rec and the fact that a TE could be your flex every week made me load up on the TEs. Thinking about the points it seemed like you could get the production of a top 10 WR from a TE, but spend $5+ less to do so. I went in thinking that the TE was going to be my flex all along.

Sebastian Janikowski $2 0.00

Graham Gano $2 0.00

Matt Bryant $2 0.00

San Francisco 49ers $5 0.00

San Diego Chargers $5 0.00

Didn't think a whole lot about the PK and DT, and maybe that could cost me.

Long story short, the plan when I read the rules and scoring was to spend more than I usually did on QBs and TEs. Then get one stud RB, and do my best from there. Let's see if I can get past the first week (unlike last year)

Aaron Rodgers $29 0.00

Ben Roethlisberger $14 0.00

Derek Anderson $6 0.00

Top heavy with a high upside guy in Ben upon his return.

Anderson may lose his job, but if he has the chance to put up a few games with some big numbers.

Frank Gore $34 0.00

Felix Jones $21 0.00

Matt Forte $20 0.00

Arian Foster $13 0.00

Only have 4 RB's but I feel I should get 2 solid games each week between these 4 and maybe even a 3rd solid game.

Andre Johnson $32 0.00

Dexter McCluster $7 0.00

Bernard Berrian $7 0.00

Brian Robiskie $5 0.00

Deon Butler $4 0.00

Eric Decker $4 0.00

Louis Murphy $4 0.00

Devery Henderson $4 0.00

Deion Branch $3 0.00

Jordan Shipley $3 0.00

Mark Clayton $3 0.00

Took a chance here with only 1 really good WR.

I felt that each week AJ will be used, and I mainly need to get 2 good games from the rest of these guys as my flex will probably come from RB/TE.

Berrian I really do not LOVE, but figure for the 1st have of the season he should provide a couple of games worth keeping.

Took alot of lesser guys with the thought that PPR would give them the benefit of producing a few games of at least 5 REC.

Zach Miller $15 0.00

Anthony Fasano $7 0.00

I think Miller can be huge this year, Fasano I think is a good sleeper, but I was left wondering if I should have taken away 1 of the WR, and upgraded to a better TE.

David Buehler $4 0.00

Jeff Reed $3 0.00

Meh

New Orleans Saints $4 0.00

Tennessee Titans $4 0.00

Meh

My goal is to finish in the top 10,000.

28 players - 2QB, 7RB, 10WR, 3TE, 3PK, 3DefFor the last week pretty much every team had 24-28 players. I wanted to get to 30, but couldn't find a solution I liked. Wanted to pair Henne with Roeth, but obviously the same bye week was a deal killer, so I settled for VY. Team Qs (IMO) --Whether one of my $16 in pure lottery plays (Lynch, Dem Thomas, Fasano) comes through? The other low budget guys I'm expecting to ham and egg it to produce usable scores. Those three guys will likely be boom/bust. If they all miss I'll really wish I'd bought another QB, RB or WR.--What happens with Felix Jones and Pierre Garcon? Both will put up useful scores, but are overpriced compared to expected production in FGBs opinion. But I'm a huge buyer on the talent of both and am hoping they explode.--Do my QBs stay healthy? Going with two is risky.--Is being the only team without Rogers and Finley crazy? I'm hoping the combined output of the Miller Bros TE Company outproduces Finley, and expect Roeth to put up big numbers in the 12 games he starts. Getting the production from two TEs instead of one also opens the door to TE flex plays and gives some short-term injury coverage.--Is 10 low-end WRs enough to find three big scores every week?ETA: given what we found out about 18 players vs 24 players in 2009 I was really surprised to see guys putting up teams with anything less than 24. I do think that somewhere around 25 and 26 you had to start making trade offs between quality and quantity this year, but I believe the "more is better" strategy will win again.

Read em and weep.

Looking at the entries posted, I am starting to get nervous that I read something wrong.
Not sure what you mean.
Was referring to a lot of the posted teams going VERY light on TE. Was seeing things like Hernandez and Gresham as the only TEs. When I was doing this I was completely the other way all along. Seems like a lot of the other entries that were being posted last night are a lot stronger at TE, so maybe people were trying not to talk about that too much.

Nice looking team. The only thing I don't like is the WRs. Not sure I'm confident in Williams enough for a #2, and don't like many of the others besides Murphy. That TE trio was mine for awhile, but I just liked spending $13 for Bryant's upside on Dallas more than I did for Witten's 19, that's why I switched to A.Gonz.

My team:

QB - Matt Schaub - HOU/7 - $23

QB - Philip Rivers - SD/10 - $19

QB - Tim Tebow - DEN/9 - $3

Liked the Schaub/Rivers combo, although the late Bye weeks is annoying. Didn't want to go with Anderson as my 3rd because I thought a lot of people would own him and I also think he sucks and will be replaced by Hall in week 5 or 6. Had Delhomme for a long time as my QB3 for steady, consistent production. But just couldn't spend $7 on a QB3 so I went back to Tebow, who I had in an early version of the team.

RB - Jonathan Stewart - CAR/6 - $25

RB - Ahmad Bradshaw - NYG/8 - $18

RB - Arian Foster - HOU/7 - $13

RB - Leon Washington - SEA/5 - $8

RB - Javon Ringer - TEN/9 - $5

RB - Tashard Choice - DAL/4 - $4

Had to get the staples of Bradshaw/Foster/Choice. I thought Washington was good value and I like Ringer as a great play if he sees some time. As for Stewart, I figured that DWill would be very popular so I decided to zag and grab Stewart. He seems to get better later in the year and that might end up winning me this thing. No shared Bye Weeks, which is nice.

WR - Hakeem Nicks - NYG/8 - $24

WR - Pierre Garcon - IND/7 - $12

WR - Mike Thomas - JAX/9 - $11

WR - Jacoby Jones - HOU/7 - $10

WR - Mike Williams - TB/4 - $8

WR - Louis Murphy - OAK/10 - $4

WR - Emmanuel Sanders - PIT/5 - $2

Figured that Garcon/Jones/Williams/Murphy would be very popular as they are good value. Love Thomas this year although I wish he was cheaper. Sanders is an excellent lottery ticket. Had Dez Bryant for a long time but upgraded to Hicks just because it looked too weird to have a $13 WR1. Having WR2 and WR4 with the same Bye week is risky, especially with only 7 WRs. Hope Nicks will be worth it.

TE - Jermichael Finley - GB/10 - $21

TE - Visanthe Shiancoe - MIN/4 - $12

TE - Aaron Hernandez - NE/5 - $5

TE - Rob Gronkowski - NE/5 - $3

Figured Finley would be very popular. Almost went against the grain to be able to get Zach Miller, but decided against it. Like Shiancoe this year with the Viking WRs banged up. Decided to go with a combo of the NE rookie TEs, figuring their output was worth $8.

PK - Dan Carpenter - MIA/5 - $3

PK - John Kasay - CAR/6 - $3

PK - Sebastian Janikowski - OAK/10 - $2

PK - Graham Gano - WAS/9 - $2

Wanted 4, no shared Byes, like Carpenter in particular.

TD - San Francisco 49ers - SF/9 - $5

TD - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - TB/4 - $3

TD - Detroit Lions - DET/7 - $2

Wanted 3, no shared Byes, wanted San Francisco in particular and I think Detroit will have a better DEF than most think.

Good luck to me!!

I agree, and spent the same amount on TEs with Gonzo/Davis/Keller. We just have different players, but our strategy was basically the same overall.

I decided to go a little outside the box with this one and pass on the higher owned players like Finley, Foster, M. WIlliams etc and go for a large roster with players that will be streaky. I set my roster for the first time just before the deadline last night.

Matthew Stafford $16 0.00

Ben Roethlisberger $14 0.00

Derek Anderson $6 0.00

At $6 I'm guessing that Anderson will be a high owned player, but these three could all put up huge games and stinkers, I'm putting my money on no 3 stinkers in the same week.

Jamaal Charles $29 0.00

Jerome Harrison $18 0.00

Justin Forsett $18 0.00

C.J. Spiller $17 0.00

Kevin Faulk $7 0.00

Wanted to have 6 RB's here, but some tweaking lead to this. With the exception of Faulk, all of these guys can be pretty consistent with some opportunities for huge games, and I figured Faulk will be good for a couple solid games this year.

Mike Wallace $19 0.00

Santana Moss $18 0.00

Dez Bryant $13 0.00

Mohamed Massaquoi $11 0.00

Laurent Robinson $7 0.00

Brian Hartline $6 0.00

Davone Bess $4 0.00

Louis Murphy $4 0.00

Bye weeks and home run hitting ability was my first thoughts when grabbing WR's. Wallace, Moss and Bryant should be pretty streaky with huge games peppered in while the rest fill out the roster with the occasional big game.

Bo Scaife $7 0.00

Anthony Fasano $7 0.00

Jermaine Gresham $6 0.00

Brandon Pettigrew $4 0.00

Took a huge chance here on low or unknown production, but going with the boom or bust theory, I figured Fasano, Gresham and Pettigrew fit that mold and as long as Scaife stays healthy, he'll be pretty consistent IMO.

Rob Bironas $3 0.00

Ryan Succop $2 0.00

Matt Bryant $2 0.00

Just took cheap kickers keeping the byes in mind.

New Orleans Saints $4 0.00

Cleveland Browns $3 0.00

Kansas City Chiefs $3 0.00

Detroit Lions $2 0.00

I had to throw my lions in there as they blow up once a year, outside of that just cheap D's with some dynamic return teams...

Very upset with myself, I didn't read the fine print and thought I had another day. After hearing an interview with Pats beat writer, I was running to find a way to get Hernandez on my team. Oh well, here's what I ended up, 25 players for $250:

Aaron Rodgers $29 0.00

Ben Roethlisberger $14 0.00

Kyle Orton $12 0.00

Rodgers is the only uber stud on my squad, I think he is head and shoulders the #1 QB. Big Ben should be a nice complement and I expect Orton to have some big games playing catchup. I'm not concerned with Tomlin's coach speak about Ben losing snaps to Dixon.

Cedric Benson $24 0.00

Jerome Harrison $18 0.00

C.J. Spiller $17 0.00

Arian Foster $13 0.00

LaDainian Tomlinson $12 0.00

Leon Washington $8 0.00

Last minute change yesterday was to drop McCoy and pick up Harrison. I wish I could still see the entry form, I forget the exact move, but I dropped another RB to pick up at cheaper flyer at RB and WR with Washington and Devery Henderson. I feel better with 6 backs.

Terrell Owens $19 0.00

Jacoby Jones $10 0.00

James Jones $7 0.00

Laurent Robinson $7 0.00

Harry Douglas $5 0.00

Devery Henderson $4 0.00

Greg Camarillo $3 0.00

TO as my #1 WR is not optimal, but I think there could be some steady production with several #2s on the roster. Camarillo could be the biggest steal out there with Rice out, and certainly seemed worth the shot at 3 bucks. Robinson could also be stellar if he can stay healthy with Avery out for the year.

Heath Miller $13 0.00

Visanthe Shiancoe $12 0.00

Jermaine Gresham $6 0.00

I also dropped from Zach Miller to Heath in order to get $1 to pickup 1 extra RB and WR. Shiancoe is in for a big year as long as Favre is starting and Gresham seemed like the best value, although he would've been swapped out for Hernandez had I had one more day. Or, I might have dropped my extra RB and carried 4 TEs, they're very valuable in this format. Still kicking myself.

Sebastian Janikowski $2 0.00

Matt Bryant $2 0.00

Jason Hanson $2 0.00

These are kickers. There are three of them.

San Diego Chargers $5 0.00

Cleveland Browns $3 0.00

Kansas City Chiefs $3 0.00

SD was a top value choice with FBGs, so I went with them, and took two other cheap Ds that have really big kick return potential in Cribbs and McCluster.

Byes are fairly spread out. Team has some boom/bust potential but I'm fairly pleased with it.

Aaron Rodgers $29

Chad Henne $14

Matt Moore $10

Jahvid Best $27

Ahmad Bradshaw $18

Arian Foster $13

Donald Brown $11

Leon Washington $8

Bernard Scott $6

Jason Snelling $5

Mike Tolbert $1

Pierre Garcon $12

Lance Moore $8

Bernard Berrian $7

Steve Johnson $4

Jordy Nelson $4

Jermichael Finley $21

Visanthe Shiancoe $12

Anthony Fasano $7

Martellus Bennett $3

Rob Bironas $3

Sebastian Janikowski $2

Phil Dawson $2

Matt Bryant $2

San Francisco 49ers $5

Arizona Cardinals $4

Detroit Lions $2

Tom Brady $24 0.00

Ben Roethlisberger $14 0.00

I think Brady has a huge year, and Ben could be big down the stretch.

Ronnie Brown $19 0.00

Jerome Harrison $18 0.00

C.J. Spiller $17 0.00

Tim Hightower $13 0.00

Arian Foster $13 0.00

Went with 5 guys that could score big for me on any given week, and went for a few guys (Brown/Harrison) that I think could have big years and probably won't be on a lot of rosters compared to some others. Definite risk/reward with the Brown/Harrison picks.

Calvin Johnson $27 0.00

Malcom Floyd $17 0.00

Pierre Garcon $12 0.00

Mike Williams $8 0.00

Bernard Berrian $7 0.00

Louis Murphy $4 0.00

Deion Branch $3 0.00

Like my starting trio here, and a couple good value plays that could score well.

Jermichael Finley $21 0.00

Jason Witten $19 0.00

TE was where the value per dollar for studs was at this year, and two stud TE's will be huge down the stretch.

Olindo Mare $2 0.00

Graham Gano $2 0.00

Rian Lindell $2 0.00

New Orleans Saints $4 0.00

St. Louis Rams $2 0.00

Detroit Lions $2 0.00

K's/D's... whatever. Neither will score much, quantity>quality @ this position.

With Big Ben's suspension reduced I figured he was a solid value...along with Flacco and his new weapons. 3 starters.

Leon Washington $8

Fred Taylor $6

Javon Ringer $5

Tashard Choice $4

I had Forte instead of Moreno...but the same bye week as Harrison scared me. Foster will be on most rosters. I like Leon and Freddy's chances of starting....Ringer and Choice are just if people get hurt ahead of them.

Wes Welker $21

Johnny Knox $18

Braylon Edwards $11

Mike Williams $8

Dexter McCluster $7

Laurent Robinson $7

Julian Edelman $5

Louis Murphy $4

Patrick Crayton $3

Went for some HR type of players. Welker is huge value if he is back. Knox is #1 in chicago...Braylon returns to form...Mike is a rookie....Robinson the #1??? Crayton could emerge...Edelman handcuffs welker.

Jermichael Finley $21

Jermaine Gresham $6

Aaron Hernandez $5

Most teams will have finley and Hernandez....hoping this could be my flex with 1.5 ppr.

Billy Cundiff $3

Sebastian Janikowski $2

Matt Bryant $2

Jason Hanson $2

Never know with kickers....which is why I picked 4.

Oakland Raiders $4

Chicago Bears $4

Detroit Lions $2

Oakland faces lots of poor offenses and the NFC North has INT prone QB's(outside of Rodgers)

Completely agree here, pricing of a top TE that should be a flex that should outscore a comparably priced WR2 was impossible to pass on. It also allowed me to only go 2 TE deep with a pile of WR's to cover the flex spot on byes. Maybe it has been this way in the past, but it just jumped out at me this year. I went 2QB/5RB/9WR/2TE/3PK/4DEF/25 total in my final iteration. I had a 29 player version on my first whack yesterday, but didn't feel the cheaper players would get me much meaningful scoring. 2QB is risky, but you have to make your stand somewhere. I also helped a friend with a team and went pure studs at 21 players, with 7 of those 21 being PK/DEF. If he stays healthy I like that team a lot to do some finals damage, but there is no room for injury error. Both submissions are top 150 this week, I take it that's a good sign, although my "less studly" team oddly has a higher rank than his. Must be the depth gave me more options across the sims.FYI, it looks like OC and I won't be able to run the unofficial scoring site this year, the contest rule changes really posed some challenges to us to even get off the ground. Kinda sucks, as I enjoyed doing that as much as following my teams on Sundays. If anyone with serious web skills wants to PM me to see if we can figure out a workaround, feel free.

Team rzrback77:

QB - Matt Schaub - HOU/7 - $23

QB - Sam Bradford - STL/9 - $9

QB - Derek Anderson - ARZ/6 - $6

Liked the potential value and earlier bye week for Schaub. Paired him with the value pick Anderson even though a lot of people will own him. PK and TRock on Sirius talk highly of him and he does have a strong arm. Covered with insurance on low cost Bradford, who should be behind often and will start as long as he is healthy. One stud and two lost cost insurance guys for assistance.

RBs are where I expect the greatest diversity. This was the most difficult position for me to get decided. IN the end, went with guys that I expect to get a lot of opportunities, but did not spend all my money with a stud. I expect the player owned percentages to get widely spread here and give the contest creators lots of credit for making this so difficult.

RB - Cedric Benson - CIN/6 - $24

RB - Jerome Harrison - CLE/8 - $18

RB - Clinton Portis - WSH/9 - $16

RB - Arian Foster - HOU/7 - $13

RB - Rashad Jennings - JAX/9 - $3

RB - Mike Tolbert - SD/10 - $1

Foster should be the exception to the diversity, but after him I expect large variability to rosters. This will be the key position to separate advancers from losers. Short rosters with studs that get an injury or two will be more seriously damaged. But it was difficult to justify additional expense. You just had to choose wisely here and really can't afford any wrong choices.

WR - Steve Smith - CAR/6 - $24

WR - Pierre Garcon - IND/7 - $12

WR - Mike Williams - TB/4 - $8

WR - Austin Collie - IND/7 - $8

WR - Laurent Robinson - STL/9 $7

WR - Brian Robiske - CLE/8 - $5

WR - Louis Murphy - OAK/10 - $4

WR - Devery Henderson - NO/10 - $4

WR - Deion Branch - SEA/5 $3

WR - Jordan Shipley - CIN/6 - $3

WR - Mark Clayton - STL/9 - $3

There are going to be lots of very popular selections at WR as following injuries, trades, and cuts, several guys added value after the costs were set. You just had to include several that you knoew would be on other rosters. I also think that a key to WR scoring is to diversify with as many players as possible to increase the opportunity to get those high scoring weeks to offset the several clunkers that almost all WRs have over a season. Landed one guy that was costly in Steve Smith and hope that Moore is capable of using him wisely, which is frequently.

TE - Jermichael Finley - GB/10 - $21

TE - Jermaine Gresham - CIN/6 - $6

TE - Aaron Hernandez - NE/5 - $5

DUH had to go with Finley and teamed him with two cheap alternate rookies who hopefully will score some throughout the year and enough in week ten when Mr. Finley goes on bye.

PK - Olindo Mare- SEA/5 - $2

PK - Matt Bryant - ATL/8 - $2

PK - Jason Hanson - DET/7 - $2

Went cheap and hope that three will be sufficient to get me six or seven points even in the worst of times.

TD - JETS- NYJ/7 - $9 - looking for sacks galore and especially interceptions here

TD - Bills - BUF/6 - $4 lots of interceptions a year ago

TD - Browns - CLE/8 - $3 cribbs for the td PLEASE

TD - Detroit Lions - DET/7 - $2 boy named Suh and the former Titan equals sacks for cheap

Good luck to all and better for all my contest squad roster!!

Absolutely fantastic job by everyone involved with the contest this year and look forward to information and updates from Mr. Drinnen!!!!!

My team:QB - Matt Schaub - HOU/7 - $23QB - Philip Rivers - SD/10 - $19QB - Tim Tebow - DEN/9 - $3Liked the Schaub/Rivers combo, although the late Bye weeks is annoying. RB - Jonathan Stewart - CAR/6 - $25RB - Ahmad Bradshaw - NYG/8 - $18RB - Arian Foster - HOU/7 - $13RB - Leon Washington - SEA/5 - $8RB - Javon Ringer - TEN/9 - $5RB - Tashard Choice - DAL/4 - $4Had to get the staples of Bradshaw/Foster/Choice. WR - Hakeem Nicks - NYG/8 - $24WR - Pierre Garcon - IND/7 - $12WR - Mike Thomas - JAX/9 - $11WR - Jacoby Jones - HOU/7 - $10WR - Mike Williams - TB/4 - $8WR - Louis Murphy - OAK/10 - $4WR - Emmanuel Sanders - PIT/5 - $2Figured that Garcon/Jones/Williams/Murphy would be very popular as they are good value. TE - Jermichael Finley - GB/10 - $21TE - Visanthe Shiancoe - MIN/4 - $12TE - Aaron Hernandez - NE/5 - $5TE - Rob Gronkowski - NE/5 - $3Figured Finley would be very popular. Almost went against the grain to be able to get Zach Miller, but decided against it. Like Shiancoe this year with the Viking WRs banged up. Decided to go with a combo of the NE rookie TEs, figuring their output was worth $8. PK - Dan Carpenter - MIA/5 - $3PK - John Kasay - CAR/6 - $3PK - Sebastian Janikowski - OAK/10 - $2PK - Graham Gano - WAS/9 - $2Wanted 4, no shared Byes, like Carpenter in particular. TD - San Francisco 49ers - SF/9 - $5TD - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - TB/4 - $3TD - Detroit Lions - DET/7 - $2Wanted 3, no shared Byes, wanted San Francisco in particular and I think Detroit will have a better DEF than most think. Tebow = Nalls
Tim Tebow wears Craig Nall pajamas to bed at night.

QB - Matt Schaub - HOU/7 - $23QB - Ben Roethlisberger - PIT/5 - $14Think this will be a pretty common QB pairing, but seemed like the best chance to have two guys in top 5 during the stretch run.RB - Reggie Bush - NO/10 - $22RB - C.J. Spiller - BUF/6 - $17RB - Tim Hightower - ARI/6 - $13RB - Arian Foster - HOU/7 - $13I'm thin at RB and definitely gambling on Hightower, but I think the other 3 are solid enough to give me a steady combo with hopefully one or two of them blowing up in weeks 14-16.WR - Roddy White - ATL/8 - $27WR - Wes Welker - NE/5 - $21WR - Santana Moss - WAS/9 - $18WR - Dez Bryant - DAL/4 - $13WR - Louis Murphy - OAK/10 - $4Spent some $$ here, but like the idea of having 4-5 solid contributors every week.TE - Jermichael Finley - GB/10 - $21TE - Heath Miller - PIT/5 - $13TE - Aaron Hernandez - NE/5 - $5Finley and Hernandez will be very common, but I haven't seen much of Miller...hope he goes off in the later weeks with Big Ben.PK - Neil Rackers - HOU/7 - $4PK - Rob Bironas - TEN/9 - $3PK - Sebastian Janikowski - OAK/10 - $2PK - Jason Hanson - DET/7 - $2Liked these 4 from about the first time I set a team.TD - San Francisco 49ers - SF/9 - $5TD - Oakland Raiders - OAK/10 - $4TD - New England Patriots - NE/5 - $4TD - Detroit Lions - DET/7 - $2I've seen these four a lot in this thread.Not sure how unique a team it is. I've gambled at RB, but you have to get lucky to win it all and I think I've got a lot of boom/bust types.
Shocked that only 306 entries have the same QB combo as me. Also that there are only 547 entries with the Finley/Hernandez TE combo. My team is more unique than I thought.

Tom Brady $24 0.00 Ben Roethlisberger $14 0.00 I think Brady has a huge year, and Ben could be big down the stretch.Ronnie Brown $19 0.00 Jerome Harrison $18 0.00 C.J. Spiller $17 0.00 Tim Hightower $13 0.00 Arian Foster $13 0.00 Went with 5 guys that could score big for me on any given week, and went for a few guys (Brown/Harrison) that I think could have big years and probably won't be on a lot of rosters compared to some others. Definite risk/reward with the Brown/Harrison picks.Calvin Johnson $27 0.00 Malcom Floyd $17 0.00 Pierre Garcon $12 0.00 Mike Williams $8 0.00 Bernard Berrian $7 0.00 Louis Murphy $4 0.00 Deion Branch $3 0.00 Like my starting trio here, and a couple good value plays that could score well.Jermichael Finley $21 0.00 Jason Witten $19 0.00 TE was where the value per dollar for studs was at this year, and two stud TE's will be huge down the stretch.Olindo Mare $2 0.00 Graham Gano $2 0.00 Rian Lindell $2 0.00 New Orleans Saints $4 0.00 St. Louis Rams $2 0.00 Detroit Lions $2 0.00 K's/D's... whatever. Neither will score much, quantity>quality @ this position.
Cross your fingers in Week 5--both QBs, plus Brown, Mare and Branch on byes

My team. I think it's a little risky but I'm only rolling with 18. Johnson & Gates were musts for me. Played around with everything else til it fit. We'll see I guess.

Went with 21 players, and probably a less used strategy of selecting 3 key players from the same team, Houston, I feel most weeks they will score 3 to 4 TD's and I'll almost certainly get a piece of (or double) of each of them, and in weeks where Houston falters I'm not really depending on them to carry my team.

QB:

Schaub $23 -> Cheapest of the top 6 QB's, any of which I could see finishing as the top QB this season. I think the better running game and getting Daniels back will help him this year.

Roethlisberger $14 -> Figured he'd be on most rosters, but it's hard to argue with a top 10, potential top 5 QB for only $14. Only went with 2 QB's so will feel much better once (if?) i survive into week 6.

RB:

Turner $31 -> Think he's in for a big year. He picks up yards, TD's and I'm a believer that he's going to start contributing a little more in the passing game (1-2 rec a game). A guy whose one week performance can single handedly carry you to the next round.

D. Williams $28 -> Another player with Top 5 talent and can carry a team in any given week. Sure he'll lose some carries to Stewart, but that will help keep him healthy and on the field. I'd rather have Williams for 15 carries a game for 16 weeks, then 25 carries a game for 8 weeks.

A. Foster $13 -> Popular pick but can't pass up a RB scheduled to get most of a high-powered offenses carries for only $13.

L. Washington $8 -> Believe he's the back to own in Seattle and imo has the greatest chance to do the most with the limited number of carries at his price range.

WR:

A. Johnson $32 -> Absolute stud and at $32 is a steal. Was really the only player I first picked and refused to give up.

W. Welker $21 -> Surprised I don't see him on more of the posted teams here. I think even if he only puts up 80% of the stats he normally does, he still worth the $21. Wanted someone to give me consistent points each week and Welker is that guy in a PPR.

M. Thomas $11 -> Think he's going to make Jacksonville's passing game better than people are expecting. Has the speed and hands to turn a quick slant into a long TD, ideal for this type of contest. Wouldn't be completely shocked to see him end up with more points than MSW.

G. Camarillo $3 -> A very very very very poor man's Wes Welker. If the ball comes to him, he's pretty much catching it and I think Favre will appreciate that and he'll have plenty of 5 or 6 reception games. A bargain at $3.

M Williams $8 -> Expect him to be on most rosters, but a talented WR1 on any team at this price is a must. I think he'll have some big games and disappear for others.

D. McCluster $7 -> A guy that can score any time he touches the ball and a team that's showed they're willing to get the ball in his hands any way they can. He's another guy that could turn a nothing day into a 15 point day in a single play. I figure he'll get a lot of bubble screen type plays which are quick and easy points.

L. Murphy $4 -> Again a teams arguably top and most talented WR at a bargain price.

TE:

Z. Miller $15-> at a 1.5 ppr wanted a guy who could catch a lot of balls. Miller fits that role at a decent price. With more decent QB play, which he gets this year, I believe he puts up more TD's. 2 of his 3 TD's last year were after Russell got benched.

H. Miller $13 -> Put up a sneaky good year last year with 76 receptions. With the subtraction of Holmes, I think a repeat performance is capable and 76 receptions 789 yards and 6 TD's is well worth the $13

K:

S. Janikowski $2, Bironas $3, Carpenter $3 -> Wanted 3 kickers with big legs. Janikowksi led the league with 6 Fg's of 50+ and Bironoas had 5 himself. Carpenter only missed 3 Fg's last year and hit 9 from 40+.

Def:

49er's $5, Carolina $4, Det $2 -> Wanted 3 to increase the chance that one of them scored a TD and becomes an instant impact for the week. Other than that I wanted good young defenses that provided sacks. Turnovers are inconsistent but I think pressuring the QB leads to sacks and bad passes which could then lead to INT's. 49er's were a must at $5, a top defense at a moderate price. Carolina I think will surprise and their DLine has looked very good in the preseason. Detriot is Detriot, and needed a $2 defense and they beat out St. Louis.

Overall, I'm a little light on depth but think I'm well rounded and my flex can come from any of the 3 positions. I wanted to maximize the number of players who in one performance could single handedly move my team pass the cut mark. I think I did that with Schaub, Roethlisberger, Turner, Williams, Johnson and Welker.

Cross your fingers in Week 5--both QBs, plus Brown, Mare and Branch on byes
Yep. It's early though, and I think my TE's and RB depth could get me through. Probably should have added Derek Anderson for $6, but took a chance.

Sounds a lot like my team:Aaron Rodgers $29

Ben Roethlisberger $14

Only 2 QB's is a risk, especially when one of them won't be playing the first 5 Weeks, but if I can survive that, I should get great production from the position down the stretch. And, if any QB can carry a team for 5 weeks alone, it's Rodgers. Would have liked to add a 3rd guy, but didn't want to weaken the other positions enough to do it.

Marion Barber $18

Ahmad Bradshaw $18

C.J. Spiller $17

Arian Foster $13

Leon Washington $8

Tashard Choice $4

No studs, but enough good scoring possibilites each week that I hope they see me through. Other than the Barber/Choice parlay, they don't share any byes, and none have byes in Weeks 9 or 10, so they can help cover for Rodgers & Davis in those weeks. Barber/Choice just seemed too good to pass up: at worst, Barber will give solid production. If he gts hurt, Choice covers him. If Felix gets hurt, the combo may be gold.

Malcom Floyd $17

Santonio Holmes $14

Pierre Garcon $12

Mike Williams $8

Bernard Berrian $7

Laurent Robinson $7

Louis Murphy $4

Deion Branch $3

After trying to fit in a stud, I decided the cost wasn't worth it and went with a bunch of quality cheap guys instead. Holmes was a last minute switch from Gaffney. Again, he's a risk with the suspension, but can give me WR1/WR2 type production down the stretch (if I get there) for 1/2 the cost.

Jason Witten $19

Vernon Davis $19

TE is definitely the best bang for the buck--$19 TE's should score nearly as much as the $30+ RBs. Barring injury, my flex points should come from here each week. Had Gresham as a 3rd TE for a while, but decided to spend the money on WRs instead. Considered Finley, but didn't like combining his bye with Rodgers and thought Davis and Witten were less of an injury risk at a position with only 2 guys.

Dan Carpenter $3

Rob Bironas $3

Sebastian Janikowski $2

Matt Bryant $2

No magic here. Added Janikowski becasue I had $2 left over when I made the Gaffney/Holmes switch and firgued he was more likely to help than any other $2 alternative.

Chicago Bears $4

Tampa Bay Buccaneers $3

Detroit Lions $2

Three defenses to throw in a hat and hope to pick a respectable score each week.

Week 4 will be tense with byes and Ben/Holmes not available, but hopefully all the teams loading up with Vikings and Cowboys will have the same problem and I can sneak through.

Drew Brees $28 0.00 Kyle Orton $12 0.00 Chris Johnson $40 0.00 Matt Forte $20 0.00 C.J. Spiller $17 0.00 Arian Foster $13 0.00 Javon Ringer $5 0.00 Johnny Knox $18 0.00 Jabar Gaffney $16 0.00 Mike Williams $8 0.00 Legedu Naanee $7 0.00 Julian Edelman $5 0.00 Louis Murphy $4 0.00 Greg Camarillo $3 0.00 Jordan Shipley $3 0.00 Vernon Davis $19 0.00 Tony Scheffler $7 0.00 Jermaine Gresham $6 0.00 Rob Bironas $3 0.00 Sebastian Janikowski $2 0.00 New York Jets $9 0.00 San Francisco 49ers $5 0.00 I think i like it
Too much cash spent at RB. You'll likely get deep but bleed at WR as the field narrows.

Philip Rivers $19

Matthew Stafford $16

Kyle Orton $12

Rivers should go nuts early and often with that schedule....Stafford should be steady.....think Orton will have some huge weeks for anybody that snagged him as I think he in undervalued and Denver is going to throw a TON......got Rivers for the first 9 weeks and I know some say late byes aren't good, but I paired him with Stafford who is at BUF week 10 and Orton is at home against KCC..... :goodposting:

Jahvid Best $27

Ahmad Bradshaw $18

Arian Foster $13

Willis McGahee $8

Leon Washington $8

Thomas Jones $7

Rashad Jennings $3

changed this group a few times because of bye weeks.....had Adaii in instead of Best but then said screw it and went for the homerun hitter.....the rest probably look pretty similiar to most.....I like this grouping

Johnny Knox $18

Malcom Floyd $17

Jabar Gaffney $16

Pierre Garcon $12

Dexter McCluster $7

Legedu Naanee $7

Devery Henderson $4

Deion Branch $3

Greg Camarillo $3

Jordan Shipley $3

lots of catches here....Floyd and Gaffney were no brainers for me as I think they are going to go nuts...Garcon for $12 seemed like really good value.....took McCluster over others at $7 because of homerun potential....Henderson seems like a steal at $4 with his big play ability....Branch is a starter at $3.....I really like this group as well....I am putting some stock in the SD passing game with their QB and both starting WR's, but for the first 9 weeks, I should get some production there....

Tony Scheffler $7

Daniel Graham $3

Rob Gronkowski $3

went against the grain and the 1.5/TE should be your flex theory.....decided to punt here and go for numbers at other positions....wanted to be closer to 30 than 25 total with some weeks with a bunch of teams on bye.....TE position is where I felt I had to give up in order to implement.....

Ryan Succop $2

Sebastian Janikowski $2

Olindo Mare $2

wanted 3.......

San Diego Chargers $5

Kansas City Chiefs $3

Detroit Lions $2

again on the SD bandwagon and wanted 3....McCluster, Sproles help with returns which I think is where you can luck out sometimes.....DET is a flyer that could pay off, there dline has looked pretty good

29....no real bye week issues....I'll take it.....

So, everyone list one selection that you feel was the best value.

Here's my vote:

$2 for Ndamukong Suh, Destroyer of Men

Plus you get the rest of the Detroit Defense thrown in for FREE, just in case they accidentally get an interception or something.

Tom Brady $24 0.00

Ben Roethlisberger $14 0.00

I think Brady has a huge year, and Ben could be big down the stretch.

Ronnie Brown $19 0.00

Jerome Harrison $18 0.00

C.J. Spiller $17 0.00

Tim Hightower $13 0.00

Arian Foster $13 0.00

Went with 5 guys that could score big for me on any given week, and went for a few guys (Brown/Harrison) that I think could have big years and probably won't be on a lot of rosters compared to some others. Definite risk/reward with the Brown/Harrison picks.

Calvin Johnson $27 0.00

Malcom Floyd $17 0.00

Pierre Garcon $12 0.00

Mike Williams $8 0.00

Bernard Berrian $7 0.00

Louis Murphy $4 0.00

Deion Branch $3 0.00

Like my starting trio here, and a couple good value plays that could score well.

Jermichael Finley $21 0.00

Jason Witten $19 0.00

TE was where the value per dollar for studs was at this year, and two stud TE's will be huge down the stretch.

Olindo Mare $2 0.00

Graham Gano $2 0.00

Rian Lindell $2 0.00

New Orleans Saints $4 0.00

St. Louis Rams $2 0.00

Detroit Lions $2 0.00

K's/D's... whatever. Neither will score much, quantity>quality @ this position.
Best stud value out there (Finley/Witten) based on Dodd's projections.

Matt Schaub $23 0.00 Matt Ryan $16 0.00 Derek Anderson $6 0.00 Frank Gore $34 0.00 Tim Hightower $13 0.00 Arian Foster $13 0.00 Leon Washington $8 0.00 Thomas Jones $7 0.00 Fred Taylor $6 0.00 Wes Welker $21 0.00 Johnny Knox $18 0.00 Donald Driver $15 0.00 Pierre Garcon $12 0.00 Dexter McCluster $7 0.00 Bernard Berrian $7 0.00 Julian Edelman $5 0.00 Devery Henderson $4 0.00 Dustin Keller $9 0.00 Anthony Fasano $7 0.00 Todd Heap $7 0.00 Ryan Succop $2 0.00 Matt Bryant $2 0.00 New Orleans Saints $4 0.00 New England Patriots $4 0.00
Mailed it in this year Sniffer???

FYI, it looks like OC and I won't be able to run the unofficial scoring site this year, the contest rule changes really posed some challenges to us to even get off the ground. Kinda sucks, as I enjoyed doing that as much as following my teams on Sundays. If anyone with serious web skills wants to PM me to see if we can figure out a workaround, feel free.
Possibly a dumb question, but what changed that makes it so much harder this year? I do not possess serious web skills but I'm curious about the challenges you're facing because of the changes to the contest. I was a big fan of the product, it sucks if you won't be able to run it this year.

Philip Rivers $19

Ben Roethlisberger $14

Derek Anderson $6

Chris Johnson $40 *CJ2K at $40 was expensive but he may put up RB1 stats AND WR3+ all in 1 slot..

Michael Turner $31 *priced right and a great compliment to CJ2K.

Cedric Benson $24

Arian Foster $13 bought in..

Fred Taylor $6

Malcom Floyd $17 Big gamble here at WR. Actually had 2 more guys that I dumped last minute to move up to Finley.

Braylon Edwards $11

Jacoby Jones $10

Bernard Berrian $7

Laurent Robinson $7

Louis Murphy $4

Deion Branch $3

Jermichael Finley $21 bought in and feel good with him essentially as my WR2

Rob Gronkowski $3

Sebastian Janikowski $2

Phil Dawson $2 had to represent CLE here. and cheap as usual

New Orleans Saints $4

Tennessee Titans $4

Detroit Lions $2 <<!! wanted a 3rd DEF and couldnt tweak any further to move out of DET. Rolling with them

***Actual was hoping this morning I could make another adjustment to address WR.. back to work I guess

don't really like my team this year but really wanted to test out a 26-28 man roster just to see

my five starting RBs have different bye weeks and i have 3 QB/TE/K/DEF each so hoping quantity over quality, WR are a crap heap but there are 9 of em

Philip Rivers $19 0.00

Detroit Lions $2 0.00

Eli Manning $19 -->I think last year was no fluke, plus I figured most people would grab Rivers, also at $19, so I'm trying to go with some uniqueness here

Ben Roethlisberger $14 --> A bargain once he gets through his suspension. Hopefully I tread water for the 5 weeks waiting for him to return

Sam Bradford $9 --> Nice upside for a bargain price. Also a defensive pick as I'm sure a lit of people grabbed him.

Frank Gore $34

Ronnie Brown $19 --> Went back and forth on Brown and Forte and ultimately I decided that the Bears implosion potential was too high and that Ronnie Brown would probably bring some uniqueness to my team. This is probably the lynchpin pick of the contest for me.

CJ Spiller $17 --> I think he takes the RB1 job and makes $17 look like a bargain by year's end

Arian Foster $13 --> Defensive pick as I was certain most teams would grab him

Tashard Choice $4 --> Brittle guys in front of him. Worth the $4 flier

Calvin Johnson $27 --> The return of Megatron

Wes Welker - $21 --> PPR? Sign me up

Pierre Garcon $12 --> At that price, I assume a ton of people grabbed him

Mike Williams $8 -->See Garcon

Louis Murphy $4

Greg Camarillo $3

Jordan Shipley $3

Mark Clayton $3 --> I'm guessing a bunch of people grabbed all of these cheap receivers

Zach Miller $15 --> Should catch a lot of balls in Oakland this year

Aaron Herhandez $5

Rob Gronkowski $3 --> Honestly, I don't know which Pats TE emerges here, but I know at least one of them will and it may change from week to week, so I just grabbed both

Rian Lindell $2

Matt Bryant $2

Jason Hanson $2 --> Kickers

49ers $5

Raiders $4 --> The schedule for these two teams pair up nicely

Lions $2 --> A boy named Suh

Tom Brady $24

Jason Campbell $11

Derek Anderson $6

Brady will have a great season. I think Campbell is overlooked way too easily, especially at this price. He will keep the job all year and will throw a ton. Anderson was simply a value play and will turn in a few big numbers from time to time.

Ahmad Bradshaw $18

Clinton Portis $16

Arian Foster $13

LaDainian Tomlinson $12

Thomas Jones $7

Fred Taylor $6

Love this stable of RBs. I think these guys will provide steady production all year as they all should see consistent touches, with many coming at the goal line.

Roddy White $27

Wes Welker $21

Pierre Garcon $12

Mike Williams $8

Bernard Berrian $7

Louis Murphy $4

Devery Henderson $4

Patrick Crayton $3

Good mix here of steady (White & Welker) to go along with high upside guys.

Jason Witten $19

Owen Daniels $13

Todd Heap $7

Expecting my flex to come from this group a large portion of the time. Took a gamble on Daniels' health, but feel good about this group if healthy. OD was on his way to a career year last season and I expect that to continue this season.

Neil Rackers $4

Graham Gano $2

Matt Bryant $2

St. Louis Rams $2

Detroit Lions $2

I will never spend more than I have to on defenses in a best ball format.
